(Territory Control setup not complete; please wait for official release.)
Headquarters are a Faction's most essential territory, the one thing they must not lose. For the "main four" Factions (Shibusen, Witches of the Mass, Exorcists, and Heretic Cabal) the defeat of a headquarters is the beginning of a "siege" -- while under siege things get progressively worse for the Faction. The immediate consequences are the loss of all Minions garrisoned at the Headquarters and the inability to use any Territory Bonuses for the duration of the siege; if the siege lasts a full month then the Faction Leader loses half the Points in their account; if the siege goes on for two months the Faction's Loyalists will not be allowed to defend any claimed Territories until the siege lifts; finally, if a siege lasts a full three months then the Faction loses ALL its Territories to whomever holds the Headquarters.
For player-made Factions a Headquarters defeat results in the Faction being disbanded for one full month, all held Territories reverting to 'Unclaimed' status, and the Points in your Faction Leader account being reset to zero.
So defend your Headquarters with all due force! Losing one is a serious setback to any Faction. If you manage to take an enemy Faction's Headquarters, though, you have the option to ransom it back to them... if they agree to your demands!
(Note that any drastic actions -- like blowing up an HQ, especially of a 'main four' Faction -- will require staff approval beforehand.)
Shibusen HQ
Serving as both school and administration center, the iconic central building of the Shibusen organization in Death City is recognized worldwide. Besides being built like a fortress and naturally defensible, Shibusen is defended not only by upwards of a hundred Weapons and Meisters at any given time but Shinigami himself. Only the bravest, most powerful, or utterly foolish would even consider attacking this bastion of power.
Shibusen HQ is automatically defended from aggressive action by the school's students; characters aligned with Shibusen but not designated as Loyalists may fight in defense of this HQ.
Defense Power: Death Itself
For purpose of defending this HQ the Faction Leader may request temporary access to the Shinigami staff account, putting one of the most powerful characters in Soul Eater under their control. (NOTE: If Shinigami dies and is replaced by Kid in future manga releases, this power will be reworked as necessary.)[/ul]
Victory and defeat conditions for this HQ will be laid out by overseeing staff once an attack thread has been posted.
Witches' Sanctuary
The ancient sanctum of the loosely affiliated Witches of the Mass, the hallowed land of dark magic and personal domain of the Grand Witch. Here in a half-crumbling old castle the witches gather in fey fellowship; nearby, a prison holding their enemies stands testimony to their supremacy over this place. Those who do not know it cannot find it, and those rare few who stumble across it quickly wish they had never done so...
The location of this Headquarters is a closely guarded secret; what's more, it is hidden from prying eyes by powerful magics, making it nearly impossible for anyone to find it. Any Faction wishing to attack this HQ must first complete a staff-run Mission to reveal its location -- if successful, that Faction (and any allies) will now be able to attack this HQ at will. The required Mission must only be completed once.
Defense Power: Destructive Energies
The sway of magic is unusually strong in this place. Destructive magic Abilities can be used without cool-downs; if the Ability has no cool-down or similar limitation then players may use a more powerful version of the Ability (within reason). This does not effect non-destructive magic; also, healing magic has an enforced (additional) two post cool-down between uses.[/ul]
Victory and defeat conditions for this HQ will be laid out by overseeing staff once an attack thread has been posted.
Exorcist Headquarters
A tall tower-island rising up in the midst of the Patapsco river, Exorcist Headquarters is nothing if not a modern military fortress. Though the tower itself is used mostly by paper-pushers and administrators the lower levels of the island itself are the central hub for all Exorcist operations worldwide, supplying their forces with custom equipment, tools, weaponry, vehicles, and experimental technologies.
One does not build a giant tower in the middle of a river and assume it won't be attacked; as military professionals, the Exorcists are prepared to defend their main base tooth and nail. The backbone of the tower's defenses is an array of computer coordinated robotic micro-missile and gun turrets built into the Spire, Forge, and Ring areas. There are literally dozens of these concealed both on the inside and outside; once activated they can target enemies on the ground, in the air, or coming across the water. Any attacker will find they have to contend with these hidden guns almost every step of the way, making this a hard nut to crack.[/ul]
Victory and defeat conditions for this HQ will be laid out by overseeing staff once an attack thread has been posted.
Fey Cten
The secret underground base of the Heretic Cabal, Fey Cten is both fortress and spider mecha, constantly on the move as it digs its way underground from one end of the world to another. Along the way the Heretics dig up valuables, perform gruesome experiments, and craft weapons both magical and mundane for use in their fiendish plots. It's notable features include powerful drills on its legs, jaws, and rear as well as the ability to detach its back half (the R&D / shrine section) to keep their greatest secrets out of harm's way.
Fey Cten is more than just a Headquarters; it's also a mobile assault platform that specializes in attacks from underground. As such, the Faction Leader may use Fey Cten itself as a (massive) vehicle for Missions and Territory Control actions, both offensive and Defensive. While surprisingly fast underground it is exceedingly slow and lumbering on the surface; long exposure to aquatic environments is not advised, as the giant mechanical spider was never built to be a boat or submarine. Its armor is thick but not impenetrable. It's main weapons are its drills and pincer-jaws; the Faction Leader may purchase additional weaponry if they choose (list each weapon as a new Defensive Power).
Note that using Fey Cten to attack or defend a separate Territory makes the Headquarters itself a target; if an enemy seizes the Territory while Fey Cten is present then the Headquarters is also taken and a siege begins. Once it enters a thread -- any RP thread -- Fey Cten requires four full turns to withdraw, during which it cannot use its drills to attack or defend.
Since the base is mobile and difficult to find a staff-run Mission is required for any Faction to locate it. Once attacked, if Fey Cten escapes it becomes "un-found" again unless there is significant in-story justification allowing it to be tracked.[/ul]
Victory and defeat conditions for this HQ will be laid out by overseeing staff once an attack thread has been posted.

[TERRITORIES]
Scattered across the world are places of interest -- locations that could be quite valuable, both to Factions and individual characters.
Territories come in two flavors: claimed and unclaimed. A claimed Territory is already the property of a given Faction or Freelancer; if you want to take it you'll need to fight them for it. Unclaimed Territories are open game but can have a few... surprises. Taking initial ownership might be as easy as planting your flag or you may end up fighting Freelancers or Loyalists from several other Factions for it; the Territory may even have an attached Mission that's required in order to take over.
In either case, successfully claiming a Territory gets your Faction access to its Territory Bonus. Some Territory Bonuses will read as '???' initially; the Bonus is revealed either by capturing the Territory or using the Recon Bonus from certain Territories to discover it.
All Territories currently in play are listed below.
The former headquarters of Arachnophobia, deep in the heart of the Amazon Jungle, was ravaged by the war with Shibusen and ultimately left to rot. Although the school's leaders are relatively sure everything of value was either destroyed or taken by recovery teams this place may very still well have some secrets, even after more than five years...

This small remote town in the forests of Russia once supplied the world with golems, useful as both charms against evil and for purposes of manual labor. Though the golems were put to more martial use during the conflict with Arachnophobia some of the village's Enchanters managed to stay neutral. Now, years later, the people of Loew simply want to get back to living peacefully... but it's not likely.

It's grinning face is a familiar sight to all; even when its massive jaw drips with blood the world hardly takes notice. Yet few have ever set foot on its cratered surface. In the wake of Shibusen's fateful mission the world has taken a new interest in the moon, however, to say nothing of what might be waiting up there.
