CHARACTER NAME: Rick Fader
RACE: Human
CLASS: Weapon
AGE: 17
GENDER: Male
APPEARANCE: Picture
Rick has a rather average look about him for a teenager. A mop of blue hair adorns his head. His yellow eyes are a somewhat normal color for any teenager. He bears a thin, heart-shaped face. However, due to him excessively playing video games indoors, his skin is somewhat pale. However, outside activities such as baseball keep his skin from looking sickly. His figure is on the thin side. While not unhealthy, he can be considered scrawny. Rick stands at an impressive five feet and ten inches in height.
On his body are several scars. Most of them are on his torso/midsection. The first of his scars is a scar running vertically down his right forearm, coming from a knife used by The Torso Killer. A few of them, front and back are areas where bullets went through him during his hunt for Pretty Boy Floyd. On his left shoulder is a nasty scar running vertically. That came from a meat cleaver blow caused by Leatherface. On his abdomen are a few marks where he had been stabbed three times by the Woodward Corridor Killer. The rest of the scars, with plenty on his arms, legs, and a small one running horizontally beneath his right cheekbone came from his battle with Garrison Slitz, the Dark Wire.
Normally, Rick chooses to wear a gray hoodie over his upper body. When it gets hot, or if he just chooses not to wear the hoodie, he wears a t-shirt, normally plain. However, he will wear a t-shirt based on a video game or a movie he likes. On his legs, he will wear a pair of plain blue jeans. These are held on with a regular leather belt. On his feet are a pair of hiking boots. Sometimes, he will opt to wear sneakers instead of boots. On his head he will almost always wear a baseball cap, normally plain blue and yellow. Another common item he'll wear are a pair of gray fingerless gloves.

PERSONALITY:
Rick Fader is not the easiest person to be around. The first thing one would notice about him is that he has an extremely foul mouth. Some would go as far as to say Rick’s foul mouth puts sailor mouth to shame. He casually uses various obscenities in normal conversation. For most people that know him, this is the first major thing that sets his standing down to a negative level. Despite any reprimand he receives his from cursing, he never seems to learn that he should stop using profanity.
Aside from being a massive foul mouth, he has an extremely dark and crude sense of humor. He is one of the people who will openly make a joke about such things as HIV/AIDS. Sensitive matters that people would consider horrible to joke about are things he openly jokes about without any hesitation. But while his jokes might be considered sexual innuendo, he is far from a pervert. As a matter of fact, he does his best to bottle in any feelings about girls in general. However, like anyone else, he is prone to letting such feelings slip.
Rick has somewhat of a sarcastic streak going for him. This goes hand-and-hand with his sense of humor. Whether its laced with profanity or not, Rick will sometimes end up making a sarcastic comment about a situation. Such situations involve someone asking how he feels when obviously injured or ill, examining a corpse of a Kishin Egg's victim, or just being put up to something he deems boring, such as sitting around for something.
Aside from having a sick sense of humor, he also tends to laugh at the failures and pain of others. An example of this would be if Black*Star’s last mission was a disaster, he’d start laughing at him. Aside from laughing at the failures of others, he will sometimes trick people just for a good laugh. For example, he’d be willing to trick more perverted friends just for kicks.
One of Rick’s major influences in some of his decisions is his anger. It does not take much to get him angry. When he gets angry, he tends to threaten people, most likely attempting to follow through with said threads. Either way, Rick loves violence. The bloodier, the more brutal, the more he’ll approve of it. During missions, he likes the idea of killing Kishin Eggs in brutal and violent manners. Speaking of Kishin Eggs, one of the most important facts about Rick is that he enjoys killing them. His main motivation for joining DWMA is to be able to kill Kishin Eggs. He particularly enjoys the more advanced Kishin Eggs, believing that a harder kill is more rewarding.
Speaking of missions and Kishin Eggs, he can be a very impatient person. One thing he dislikes is waiting around. Despite the fact that Rick might read a book while waiting, he will lace commentary with sarcastic remarks and plenty of profanity. When the target does show itself, Rick will make a snide remark about the waiting game he had to play before and/or during the battle.
Of course, there is some good about Rick. For one, while Rick might be rude and crude, he can be amiable to the right people. While he may still lace profanity into conversations regardless of audience, he will otherwise offer special treatment to friends. He can be somewhat supportive of those who are his friends, willing to back them up when needed. Although for some friends, he will probably pull a few pranks on them, such as with the more perverted ones. As a friend, Rick isn’t the best, but he can be considered a decent friend.
Another good trait about Rick is the fact that despite his rude, crude, foul-mouthed behavior, he has proven to be a very intelligent person. Aside from the fact that he is knowledgeable when it comes to science and technology, he is also very much capable of logical deduction. And while he is only human, and is prone to making mistakes, he chooses to learn from his mistakes as best as he can. However, on the subject of profanity and rude behavior, he never seems to learn to cut it out.
The reason he opts to kill Kishin Eggs instead of normal humans is because he likes to kill dangerous people. Because Kishin Eggs normally have enhanced physique, as well as other attributes to toughen them up, they fit Rick’s preferred kills. He deems normal humans too easy to take down to be worth it. And while he is aware of powerful humans, going down the path of the Death Scythe seems more challenging than the Path of the Kishin. Aside from the greater possibility of a ‘real threat’, there is a witch at the end of the road. Rick dreams of the day he’d be able to fight a witch. He will let nothing stop him from hunting Kishin Eggs, the goal of becoming a Death Scythe is something he’s determined to see through, or die trying.
Tolling out death to Kishin Eggs and science aren’t the only things he likes. For one, he loves video games with a passion. Ever since he became a teenager, he had been playing PC games. Of course, he doesn’t simply limit himself to just the PC, as he likes to explore games on consoles. However, the thing that bugs him the most about gaming today are the console and PC fan boys. He believes the only reason they bash the others is because they don’t own the others, and have to make themselves feel better about not having the others. While he doesn’t own them all, he has experienced them all thanks to gaming sessions at his friend’s house.
Aside from video games, he is also a huge fan of metal music. Specifically classic metal music from the 70’s and 80’s. Rock n’ Roll is also a favorite genre of his. However, he despises pop music with a burning passion. He believes pop artists are all glam and no talent, and will openly bash said music. Aside from pop, rap is another type of music he hates.
HISTORY:
Rick Fader was born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 29th. His mother and father were both graduates from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they had met. His mother specialized in computers, while his father was a chemist. The two of them were extremely passionate about their jobs. They had constantly talked to Rick about their experiences, even going as far as to teach him what they knew.
Needless to say, Rick had his share of problems as a child. For one, he has been afflicted with asthma since a young age. And while it did slow him down in some respects, medication helped to keep it in check. Another problem of his was the fact that he was a target of bullies. As someone who never fought back against bullies, a known geek, he was easy picking for the bullies.
Eventually, Rick had had enough of being the school’s punching bag. The teachers ignored his calls for help, seemingly not even giving a damn about Rick. So there was only one thing Rick felt that he could do in such a situation. At the age of nine, one of his usual tormentors approached him on the way home. As usual, he had poured on the same insults as always. Rick had retaliated with insults of his own, which got him punched in the face as usual. And at that point, Rick punched back, hitting him right in the stomach, starting a fight that he would end up losing, once again getting his ass kicked in the process.
While his parents were alarmed at what happened, his grandfather congratulated him on actually having the balls to fight back. However, because Rick was such a shitty fighter, with no experience other than blocking punches and absorbing kicks while down, his grandfather taught him how to fight. While his grandfather wasn’t a martial artists, his techniques were basic, and most importantly effective. He taught Rick how to block, punch, counterattack, and use the surroundings to his advantage.
Over time, and with the training his grandfather offered him playing a huge part, his fighting capability improved. Eventually, he managed to take down his tormentors in a fight, even if they ganged up on him at times. While he wasn’t the strongest kid around, his grandfather taught him where to hit, and what to hit with. At some point, Rick started to enjoy getting into fights with the bullies. He started to enjoy striking at them, making them suffer. Whether it was natural, or built up anger from being a punching bag, Rick had developed bloodlust.
When Rick was approaching the age of thirteen, he woke up from a seemingly ordinary night only to discover his fingertips had become electrodes. At that point, it was discovered that Rick was a demon weapon. With hesitation, they sent their son to Shibusen, where he could train under Shinigami in order to control his power, and to use it for the greater good.
During his first year of study under Shibusen, two years after Asura was defeated by Spartoi, Rick had spent his time training under the NOT class. While he hadn’t been confident enough to undergo missions, he managed to master his full weapon transformation, which was an Electric Chair. Immediately, it was realized that Rick was incapable of being wielded by a meister due to his weapon form. However, he was trained as an Autonomous Weapon, to function in the same manner as the former Death Scythe of Europe, Justin Law.
Halfway through his first year, Rick discovered he had access to a second partial transformation. This time, his hands transformed into six foot long straps. While they couldn’t do anything for direct attacks, they could be used just like his hands. As for how they were used in battle, Rick found that they were good for grapples, with six feet of extended range for grabs. He also found that he could use the environment with them in several ways, such as aiding him in slide boosting, grabbing onto a pipe and allowing him to climb on it, among others.
During his second year, Rick was finally confident enough to undertake missions. With his partial transformations within control, and with some training to fight Kishin Eggs, he was finally ready. His first mission was to evacuate a town full of people from a potential Kishin Egg attack. While he was successful in clearing out the town along with the police forces assisting him, the Kishin Egg in question turned out to be a no show. The Kishin Egg was killed by another team before he could attack the town. Needless to say, the trouble of clearing out a town, dealing with some stubborn citizens along the way, was all for nothing. This ultimately frustrated Rick, deeming the mission nothing more than bitch work.
However, his second mission was much more eventful. His mission was simply to deal with a possible threat. A serial killer was loose in New York City, a confirmed Kishin Egg. While the souls were missing from the corpses, they didn’t know who the Kishin Egg was. However, two teenagers around his age joined Rick, mostly in order to be the big damn heroes of the day. Despite Rick telling them to back off, the two did not heed his words, and followed Rick to the fountain where the hookers were normally killed.
Instead of a hooker waiting at the fountain, it was the girl looking for the Kishin Egg. However, Rick decided to leave the girl to look for the Kishin Egg, as she seemed to be fine enough bait: a pretty girl, just at the base age range of the victims, dressed in revealing clothes; easily mistaken for a teenage hooker. As it turned out, it was none other than The Torso Killer. The Torso Killer fell for the "ruse", and attempted to attack the girl. The boy sprung and attempted to knock him out with a baseball bat. However, the Kishin Egg threw him into a nearby wall, knocking out the boy instantly.
With the unwitting bait and failed attempt to play hero having distracted the Torso Killer, Rick sprung from the shadows, attacking the creature. After a brief struggle that left a scar down his forearm, Rick finally got the upper hand. He had stunned the Kishin Egg with a Discharge, giving him the time needed to dunk his head into the shallow depths of the fountain, allowing him to drown the Kishin Egg in a vicious, murderous display that the girl and the boy who had started to wake up helplessly witnessed. Needless to say, Rick managed to kill his first Kishin Egg, taking the well earned soul happily.
Throughout the second year, Rick went through other missions. However, most of his missions ended up being bitch work. Aside from the Torso Killer, he had killed Leatherface, Pretty Boy Floyd, and The Woodward Corridor Killer in his career. Each of them had left at least one scar for Rick to keep. Floyd had gotten him with his Tommy Gun. While the bullets weren’t fatal, the battle left Rick in the hospital for a few months, and markings on his arms and sides to show for where he got hit. Leatherface had slashed his left shoulder with a meat cleaver. The Woodward Corridor Killer had stabbed him in the abdomen three times, neither of which pierced his vitals. Finally, most of his scars would come from a battle with Garrison Slitz, the infamous Dark Wire of Detroit.
Rick’s last kill would currently be the most important to him. Garrison Slitz, the Demon Wire, was terrorizing Detroit, Michigan. The Demon Wire was killing innocents indiscriminately, only concerned with obtaining pure souls, and becoming a threat. Needless to say, Rick was sent to take care of him. The battle itself was brutal, with the Dark Wire getting the jump on him. If not for Rick’s dodging, he would’ve killed Rick at that point. After collecting himself thanks to the diversion caused by a police officer, Rick was able to barely kill the Dark Wire, sustaining several cuts on his arms, legs, midsecion, on his face, one horizontally below his cheekbone leaving a slight scar. However, the officer that had saved his life had given his up to stop the Dark Wire.
After spending a few months in the hospital, Rick discovered that he had inherited the Demon Wire’s weapon form. However, due to the influence of the electric soul, and the lack of power provided by consumption of pure souls that Slitz had, Rick’s powers over his weapon form were different from what he had encountered. Rather than extending wire that would cut up a foe, Rick’s arms became two thin, five foot long wires covered in rubber with small, sharp metal tips where sparks came out. Aside from delivering weak electric shocks on contact, the wires contained great physical strength. However, as long as he would use the wires, his energy would drain from him, until he either switched out of Wire form, or he passed out from exhaustion.
Recently, Rick had achieved Soul Resonance. After months of training, and with the help of senior students and staff, Rick discovered that he could gather a great portion of his electric wavelength, and unleash a brutal punch, one with great destructive force. However, while it didn’t drain him like his wire form, it did weaken his Discharge to the point where it would only stun the weakest foe, and his wire form would lack the strength it had, and the shocks would be meaningless in power.

ABILITIES:
THEME ABILITY
ABILITY NAME: Electric Soul/Wavelength
TYPE: Passive
STRENGTH: Skilled
KEYWORDS: Soul, wavelength, electricity, power
DESCRIPTION: Rick's soul is an electric soul, which produces a variant of wavelength known as Electric Wavelength. This allows him to act as a power source for certain electronics if he can find a way to 'plug in' the device onto him. This is accomplished by Rick replacing the prongs on a device with a contact chip that goes onto his body while using the device. Aside from free power, it also powers his Discharge, Wire Tap, and Soul Resonance attacks. For some reason, it prevents him from even stepping in puddles, which could cause him to 'short out' until he got out of the water.
Involved Abilities
- ABILITY NAME: Partial Transformation - Electrode Fingers
TYPE: Active
STRENGTH: Average
KEYWORDS: Partial transformation, electrodes, fingertips
DESCRIPTION: Rick's first partial transformation. His fingertips become white cap-like electrodes. This allows him to discharge electricity from his hands, in the same manner as Harvar D. would in partial transformation. - ABILITY NAME: Discharge Level 2
TYPE: Active
STRENGTH: Skilled
KEYWORDS: Melee, grab, electricity, conductive, stun, nerve disruption, stronger shocks
DESCRIPTION: In his electrode fingers form, Rick grabs the opponent with his hand, and discharges his wavelength down the grabbed foe. Thanks to a combination of training and experience, Discharge has gotten stronger. Not only is the shock more powerful, capable of leaving greater electric burns, but it now has a chance to stun stronger foes. While the previous incarnation of discharge couldn't be fatal in most circumstances, this version of Discharge is capable of killing enemies, though this is rare and will only end up killing weaker foes, and that takes quite a few shocks without a proper conductor.
SUPPORT ABILITIES
- ABILITY NAME: Partial Transformation - Strap Hands
TYPE: Active
STRENGTH: Average
KEYWORDS: Straps, grapple, melee, leather, hands
DESCRIPTION: Rick's second partial transformation involves his hands turning into six foot long straps. The straps themselves won't hurt much if they hit the foe. However, they can be manipulated as if they were his natural hands, and can wrap around objects, pull grabbed objects or people in, among other things. - ABILITY NAME: Partial Transformation - Wire Arms
TYPE: Active
STRENGTH: Skilled
KEYWORDS: Arms, wires, draining, shocks, strength
DESCRIPTION: After his battle with Garrison Slitz, Rick inherited his weapon form as the Demon Wire. While he isn't able to access his full transformation, Rick's arms transform into two five-foot long wires. The wires are coated in protective rubber, while the tips are made of thin metal with sparks shooting out. The shocks delivered from the tips are somewhat painful, but do not stun like Discharge would. However, this partial form offers Rick more physical strength as long as he's in the form. But as long as he's in this form, his energy will quickly drain from his body, and after three posts in this form total, he will pass out. - ABILITY NAME: Taurus Rush
TYPE: Resonance
STRENGTH: Veteran
KEYWORDS: Run, punch, electric, destructive, one-shot
DESCRIPTION: Taurus Charge is when Rick gathers a great deal of his electric wavelength into his right hand, balling it up into a fist once collection is complete, and running up to hit something. So its simply a running strike backed up by large portion of electric wavelength. The impact is powerful enough to do significant, if not fatal damage to a Kishin Egg depending on the area of impact. However, this can only be done once per day. While the ability doesn't cause Rick to fatigue out after use, it does however cause the effectiveness of his other abilities to be cut down severely.
Discharge would be rendered considerably weak, and while it could cause pain, odds of the enemy being stunned by the shock are extremely low. After use of resonance, Discharge lacks conductivity.
The strength of Wire Arms is reduced to the point where it can no longer support Rick's weight. Electric shocks become equal to a brief static shock.
Since they aren't connected to his electric wavelength, the straps are unaffected after use of the resonance. - ABILITY NAME: Physical Conditioning
TYPE: Passive
STRENGTH: Skilled
KEYWORDS:improved strength, improved speed
DESCRIPTION:
This character has undergone special training and conditioning to improve themselves physically, surpassing what are generally considered the limits of the human body in terms of speed, agility, reflexes, and reaction time. However, this is really just the tip of the iceberg; on the scale of super-human attributes this character's abilities rank at 2, maybe 3, out of 10. Examples from Soul Eater include Maka Albarn, Soul Eater Evans, and the Thompson Sisters.
Rick's training has been conditioned towards his speed. While he still lacks brute strength, he can run faster, and his reflexes and reaction time have improved. Before his shoulder injury, he was capable of performing some acts of Parkour similar to those who he shares physical prowess with.
EQUIPMENT:
- Asthma Inhaler: A simple asthma inhaler. Every ten posts he will be required to medicate with the inhaler.
- Shades of Horatio: The Shades of Horatio are a legendary artifact of immense power, worn by the legendary Horatio Caine. These shades grant the wearer the ability to use one-liners, named 'Horatio One-Liners' after the man who made the legend. Unfortunately, these are only a duplicate of the actual artifact used by the great Horatio Caine. Nevertheless, the power of the duplicate isn't watered down compared to the actual shades used by their legendary master.
