Member Ranks are an important part of how things work at Shades of Vertigo, particularly in relation to the main RP. They're an indicator not only of RP skill and the time spent as part of our community but also a badge of trust from the forum staff. Every new member* starts at Full Member and works their way up; each Member Rank bestowed unlocks greater and greater creative freedoms, from more starting Abilities for characters to leading your own unique Faction. It's even possible to eventually become the personal Champion of a staff member (or become staff yourself) through skill and dedication to RP and the community.
This thread is for those members wishing to apply for a Member Rank promotion. Please note that you can only apply for the next rank up from your current rank and that you must meet all the prerequisites before the staff will consider you.
To apply for promotion, please fill out & post the following:
ALT USERNAMES: (Link to all the alternate usernames you currently use on Shades of Vertigo. This is so we can update all of your accounts when you are promoted.)
CURRENT RANK: (Your current Member Rank.)
DESIRED RANK: (The Member Rank you are applying for. Note that you can only apply for the next Rank in sequence.)
RP SAMPLES: (Link to three {3} recent RP threads that you've participated in. 'Recent' is defined as threads you've posted in within the last six months. You should showcase your best work here -- this material is what the staff will evaluate you based on.)[/ul]
Please note that, whether you are promoted or no, you must wait 20 days from when the staff answer your request before you can again apply for promotion.
The Member Ranks -- and the base requirements -- are as follows:
Full Member ~ Automatic rank for all new members NOT in the Mentorship Program with one character accepted.
Advanced Member ~ One month. 20 posts minimum.
Veteran Member ~ One month.
Vanguard Member ~ Requires an"honor duel" with a staff member or Champion.
Champion ~ Selection by an RP Mod, G-Mod, or Admin.

[Please note that the staff may decide to promote individuals "out of the blue" based on observed merit, as is their prerogative. However, we can't have eyes on every excellent RPer and sometimes deserving people don't get the attention they should. Thus, this thread is to help bring such people to our attention so they can be given the recognition and promotion they deserve.]
