MAIN USERNAME: Nageki
LOYALIST / FREELANCER / ROLEPLAY-ONLY: Roleplay-Only
CHARACTER NAME: Manuel Ventura
RACE: Human
CLASS: Exorcist Director
AGE: 38
GENDER: Male
APPEARANCE: Manuel's appearance exudes both authority and mystery. He dresses very professionally, typically consisting of dark-colored dress shirts, shoes, and trousers with a lighter colored vest and tie. He also wears arm bands around his biceps so the material doesn't get pulled or strained when he moves his arms. His hair is snow-white and pulled back in somewhat unkempt manner. His skin has a tan to it and he has a small amount of dark brown facial hair around his chin. His professional look disguises that Manuel is actually very physically fit, having lean, well-toned muscles. The item that makes Manuel stand out, however, is the visor over his eyes. Silver and giving off a faint red glow, the visor covers Manuel's face from the nose up. Underneath the visor are some small ports for it to make its neural link as well as various scars over his eyes.
MADNESS THEME: Control. Manuel always strives to be in control of a situation, and begins making irrational decisions whenever he feels as though he is losing his control. This is typically caused by unforeseen factors in his mission plans, such as Shibusen students or staff arriving on a scene, or any casualties that happen when he's running an operation.
ABILITIES:
[MAIN ABILITY]
[SUPPORT ABILITIES]
EQUIPMENT:
VEHICLES:
LOYALTY: Exorcists
KEY ATTRIBUTES:
PERSONALITY: To say that Manuel is a stoic individual would be an understatement, in fact some may even say he's completely detached from his humanity. Manuel leads the Exorcists with a cold, ruthless disposition. The only person he listens to that openly disagrees with his harsh methods is Gabriel Preston, a man who he respects deeply.
Manuel harbors an intense dislike of Demon Weapons and is the driving force behind that mentality among the Exorcists. While he isn't an evil man by any means, Manuel is very closed-minded on this issue above any others due to his past. He is fully aware of his vulnerabilities when it comes to madness, which is why Preston has so much pull with the Exorcists; he's the "backup plan" in case Manuel starts to show symptoms of madness.
HISTORY: A career politician born from an exceedingly wealthy family, Manuel has always had his sights set on one position: The top. No matter where he is, he stops at noting short of being the top dog. In school, in work, and ultimately in politics he's always one step ahead of his competitors. When he was 22 he found his start in politics as an assistant to an Ambassador to Spain. While he was there, he had an encounter that would change the course of his life as politician from one simply focused on greater control to the hatred of Demon Weapons.
While in Spain, Manuel was attacked by a Weapon who had given in to madness. The attack left him scarred across his eyes, rendering him blind. The Ventura family financed a great deal of medical research, which led them to commission a device being built to restore the sight of their only son. After over a year of research and surgery, Manuel was once again able to see and resume his career. This time, the young man found himself on a different path.
The attack left Manuel with a deep hatred of Demon Weapons. After all, had they not existed, he would still be using his own eyes to see, but his logic went back even further. He firmly believed that if Demon Weapons never existed, the world would be a safer place. Over the next 15 years after his sight was restored, Manuel fought to bring about a world devoid of Demon Weapons. It started small, such as attempting to pass a legislation that would bar Demon Weapons from being able to have a residence anywhere other than Death City.
Eventually, his crusade led him to a single conclusion: For Demon Weapons to become unnecessary, Shibusen must not be the only force in the world that stands against Kishin or Evil Humans. There needed to be a force that relied on trained adults and firepower rather than children using what basically amounted to magic in his mind. With this in mind, Manuel pushed for the creation of the Exorcists, a foundation that would serve as a rival and eventual replacement for Shibusen.
At first, he found no support for this idea. He persisted at it despite this, believing it to be the best solution possible. After Asura was released, support started to come in, and eventually, after Asura's defeat, the Exorcists were officially sanctioned. Manuel was placed at the head of the organization, and is almost always at their HQ.
