MAIN USERNAME: Cirrus
CHARACTER NAME: Maximillian Fowst-Dursley
RACE: Human
CLASS: Meister
ADVANCED CLASS:
AGE: 16
GENDER: Male
APPEARANCE:
X
Max is a rather lanky lad, standing at 6'1". His long slender frame is surprisingly flexible, however. Other than his height, the first thing that stands out about the meister is his hair. A very, very, very pale shade of blue is its colour; something passed down through Max's family for generations. It falls rather messily, although the meister has styled it so that it covers the left side of his face. Maximillian has very pale skin also. This, coupled with his hair, makes him slightly ghost-like. The meister has red eyes, although they were originally blue. They were stained that way due to young Max toying with his father's experiments, and causing a volatile reaction that blew up in his face. Much hasty testing and scrubbing later, and the eyes are the only remnant of the accident.
Max has quite the odd sense of dress. From the torso up, the meister chooses formal wear. Cravatts and dress shirts are abundant in his wardrobe. However, from the torso down Maximillian chooses practicality over formality; khakis and the like are not scarce in his house. Normally, he chooses a pair of black three-quarter lengths that are deceptively durable; they feature a kelvar underlayer. Keeping up with practicality, Max wears white combat boots to every occasion. He leaves the straps undone most of the time, exposing the fact that he seems to only possess ankle socks.
PERSONALITY:
X
Maximillian Fowst-Dursley. What's in a name? In his case, a lot. Despite the corruptions of Middle-English, Max is indeed a direct descendant of the famed Dr. Faust. If one were to draw comparison between the two, it would become more obvious. For one, Max has an ardent thrist for information. The meister is studying day in, day out; constantly striving to be the most clued-up.
The meister speaks clearly with perfect grammar and a vast vocabulary, which starkly contrasts with what actually comes out of his mouth. Superfluous would be a decent word to describe his interactions with people. His speech is not lacking in accompanying flamboyant gestures.
Max can be considered a delinquent. The meister has an incredibly strong sense of justice and will never bow down to anything that opposes his ideals. He is stubborn, in this regard, however he considers himself to be righteously so. Max journeys through life with the assumption that he is right and everyone else is wrong, and through this comes across as arrogant. This is one of his flaws, and has promised time and time again to fix himself. We're still waiting.
The meister is also rather puerile. Max is naturally playful, almost to a defiant degree. The most serious of situations seems to not faze him at all; even in a life and death scenario Maximillian won't ever stray from the path of play.
Also in the vain of his ancestor, Max seems to be oblivious to danger. Stick a knife under his neck and he'd still be as boistrous and as carefree as ever. Plant him next to a suspect and he'd probably reveal himself in the first five seconds of their meeting. Max doesn't care about danger - to him, it is but a necessary obstacle one must overcome to achieve awesomeness.

ABILITIES:
X
ABILITY NAME: Scholar's Soul
TYPE: Passive/Active
STRENGTH: Average
KEYWORDS: Faust, Knowledge, Buff
DESCRIPTION: Being the heir of the Faust bloodline, Max inherits the Scholar's Soul. All of Faust's knowledge has been preserved for generations, passed down within the same soul wavelength that the scholar possessed. This wavelength is unique to those in the Faust bloodline, and grants the user access to the knowledge of all those who have inherited the Scholar's Soul. The most prominent ability of this trait is that of being able to learn and utilise skills developed by ancestors, as well as adding onto the vast wealth of knowledge for future generations. One can think of the Scholar's Soul as a tome in which one can read the exploits of one's predecessors; learning from them and tailoring their knowledge to suit.
- - -
ABILITY NAME: Standard Soul Purge
TYPE: Active
STRENGTH: Average
KEYWORDS: wavelength, melee
DESCRIPTION: The standard Soul Purge, as taught to Meisters by Shibusen, relies on a Meister's ability to "weaponize" their own soul wavelength as a momentary surge of energy. At this level Soul Purge becomes a capable attack in-and-of itself, able to drive home the pain verses foes with hardened physical defenses. Soul Purge requires physical contact in order to do damage.
EQUIPMENT:
X
EQUIPMENT NAME: Sauberung
TYPE: Weapon
STRENGTH: Average
DESCRIPTION: Sauberung is the name of Max's sword. It is made from carbon steel, making it incredibly durable and, with its fine edge, sharp. Sauberung is able to clash with demon weapons without any short-term ill effects, although abuse of this trait will cause the sword to dull and eventually break. Another of Father's inventions, Sauberung is ready to receive soul wavelength, although Max hasn't reached the level that is necessary to utilise this yet. Its name means 'purge'.

LOYALTY: Shibusen
KEY ATTRIBUTES:
X
LIKES:- Tea
- Fun
- Knowledge
- Purple
- Parties
- Pontificating
DISLIKES:- Brutes
- Cold things
- Inconspicuousness
- Surprises (unless they're tea parties)
- Sadness
- Sordidity
STRENGTHS:- Agility
Max is incredibly agile, being able to effortlessly pull off flips and other skills. He would be considered advanced in Parkour.
- Speed
Groundspeed is another one of the meister's boons. Max often outpaces those around him, and can, once past an opponent's defences, brutally finish an altercation with a flurry of blows.
- Intelligence
Well, you'd expect the descendant of the greatest scholar ever to be smart. Max is very knowledgeable, and this may come in handy for recognising foreign objects and the like.
WEAKNESSES:- Strength
Max is quite a lot weaker than the average sixteen year-old, preferring to get in and hit fast, rather than hit heavy.
- Endurance
Taking hits? Forget about it. Max would rather die.
- Low Pain Threshold
He's a pussy. So what? Max can't deal with pain, and almost every hit will bring him to the verge of tears.
HISTORY:
X
"Into this wild abyss, The womb of nature or perhaps her grave, Of neither sea, nor shore, nor air, nor fire, But all these in their pregnant glories mix'd confusedly, And which thus must ever fight, Unless the Almighty Maker them ordain, His Dark Materials to create more worlds. Into this wild abyss, The wary fiend, Stood on the brink of hell and looked a while, Pondering his voyage."
Faust. As he stood here, staring into the abyss, he felt unsettled. Still, in the name of knowledge and untold prestige he had sacrificed his soul. Now, after making his bed, came the time to lie in it. He shivered, slightly uncertain as to what would happen if he failed. The scholar tried in earnest to drown out the ever-echoeing screams of the tormented; he needed the upmost focus if this had even the slightest chance of working. In spite of himself, Faust chuckled. Here he was, a few minutes left before moving on to eternal damnation, looking for a glimmer of hope. The scholar looked up into the dark crimson ceiling made of some shady material - one minute it was as malleable as clay, the next as sturdy as metal. It gave off a metalic sheen and yet had the look of painted rock. He wasn't amazed by this. Faust had already determined that the shifting of perception was a mixture of his advanced soul perception telling him that there were souls trapped in that ceiling, contradticing with the fact that he was essentially in a box with no entrance or exit.
There was no hope.
The scholar took the half full vial out of his lab coat, and stared at the liquid inside. He had concocted the potion years previous, with the sole intent of using it now. He focused on it. Everything went into that vial. Faust focused his mind, his body, and his soul. Every essence of his being flowed in a barely perceptible stream into the vial. A short but successful process. Untapped knowledge was a very handy thing indeed. Faust's eyes glazed over for a minute as his will sealed itself inside the vial.
He didn't even feel the cold, lifeless and evil shadow of Satan as it fell over him. He didn't even feel the blade as it cleaved his head in half. He didn't even feel his will evaporating into the ether, moving by its own intentions to his house.
To his wife. To his child.
- - -
Faust's inheritance passed through the generations from member to member. During the time Protestantism became popular, Faust's bloodline moved to England; the then holder of the Scholar's Soul was keen to spread the motives of the new branch of Christianity. Middle England corrupted the name however - Faust became Fowst, and so it has remained since.
- - -
Maximillian Fowst-Dursley was born on the 9th of February to loving parents in England. His parents were both meisters, and upon marriage decided to create a double-barrelled surname for the child. The father, Bruno Fowst, was half German, while the mother, Helen Dursley, was fully English. He grew up in a rich household, for his mother was an exceptional entrepreneur that re-invested in Shibusen and other ventures, while his father was an astonishingly good inventor - it seems having access to the knowledge of Faust is key for inventing. Maximillian lived in a mansion in Cambridge, and from a young age showed positive signs of inheriting the Scholar's Soul.
Indeed, from a very young age.
From the age of 3 Max was solving simple maths problems and creating lego sculptures of difficulty. The doctor's thought he was autistic, but this theory was quickly disproved when Maximillian started to talk at 4 and a half. He took up music for a short while, mastering the piano in about four years. In the same eight year of life, Max started school.
They were not ready for him.
He was playful with his intellect, frustrating the teachers when he got into arguments and proving himself to be correct. The other students detested him; he would never talk to anyone that got something wrong, and those that weren't into the things he was into were quickly ostracised. Max caused havoc in class, becoming quite the delinquent. He became rather good at framing people for things, although the teachers caught on when the student at the bottom of the class supposedly wrote a very superfluous and derisive letter to another student. Max was subsequently excluded.
At nine, Maximillian took up swordplay. Fencing was his forte; the child's natural pace was best suited for the sport. He actually won a few competitions in his time, but ditched the hobby when he entered middle school. It was during middle school that his latent meister abilities became apparent.
You see, Max was bullied at his first middle school. For being smarter than them mostly, but also for dressing in a style that was considered too 'posh' for the student body's liking. Day in, day out he would walk the corridors, begging not to be noticed. Day in, day out his fears would be realised as mobs gathered around him and physically attacked him. He would escape as a teacher arrived, or at least, be left for dead by the lockers; a broken husk of his vibrant self that had walked into school that morning. This happened every day for two years. Finally, he decided that it wasn't interesting to be bullied anymore, and, when the usual crowd came to get their distustingly violent kicks, Max used what he'd learned from fencing all those years ago to come out of the situation unscathed.
The bullies, however, were left with the shock of their lives when Max ducked under their rowdy fists and weaponised his soul. He was fully aware of what he was doing; fencing harmonised his being, and mimicking those actions gave him the capacity to become a meister.
Later that same day Max told his parents what had happened, and what he aspired to do. In recognition of this, his father granted him Sauberung; the sword he had invented during his time in Shibusen. Max was told of its properties, and thus set himself his first goal for Shibusen: become good enough to use Sauberung as his father had.
After that? Who knew? Maybe he'd walk the path of Faust...
...except for the eternal damnation part. That bit sucked.
MORE INFO:

Don't have the proper time to go over a character profile of this magnitude of... generous...ness... but, flagged for review.

Okay after looking over this profile in my spare minutes between raiding Baradin Hold and eating all the pies, I'd have to say my only gripe is with "Scholar's Soul". The ability, to be quite honest, feels disjointed. It's almost like a bunch of... things... were mashed together to make the skill. When I think Scholar, I don't think "boost of attack power and instance identification of enemy weak points". And why does he go blind afterwards? Also, you have the ability marked as both passive AND active. That's not a thing. The whole ability seems like one enormous boost (offensive, defensive, enemy weakness, and "resourcefulness") with a completely disjointed counterbalance (blindness). I'd recommend reworking the ability so that it flows naturally, from its description, to its perks, to its downsides. The idea that a soul wavelength can access the knowledge of ANY previous wavelength owner is interesting, and you should explore that, but it's rather difficult to tie that into combat as directly and forcibly as you have now.
Other than that, I think this profile has had more than enough time to percolate. Show me what you come up with for that ability, and if it's good, we're golden.

Changed the Scholar's Soul so that it now pertains to something along the lines of "using the knowledge of one's predecessor's to better oneself. The Scholar's Soul can be thought of like a book, in which one can read new skills and ideas."
