CHARACTER NAME:
Gerrard Asher Mieville
RACE:
Human
CLASS:
Meister
OCUPATION:
Defense against the Dark Arts;
Professor of English Language and Literature
ADVANCED CLASS:
AGE:
Thirty-three
GENDER:
Male
APPEARANCE:
Gerrard stands at a menacing six foot five inches tall with an imposing mesomorph physique, rosewood hair and scalene-diamond shaped brown-gold eyes that will assume power over all students they look into, or will show the deepest compassion. His hair is mid-length, just reaching his shoulders. He doesn't style his hair, and usually just gives a brush through in the mornings to get rid of any knots and usually showers twice a day in the evening and morning.
He has a wide, assertive stance and is very squared off and physically large. His imposing physique is a heavy trait, which many judge him for in many ways. His shoulders are broad, at around 47 inches wide, and a narrow waist at 30 inches. He can be described as a model, although exceeds the desired height and Gerrard himself has a lack of respect for models.
He is a monstrous person within reasonable human growth, as well as confident and somewhat terrifying.
He has an attractive heart shaped face, with strong, chiselled features and a naughty-boy smirk of a smile. He is well kept and clean-cut and very formal. He has deep tanned skin, originally darkish due to his heritage, and a dark barbed wire tattoo around his neck to symbolise something he does not care to share with anybody at Death City.
He also needs to wear glasses when he reads, and also has done.
Inside the school premises he usually keeps to a formal outfit of a black and red pin-stripped dress shirt with three buttons undone, rolled up just before his elbow with simple silver cuff links and a red waist coat. He wears on his left wrist -most notably- a leather bracelet and a small watch, and has multiple string bracelets and charms on his right wrist, with three rings on his left hand, one being a gold wedding ring.
He wears with it a black pair of dress trousers with a sturdy and simplistic leather belt with a pocket watch, usually wearing black socks and formal shoes.
Primary Formal Outfit
His second formal outfit is a white dress shirt with three buttons undone, partiality rolled up, a black waistcoat with four buttons undone with a white strip of fabric tied up in a long bow; Dark brown straight leg jeans with a leather belt with a simplistic iron buckle, along with a white fabric belt wrapped around itself that hangs across the lower hips. He wears military-type leather boots, steel toe capped, with his jeans tucked formally into them, as well as a mid-calf length black-and-white layered long coat with no sleeves, with a wine red under colour. He still sports his golden ring, and usually has scarlet ribbon wrapped tight around his palm and lower forearm.
He usually wears this on missions and sometimes in the classroom.
Secondary Formal Outfit
Out of the school environment and on weekends, he may be spotted in this outfit, but he'll also usually be wearing something a little more casual: a tough leather jacket with a double breasted flap and old pre-war buttons as well as a dark brown neck scarf and cream coloured dress shirt with lightly coloured jeans. If you catch him with his iPod, he'll probably have a pair of custom steam-punkesque headphones around his neck, and you might just catch him with some bubble gum if he's in a good mood.
He usually carries a book or two with him in a light coloured shoulder bag.
He keeps a katana on him at all times and will use it in battle, unless given the chance to use a sniper rifle or rotor-melee demon weapon.
Informal Outfit
Gerrard is, per say, the Sofia Vergara of Death City.
Physique
Gerrard may seem strong, fit and built for hard work. However, he contains one lethal, life-threatening flaw. He suffers from an unusually aggressive non-infectious mutation of TB, or Tuberculosis. He can suffer from intense coughing fits or hay-fever type suffocation's if he pushes himself to hard. It is unsure where he got this strain of life threatening TB, along with the fact treatment is expensive. Many doctors believe he carries a new, gene-based strain of TB, non-infections, but offspring of the carrier have a 50/50 chance of developing the disease.

ABILITY NAME:
Range Wave
TYPE:
Active
STRENGTH:
Average
KEYWORDS:
Soul, melee, disorient, dizzy,
DESCRIPTION:
This sub-melee attack is a development on the original Soul Purge melee attack, and while it losses some strength, it can be used as a sudden measure if Gerrard feels overwhelmed and needs a moment or two of uncoordinated enemies.
This attack is basically a wave version of soul purge, which blasts outward from Gerrard's hands in a semi-circular shape, and travels for six metres. The wave makes enemies dizzy, and uncoordinated, as if drunk. The effects last for five minutes tops, but on average last about one to two minutes before full coordination returns.
ABILITY NAME:
Kindred Anarchist
TYPE:
Passive
STRENGTH:
Stong
KEYWORDS:

DESCRIPTION:
This ability was one which Gerrard has been able to define, is used to track the ne'er-do-wells of society. Gerrard can sense someone on the edge of going Kishin Egg, or someone thinking seriously of committing murder. Gerrard can spot those who are killers in cold blood in a fifty meter radius in all directions, and can be slightly useful when hunting witches, as their souls comes up as a 'murderer' wavelength, which can be identified by a brown-red hue.

DESCRIPTION:
The Noble M15 is the third sports car built and designed by British small-time automobile manufacturer, Noble Automotive. The company specialises in building the best sports cars for track days and money, but the M15 is a sports car built for public use as well as track days.
There isn't anything Audi or Lamborghini about the car; it's doors open like doors, it has the layout of a normal car, has a boot and does naught to sixty in three seconds.
The M15 has a steel spaceframe and roll cage covered with graphite-reinforced plastic body panelling, ventilated disc brakes front and rear and a turbocharged 3-litre V6 engine, but unlike the previous models is designed to be more of a grand tourer/everyday sports car rather than an all-out track day car.
The car is a calming shade of blue, and is faster than a Audi R8 or Ferrari F430. Gerrard uses this car for trips to Las Vegas when he visits his family and has organised to take one of them out for a day. He does have another car for when he decides a family day out is in order.

DESCRIPTION:
The Audi Q7 is the second SUV Audi has released over the years, and is a sturdy, safe and practical vehicle. The Q7 employs a tailored version of the Volkswagen Group PL71 platform. Although it lacks a low-range transfer case, it has quattro permanent four wheel drive system with a central differential lock, and an adjustable-height air suspension which helps in off road situations. Previewed by the Audi Pikes Peak quattro concept car, the Q7 is intended more for on-road use, and was not meant for serious off-road use where a transfer case is needed.
Gerrard most commonly uses this car when travelling to Las Vegas to stay lengthy times with his family and plans to go out with them more often than not.
The car is kept immaculate and pristine, because usually Gerrard has enough time at the weekends to clean both cars thoroughly.

LOYALTY:
Shibusen
KEY ATTRIBUTES:
Strengths: Efficient in both ranged and close combat, physically strong, pain tolerance,
Weaknesses: Low agility, blunt, awful at tactics, opinionated, bad at socialising with Shibusen members, deaf in one ear, slow speed, aggressive Tuberculosis.
Likes: Reading (General fiction), writing journals, his family, Starbucks Frappuccinos, cars, sitting in the sun, rock music, Italian food
Dislikes: Biographies, Dark Romance, fast food, travelling by sea, obstinate students, politics
PERSONALITY:
Gerrard, if one would consider his whole personality, would be considered a teacher that you hate for your entire school life, but love and thank as soon as you leave. He is silver-tongued, sharp-witted, sarcastic, pessimistic and equivocal. He's the type of person who enjoys watching people struggle to figure things out, and has no time to recognize the value of or tolerate different ability levels. He'll assess you just the same. He pushes students hard, while being reasonably easy on himself, usually sitting back with a cup of tea and a couple of biscuits.
Gerrard, being stereotypically British, can find a lapse with everything and anything, and will do so efficiently. He'll point out flaws in weapons, meisters, even other teachers and has the guts to insult a witch up close and still get out alive. He's hard-skinned and tough to provoke, and he won't let his temper slip easily, but will let himself rant if time calls for it.
He has a very authoritative presence, he's powerful in every aspect, although lacks a personal charm and doesn't make friends easily with people.
He likes to keep his distance from fights, which can cause a problem, since he's effective and merciless, making him a great asset and also slightly obnoxious. He knows he can kill well, and he can kick up a controversy about it, and will usually break bonds through his insatiable superbia.
He considers himself a sort of anarchist, who believes in personal liberty and broken societies living under their own rules of right and wrong. He believes that government is and always has been a flop on the bad side, and that it will never please everyone. Gerrard and his partner are powerful figures in the anarchist movement, and support views such as;
~ The disband of one ruling government
~ Different groups of people can form societies which rule under the values of the populace
~ Destruction of organised religion
Outside of the school, Gerrard is more relaxed and friendly, although still maintains a sharp British wit and expectations. He can typically be found at his home or around the market, and will usually spend a morning reading the newspaper with a cup of tea and -you guessed it- biscuits.
He's an devoted reader, and will quote books from time to time both in and out of class, and will affectionately speak of his family, especially his wife and son, who live out in Las Vegas, but tend to visit from time to time. When he talks about his immediate family, he is at his most human, and carries a picture of his family in the inside pocket of his waistcoat for sentiment. If a person tries to steal it -since no one has ever succeeded- is likely to be found unconscious -bloody, bruised and broken- on the gates of Hook Cemetery the next day.
He is, through his demanding and stone personality, he himself is extraordinarily determined, although only when it comes to himself out of anything to do with Shibusen. He's determined to save up money so he can buy a three bedroom home in Death City so his wife and son can move in so he doesn't have to spend five painful days waiting to see them. He's also determined to have ten thousand books by his thirty fourth birthday (currently in possession of nine thousand eight hundred and eighty four). He isn't, however, determined to waste is weekends preparing lessons for students or finishing a fight with a kishin egg. All he really wants is to get out alive in order to be around for his family. It's all he truly loves unconditionally. He'd kill or give up anything to keep them alive, and they know it.
Gerrard, born and raised in England, wants to move back ASAP, although cannot afford to return to his old home. His main reason for wanting to leave is the health service issue. He is disgusted by the health service of America, and would rather have an extra tax than an upfront payment or another bog-loan to pay off. He doesn't see the humanity is America, and seems to just put up with it more than accept it.
HISTORY:
Shortened history of Gerard Mieville
Gerrard was born to Stacey and Darren Reed in East Lonodon, although was not the blood child of Darren, but a product of a one night affair with an Hispanic businessman, however, Darren wouldn’t accept Gerrard’s out-of-habit skin colour and hair tone, convincing himself he probably had an Hispanic ancestor.
Darren and Stacey had once been meisters at Shibusen, although had never acquired more than ten souls each.
Gerrard was third of five children; Haley, Gavin, Tiffany and Stanley, as well as two fostered brothers called Peter and Tom. He was by far the most logical and intelligent.
Darren eventually learned of Stacey’s unfaithfulness when Gerrard turned fifteen, which made all but one of the family turn against him, teasing him and physically bullying him.
Gerrard left for Shibusen at sixteen when he remembered the ‘talk’ his mother had gave him about it, although he had not gone. With ten B-A* GCSE’s, Gerrard left for Shibusen, changing his name to Mieville.
He had two partners at Shibusen; a chainsaw named Baron Renee and a sniper rifle named Yvonne D’arcy. With Baron, he managed to scrape together ten souls, their relationship went bust after Baron found out about Gerrard’s heritage. His partnership with Yvonne lasted a grand total of two years, collecting twenty seven souls. Yvonne left Shinusen to marry her childhood sweetheart.
Gerrard went back to England and joined the RAF (Royal Air Force) and trained as a pilot, gaining experience of both above ground and above seas flight an dog fighting, and can fly both planes and helicopters, as well as learning basic navigation.
He left the RAF after four years, joining the TA (Territorial Army) at twenty-two, part of the Big Daddy Platoon, in which he caught the eye of the commanding officer, Veronica, with whom he shared many sexual encounters.
The platoon was attacked during their time in Afghanistan, killing Veronica and three other soldiers. He went to her funeral, since it seemed disrespectful not to go.
At twenty-four he moved to Bristol, accepting his free entrance to Bristol college studying teaching, A level Maths and business studies. He had a part time job working in the surrounding night clubs serving drinks and working at the bars, as well as chatting up the ladies as a tactic to bringing them back.
He befriended his business studies teacher, Alice Gates, and the two kept in touch outside of the college and moved in together for financial reasons when Gerrard finished his Teaching, English and further Business Studies courses in University and twenty nine.
Eventually in a Halloween party at their home, the two slept together, slightly drunk but conscious enough to understand what they were doing.
Alice and Gerrard moved to Las Vegas, where they bought a large terraced home, slightly on the outskirts of the bustling city. There, Gerrard became a teacher at Death City.
After a few days it was obvious that it would be impossible for Gerrard to live consecutively with Alice at the home, and moved into a cramped apartment in Death City. He found the distance between them distressing.
Gerrard and Alice eventually decided to have a small ceremony atop a mesa with Alice’s family. The two wear a gold ring each to symbolise their relationship.
Almost a year later, Alice was heavily pregnant with Gerrard’s son, who was called Isaac Alistair Mieville and was born on the 6th of May. Gerrard and Alice decided to try and sell the Las Vegas home in order to afford a three bedroom home in order for Alice and his son to live with him.
There is more information and important events in the main history. Please try to read it, if you cannot read it in one go, stop and start where you left off. If I feel people are being lazy and not reading other necessities (which I spent time writing) I will delete this section so that my effort doesn’t get fucked around with.
Gerrard was born and raised in East London in a large, unstable family of nine. The family was made up of Stacy and Darren Reed who are parents to Haley, Gavin, Tiffany, Gerrard (?), Stanley, and foster parents to unruly Pete and Tom Goddard.
The family lived in a rather small bunk-beds-and-kitchen type house, with almost every room being a bedroom. The house contained endless seas of clutter and junk, old toys, plastic dolls, old antiques and nick-nacks from different countries. The house was always in a bad state, but there was nothing the family was willing to let go of, beside from Pete and Tom, whose only desire was to sell everything and buy out the family (a distant dream of a ten and thirteen year old).
Gerrard was an average student, his parents had once been perhaps the worlds worst meisters when they were at Shibusen, and had never really exceeded the three souls count before giving up. His parents didn't expect anything great from him, nothing spectacular, and they didn't get anything spectacular, but something a lot better than themselves.
Gerrard knew he'd be a meister, he just didn't know how good, but he was determined to be significantly better than his parents, which was later discovered the correct term was 'parent', since his mother had had an affair, of which he was the child, but dismissed both names and took his own.
His mother, Stacy, was a very dishonest and unfaithful woman, who had instantly gotten bored if her husband after their marriage, but remembering her own dreadful family history, decided to keep her roaming and countless affairs so obvious it seemed un-obvious. Darren was oblivious and never doubted his wife's faithfulness, always under the impression that she was a good and honest wife.
Until, that was, Gerrard happened. With rosewood hair and eyes an unusual golden brown, none of the traits were in either of the families.
This unfaithfulness could not be tracked, nor did Darren want it to, since he'd rather leave the real father out of his miserably crowded life. He did not give Gerrard any inappropriate treatment, keeping him as his own, out of spite and out of love -a love of which seemed rash and out of the blue.
After Gerrard, Stacy stopped having so many affairs and flings, but she was still a little rough around the edges. She did also pinpoint the exact father, since she had no idea either, but it was Gerrard's mental attitude and success in school that was astounding compared to the rest of his family that made her remember one man, of very little importance, but the co-manager of an up-and-coming business, he was a hispanic, which explained Gerrard's skin color. That was all she remembered about him.
Gerrard was the black sheep of the family, with a higher IQ than any other family member. It was his success in school and his active role in the community that made him somewhat of a joke to his family, one which was self-obsessed and somewhat out of touch. He was quite popular in school with a mix of people, and found it hard to balance his social life between the 'outcasts' and the popular. He eventually took his chances with the popular groups, abandoning the people he had more in common with for a safe and respected secondary school life.
He was almost like a leader, some did whatever ever he thought was cool or right, because he was perhaps the bachelor of the school. He, however, was following even more high-status people in the higher years, drinking, smoking and going to wild parties, at which he'd end up being hit on by girls, although perhaps not as much as some of the older, more masculine guys who -although shorter- were stronger and more ragged and bad-boy that Gerrard, who remained restrained and closed off to any offers of a better than good night.
Gerrard was, perhaps, one of the most school-famous of the Reed siblings, although logically he wasn't a Reed, but he didn't know that either. His older brother, Gavin, was the 'king' of the year 11's, the students in their last year of school. Gavin, the most affectionate of the family towards Gerrard, made sure that Gerrard also became the next 'king', which was perhaps not so enthralling for Gerrard as it would have been for anyone else in the year.
Gerrard, during his last year at school, was given the 'M talk', as their parents put it. Not as social awkward as the sex talk, but rather a talk on meisters. Darren hoped that, although Gerrard's biological father was most likely a normal human, that Gerrard would be a meister, and like his brothers and sisters, refused to go.
Eventually, his life became havoc. His siblings suddenly changed. They began to turn on his and tease him. His sisters would steal his things, write obscure comments in his school books. His brothers would break things and push him about. The siblings had learnt of Gerrard's origins, and knew his bad blood. Suddenly feeling like he was no-longer their brother, they did what they would to do any other 'weirdo'.
At school, rumours spread, his parents had turned from him. His father would ignore him, and his mother -with pain in her eyes- would forget to clean his clothes, cook his dinner, pack his lunch for school. She did all of it against her own will, after Darren had turned on her, after years of carrying for a child that wasn't his own. Darren was unusually cruel to Gerrard, and twice on outings with the family had purposely left him behind, only to come back two hours later to shout at him for not paying attention/keeping up or not listening. Eventually, making Gerrard's life uncomfortable became a game.
To the siblings, he was an unwanted guest (Pete and Tom being fostered were more accepted due to their lack of family) who took resources that they could have used. To Darren, it was indirectly hurting his unfaithful wife, who he threatened in order to get her to ignore her son. Darren's pent up frustrations had caused the swift change, and he no longer felt that Gerrard was part of the family, more like a parasite.
Eventually, Gerrard was able to free himself.
Sixteen with ten GCSE's and all the colleges in the area battling it out for his enrolment (as well as Universities), decided to go to Shibusen. His family complied as much money as they could spare and saw him off to Heathrow Airport, the last thing his mother ever told him was that he wasn't Darren's son.
Not a surprise that Gerrard insisted that his name be changed to Mieville, instantaneously cutting himself off from his own family.
Gerrard enrolled at Shibusen, living in the students quarters with a bizarre Mad Hatter type character and an avid artist. Gerrard settled in quickly, finding lessons easy to get to and was rather well organised. He partnered with a bold, bright Chainsaw by the name of Baron Renee, but the partnership lasted only six months, with a grand total of ten souls. It ended due to a fall out between the two over a rather questionable nickname Baron has given Gerrard behind his back, namely 'Bastard', in the literal sense that Gerrard is a bastard child. Baron knew this through an answer message Gerrard had stored on his phone, from his mother, which was basically her explaining why she had cheated on Darren and how sorry she was but that didn't change anything.
Gerrard was coming on seventeen when he was partnered with a sniper rifle called Yvonne D'Lacy, a French girl whose English was well rehearsed if not limited.
The two managed to compile a grand total of twenty seven souls in two years, at which point Yvonne left foolishly to marry her childhood sweetheart, and Gerrard soon after left for England while he still had his citizenship. Once there, he was picked up by the colleges, but he denied them, joining the RAF, becoming a pilot for both Helicopters and Jets.
Gerrard became a skilled and disciplined Typhoon Euro Fighter pilot, gaining the praise of his officers and fellow pilots. Gerrard was perhaps best suited to the rush of the RAF lifestyle, and is experienced with land flight and being on board and aircraft carrier and has experience with over seas dog fighting. He became well known among groups of people, serving as a friend and a shoulder to lean on, becoming a spark of goodness in a hostile world.
He piloted a very specific plane which he dubbed 'Monroe', inspired by his friend Maverick's extensive adoration for Marilyn Monroe.
Gerrard left the RAF when he was twenty-two, and joined the TA on the ground, using vehicle weaponry as well as being a foot soldier. He was in a small, twenty man battalion known Big Daddy, a temporary squad of troops. His service in the army was not all blood, sweat, tears and friends, when he did stumble across a rather lovely commanding officer named Veronica. The two were, lets say, like birds and bees, and their relationship was less than love, more than hugs. Technically, they shared many fear-driven and non-emotional sexual relations.
The other TA foot soldiers were not suspect of their warm relations, and Gerrard and Veronica did not let it slip out. They shut themselves up and relied on each other only for relief and some sense of living.
The mundane false alarms of potential Taliban attacks did break. One day, Big Daddy was attacked.
During the attack, Veronica lost her life, as did three other soldiers. Seven were wounded. Gerrard lost hearing in one ear due to a roadside bomb, being shot twice in the chest, twice across the midriff, once just above the collar bone and once in the thigh by a shotgun slug, which gave him a permanent slight limp.
Gerrard was invited to her funeral by Veronica's parents, who had known of Gerrard through Veronica's constant letters home, although they were unaware of their close relationship. He went out of respect for her, and the experience made him think about his own life and the value of being alive.
After he was decommissioned from the army at twenty-four, Gerrard settled down in Bristol, getting a college course on business, teaching and A level Maths, while also having a night shift at a number of clubs in the are. He made a few friends, people his age that had missed out on education that had regretted it, and was soon living rather comfortably. On the breadline, but comfortable.
He graduated from college three years later at twenty-seven.
During his time at college, he had also taken extra classes and had befriended his business studies teacher, Alice Gates, a woman of twenty six with dark hair and blue eyes, who usually found it custom to keep a small cotton rose charm on her person at all times for luck. She grew attached to Gerrard's willingness to learn and his rather colourful stories of his time in the army. They also shared the same ideals for a perfect society, namely the 'Proper Anarchy'.
The two continued to meet after his time at college was over and he started University studying Teaching, English and Business. He also started learning how to drive, getting some not-truly-professional-but-at-least-I-don't-charge-money lessons from Alice, who usually picked at his inability to drive and his impatience with traffic lights.
Over time, the two grew closer and spent more time together, going to coffee shops, concerts, cinema and group outings. Gerrard had a Christmas over Alice's parents, and a New Year's Party with his friends.
Alice and Gerrard became best friends, always keeping in touch, whether it be by post, phone or internet, they always made sure that they could talk and catch up. They were also support for each other, especially when Alice's brother died abroad, after being shot through the heart.
Her brother was a friendly, chubby and cheerful man who wasn't afraid to try new things. He constantly went abroad, buying random and tacky nick-nacks because he saw it rude not to. He even bough Gerrard a sombrero from Mexico and a mini Fu Dog from China, the other one (since Fu Dogs come in pairs) he gave to Alice, but he never said why, since it was custom that Fu Dogs stay together.
Gerrard and Alice slowly realised the road they were heading down. It seemed that even though they were best friends, their trust for each other kept rising, they wanted to see each other more, and even when she had spare time, Gerrard was busy with University.
Eventually, when he was twenty-nine and graduated, they moved in together, at first just to cut the cost of living. The shared and two bedroom two-floor house in the city. It had a small garden, a kitchen/dinning room, two bathrooms, a living room and an office. The two shared a room which had two single beds, the other bedroom had a king sized bed, which the two fought over, so decided to sleep in the single beds.
Weekend consisted of pillow-fights, work discussion and going out with friends.
It was at a house party for Halloween that Alice and Gerrard 'accidentally' ended up 'sharing' a bed. For a few days the two were awkward and slightly shy, but eventually Alice popped the question of 'will you go out with me?'. Not as dramatic as 'Will you marry me,' because Alice and Gerrard shared the same view about marriage; expensive, pointless and old fashioned. Instead, they moved to Las Vegas, where Gerrard became a teacher at the Academy.
After just two days of working at Shibusen as an English Teacher, it was apparent that driving to Death City and back was going to be impossible, so with the rather hefty inheritance Alice received from her brother, Gerrard was able to buy a small flat in Death City. The move was painful, especially since Alice had said she'd stay behind to renovate the house for a side project.
After a few weeks of being away, Gerrard made the long haul trip back to Vegas to see Alice. Of course, he couldn't stay for long, leaving back to Death City on Saturday evening.
Gerrard always looked forward to the holidays so he could live with her in their Las Vegas home, the two bought rings for each other so they could look at them and remember them. He doesn't call it a wedding ring, it isn't, for fact, the two just act as if they were married. They never wanted to marry, they believe marriages are strictly religious, but after a few years in Vegas they had a small wedding-type ceremony, but with less cost and less extravagance.
The only people invited were five close friends and Alice's family, since Gerrard refused to have anything to do with his own.
The small ceremony was roughly half and hour, custom vows and a small party afterwards with dancing and drink.
The small ceremony was performed on the first Saturday of the summer holidays, for no particular reason.
Almost a year later, Alice was pregnant and Gerrard was all worked up about it. His old family had also been trying to get in touch, asking him about his job, relationship status and in general being a nuisance.
His sisters kept phoning (somehow getting his number) asking for an extra thousand pounds so that they could feed their growing families.
His brothers asked for bale and money for football tickets. Gerrard always responded 'You're not my family' and 'I have my own life to look after', restraining from saying 'I have my own problems to deal with', since he didn't want Alice thinking that their baby-to-be was a problem.
His brothers, Gavin and Stanley managed to track him down, and arrived at his home with pathetic timing, since their arrival was, well, on the baby's arrival. Alice insisted on home birth, since America was appalling for health care service, and she'd rather have no pain killers than pay five thousand dollars.
Stressed (from worry), tired (from staying up with Alice all night) and angry (for his post-bastard position in the family), Gerrard made the two sleep outside, although they were kept up at night by Alice, who wasn't to bad with birth, just sometimes got impatient and hit some rough patches along the way.
After probably the most exhausting 17 hours of Gerrard's life, his first son was born, and his brothers were kicked out, and in his bitterness, he made sure they never mentioned his son in front of him, all due to the isolation he felt when he was younger, and never wanted to see them again. His brothers left for England with tales of 'a grumpy old sod'.
It took a while for Alice and Gerrard to agree on a name. The two wanted it to be one thing; British.
It seemed compulsory to name their son in an original British fashion, although they narrowed it down to 'Isaac', Alice's choice, and 'Alastair', Gerrard's choice. After much debating and discussion, the two settled with Isaac Alastair Mieville.
The initial naming deciding took about three days.
Only two days after his son was named, the school term began, and he had to head off back to Death City. His once military facade had been broken, and he was weak. For a good half term he seemed to be suffering, no matter who asked, he kept it to himself. Even if Shinigami had asked, he would never have told.
It was no secret, however, that the professor had been expecting a baby, and so his students -very rightly- linked his sudden depressing veil to his new child, although he returned to normal as soon as students began asking questions.
A few months later and Gerrard began to suffer from coughing fits when suffering stress or a high heartbeat, and soon began -very worryingly- coughing up blood. Gerrard was diagnosed with a mutation strain of TB, non-infectious, but gene-based. The strain source itself could have been infectious, but it's unknown where he picked up the variation, and it's a question if he'll survive beyond his forty-fifth birthday. Needless to say, the discovery had Gerrard and Alice petrified with fright; the question now is if Gerrard's son also posses the killer disease.
