Member Ranks is how Shades of Vertigo rewards productive, creative members and gives those with the ability to use it well nigh-on total creative freedom. Please note that you can apply for the next rank up at any time but when and if you get it is dependent on a staff review of your RPing thus far.

AS OF AUGUST 11, DUE TO CHANGES IN THE RULES, ALL NEW MEMBERS WHO ARE NOT UNDER PROVISIONAL PROFILE ACCEPTANCE ARE IMMEDIATELY BUMPED TO FULL MEMBER STATUS ONCE THEIR FIRST PROFILE HAS BEEN ACCEPTED. "INITIATE" RANK IS NO LONGER THE DEFAULT RANK FOR NEW MEMBERS.

FOR PEOPLE CREATING THEIR FIRST CHARACTERS ON THIS FORUM: YOU HAVE FULL ACCESS TO ALL OF THE CHARACTER CREATION PRIVILEGES IN THE FULL MEMBER RANK. HOWEVER, IN THE RARE CASE THAT IT BECOMES APPARENT THAT YOU NEED MENTORSHIP, YOU MUST MODIFY YOUR PROFILE TO FIT THE GUIDELINES OF INITIATE RANK.

INITIATE:
This is only for new members who have been enrolled in our Mentorship Program to improve upon problem areas in the writing that would otherwise severely hinder their ability to participate and post. As the program is meant to be an aid and enabler, NOT a punishment or a dunce cap, Initiates are still accorded freedoms to RP with the supervision of their mentor to track their progress.

• Only one character allowed for now
  
  
• Must be: a Demon Weapon, Meister, or regular human
  
  
• Must have 1:1 ratio of Strengths to Weaknesses
  
  
• Ability slots: 1 Main Ability, 1 Support Ability slot
  
  
• Demon Weapons are limited to one weapon form (not itself an Ability) and one partial transformation Ability.

FULL MEMBER: Members creating their first character on this forum have access to all of these character creation privileges from the get-go. After you've made a character and have no major technical issues that warrant supervision, your account will also immediately be granted Full Member status. You're one of us now, fully and completely.

• Can have up to 3 characters

• In addition to meisters, demon weapons, and Exorcist agents, allowed to also make a limit of ONE of any of these: witch, Kishin Egg, magic animal, human or non-human 'Other', canon characters (including those that are Deathscythes, Three-Star Meisters, and Ascended Witches)
  
  
• But NO non-canon Advanced class characters yet
  
  
• Ability slots for Meister/Demon weapon characters: 1 Main ability slot (must always start out at inept no matter the member rank), 2 support ability slots (Partial transformation of demon weapons DOES NOT count against one of the 2 support ability slots)
  
  
• Witches get a free Weak vehicle -- a flying broom -- as a starter and are limited to one animal form.
  

ADVANCED MEMBER: You’ve RP’d here for a bit and have consistently shown that you can be trusted with the responsibility of powerful characters. The staff agree that you're pretty good at this; welcome to Advanced Membership.

• No limit on numbers of characters you can create
  
  
• Can have ONE Weapon-Meister team composed of their own characters, as well as roleplay both Weapons of a dual-Weapon team (or up to two Weapons in a multi-Weapon team). You'll still need another person's character to serve as the Meister for these more-than-one-Weapon teams, however.
  
  
• The non-Overseer characters of an Advanced Member can now purchase Minions, but at 2x cost.
  
  
• Can also apply for ONE AU character, RP in the Distant Past sections, and have up to three characters specifically for use in Distant Past RPs.
  
  
• Can apply for canon characters who are Shibusen teachers, including Deathscythes, and create OC Shibusen teachers.
  
  
• Ability slots: 1 Main Ability, 4 Support Ability Slots
  
  
• Only need a 2:1 ratio of Strengths of Weaknesses now
  

VETERAN MEMBER: You've been with us for at least a month and convinced most of the staff that you're pretty hot stuff, RP-wise.

• Can apply for up to three (3) AU characters (total), have as many Distant Past characters as they wish, and even start their own Faction! Additionally, Veteran Members can apply for Canon Characters that are not available at previous ranks. See current list for details
  
  
• Can create new characters / character teams who are already Shibusen elite students or Spartoi (must still apply to join a squad), one (1) Full Kishin character, Ascended Witch, Three-Star Meister (for canon characters ONLY), or Deathscythe (including Canons), AND as many Weapon and Meister teams as they desire, including complete dual-Weapon and even multi-Weapon (more than two Demon Weapons) teams.
  
  
• Dual and Multi-Weapon teams WILL require approval from no less than three staff members, however. The characters of such teams need to be RPed through ONE account, however, so Point earnings per character will be SLOW. (Of course, by now your characters are all super powerful anyway.)
  
  
• A Veteran's non-Deathscythe Demon Weapons can start with up to 30 Kishin Souls to their tally if desired and up to three Weapon Forms.
  
• May purchase additional animal forms for witch characters from the Point Shop, including legendary creatures (dragon, dire wolf, chimera, etc.)
  
• Overseer characters may now purchase NPC Minions at 50% off and can now purchase standard Abilities at the normal cost; additionally, all of that character's Minions "auto-regenerate" after Missions if destroyed.
  
  
• May purchase a Base / Hangout / Lair for their characters
  
  
• Ability slots: 1 Main Ability, 5 Support Abilities
  
  
• Only need 3:1 Strength to Weaknesses ratio
  

VANGUARD MEMBER:

• Immediately earn one (1) FREE Base / Hangout / Lair and 1000 Points sent to the account of their choice
  
  
• You can also create an entire Spartoi Squad (or the non-Shibusen equivalent) comprised of your own characters if you want, apply for as many AU characters as you think you can keep up with, and be considered for certain high-level staff positions.
  
  
• Do not gain any additional bonuses to character creation
  
  
• Only need 1 solid Weakness to any number of Strengths. For any character you make from here on out is solely up to the staff's discretion of whether it is too powerful and needs to be toned down or not.
