Ren's eyes flickered open slowly, her dark red eyes quickly scanned her room again, she had just woken from a nap, to clear her head from everything that had happened. "It wasn't a dream then..." she thought to herself as she swung he feet over the side of the bed, slowly lifting herself up to her feet. She smiled for a brisk moment as she exited her new room and went down the stairwell, waving goodbye to her new parents she sashayed out the door and on to the street. "I suppose I might as well get used to this city.." she thought to herself as she flipped her braided pony tail off her shoulder to go back behind her.
Ren slowly walked around the town, taking in ever last bit of detail, every now and then her eyes would look over at Shibusen, visible from almost anywhere in the town. She sighed and kept on with her walking, thinking about the thought of joining the academy and learning how to be a successful weapon. Ren quickly shrugged the thought off her mind and kept on walking, continuing to remember every last detail about the town that she now called home.
After a few moments Ren decided she would take a quick break, as her legs began to slowly get tired from her walking around. She looked around for a certain restaurant, the one that her new parents had found her at, after a few quick seconds of scanning she found it and went over to sit down in front of it. Ren slowly crouched down and sat on the ground, leaning back against the wall of the restaurant, this time with a smile, rather than a frown. She looked up to the sun, which had already gotten half past its descent to allow the moon in the sky, she began thinking further and further about her new life in Death City, wondering what to do.

Despite his wishes, the older Meister Jacob Gunner realized a store wasn't going to advertise itself. With that in mind he and his partner, the Demon Revolver Amaya Aoki, ventured out into Death City, placing small advertisements on walls and poles. They were very plain 8 and a half by 11 paper ads that read: "Dead End: Your one-stop shop for entertainment! Lounge available." As per usual, his partner was silent as the grave, quietly and stealthily placing the ads on the opposite side of the street. Eventually, they ran out of papers and just as quietly met up on the same side of the street. They were close to the end of the street they were on, so they decided to simply take a stroll around the corner. Cool as always, Jacob was not the least bit unnerved by the silence, nor was he surprised when Amaya decided to speak up. "Hey... um... the store is doing fine, isn't it...? Why add the lounge?" -- "We're not exactly rolling in dough but yeah, we're doing OK. The lounge might bring about more business, though. I know when I'm playing some games I'm wishing there were more people around to play with." -- He said it with a grin, unaware of the implications of his statement. Amaya looked towards the ground, obviously crushed. "Am... am I not good enough at them...?" -- Immediately realizing his mistake in word choice, Jacob's composure finally broke as he waved his hands at the girl who wasn't just his Weapon partner, but his best friend. "No no! I didn't mean it like that! You're fine! It's just, some games can have 4 or more people, and it occurred to me that making a place for them to meet up would be cool, ya know?" -- "If you say so... just... don't leave me alone again... OK?" -- "Wouldn't dream of it. Sorry if I made it sound that way." -- As the two fumbled over their words, they came across an unfamiliar girl who seemed lost in thought. While he wanting to pitch his store to this girl, he realized that she was just that: a girl. He was already treading on thin ice with Amaya, so he needed to create an alternative. The analytical Meister leaned in close to the Revolver's ear and whispered. "Psst. Why don't you try talking to her? Make a sales pitch or something, maybe just strike up a conversation? She looks like she's exploring with no destination. Must be new here." -- Amaya looked at her partner with a puzzled look. On the one hand, she knew why he was asking her to do this: To try and improve her ability to talk to people. Jacob was still the only person she count talk to comfortably, and even that produced very little conversation. Normally she would dismiss such a request, but something seemed to nudge her towards it. She wasn't sure what it was yet. She thought to herself "Come on, Amaya, you can do this!" as she stepped toward the girl. "H... Hi." -- She felt just a little bit overwhelmed with herself that she accomplished something, but her mind went blank immediately afterwards. She just stood there, with a blank look to match her lack of words. Jacob silently put his face in his palm. Still, there wasn't much that could be done now. "Smooth, Amaya. Hey there, she's Amaya Aoki, and I'm Jacob Gunner." --

Ren's eyes stayed fixated on the sun, while it made its slow descent to the edge of the earth. While she did so though, she paid attention to her peripheral vision, seeing the meister and weapon team combination out of the corner of her eye. "They look like they are putting posters up, for something, I wonder what it is..." she thought to herself, keeping the bit of smile on her face as she thought to herself more and more.
Ren's ear flicked with each step that the pair made toward her as she started listening slightly to them now, she had heard the boy whisper something into the girls ear, though unclear of what he had said she thought that they were just talking something over. After a measly few seconds, she was taken off guard as the two approached her, the girl first, stuttering a bit as she spoke the word 'Hi,' next the boy followed up behind her, quickly introducing themselves.
Ren's head had quickly snapped over to look at the two, studying the girl quickly before her red eyes jumped to the boy next to her, "Shibusen students?" she thought to herself as she scanned the two. After she had thought for a moment she then replied to the pair. "Hello.. I'm Ren.. Ren Makoto." she said up to them, speaking quietly. She slowly pushed herself up off the ground, to stand at her full height of five foot and four inches, she then quickly checked her gloves, making sure they were pulled up and not showing her tattoos hidden beneath them.

Amaya still looked like a deer caught in the headlights. Jacob sighed and put his hand on top of her head. He really wanted her to try and talk to people more. Yes, she is his friend, but he can't be the only person she relies on. Jacob himself has at least a few other friends he can talk to, hang out with, and all that good stuff. Amaya always clung to her Meister like a lost child, and Jacob is very understanding of this given her past, but she needed to be able to stand on her own when they were in the relative safety of Death City. "Nice to meet you, Ren. Amaya and I help run a shop in the City on top of... being... well, we're not done with Shibusen, but we're done with most classes." -- He removed his hand from the head of his partner, who appears to be quite annoyed at the gesture. She shot a glare in his direction so sharp it could cut through steel. All Jacob could do was grin in a taunting manner, as if to say "Want to stop being treated like a kid? Stop acting like one." He was hoping that would push her into saying more than one word, and it seems to have worked. Jacob shifted his grin to a general one rather than a taunting one and placed his hands in his pockets. "We're... trying to promote the store right now." -- "Right. Hey, I've got an idea. You look like you're new around here, and the shop is a good ways from here. You can come relax there for a bit and see some of the sights on the way. Deal?" --

Ren watched Jacob place his hand on to his partner's hand, curious a bit of if her partner, if she ever got one, would be like that. She sighed for a moment, pushing the meister and weapon thought idea out of her mind, if she needed to she would be by herself and collect the souls, without any help. After a few seconds, she realized that Jacob had asked her a question, "Oh.. Uhm, I guess.. I mean I... Don't have anything else to do.. I suppose I could.." she said, babbling on a little bit, she then bit her lower lip to stop herself from talking.
Ren checked her gloves again, by pulling them up to make sure they were on, "What type of store is it... by the way..?" she asked, this time choosing her words carefully before saying any of them. She took a step back, thinking she was too close to the pair and thinking she was make Amaya nervous. Again, Ren's thought of being with a meister seeped back into her mind, "No.. I don't need to think about this now... It will all come together later on... If I decide to join Shibusen anyways... Maybe these two might be able to give me more information about the school... Or maybe they will just tell me I shouldn't join it at all... Or maybe this is just a trap and they are working with witches!" she thought in her head, all of her thoughts getting jumbled up. She then reached up and grabbed her hand for a second, relaxing her mind and pushing all thoughts away, instead she focused on the pair in front of her and slowly lowered her hand.

As someone who's entire combat strategy revolves around quick reaction and visual observation, Jacob couldn't help but notice how Ren kept pulling on her gloves. What reason was there for that? It made her seem fidgety, and by extension it makes her look suspicious. Scenarios started to run through the Meister's head, but being the optimist he is, he decided that the reason for it must be there was something under there that she didn't want anyone to see. Unless they were along the lines of runes or other mystical markings that allowed her to cast spells, there was no need for concern. Besides! Those don't actually exist! Jacob's love for his own merchandise sometimes made him consider things that weren't really there. Then, in a fashion similar to what the white-clad girl had done, a few seconds had passed before he realized that a question was asked. He quickly struck an pose, placing one hand on his hip and pointing the other out directly at Ren's face as an enormous grin appeared on his face. "Excellent of you to ask! Our store, Dead End, is your one stop source for varying forms of entertainment! Music, TV, Movies, Books, Video Games, even Board Games and some action figures can be found!" -- He released the pose, then but continued to speak with a hint of extravagance as fitting for someone doing an advertisement. Rather than pointing now, he crossed his arms and the grin lowered just a fraction. "We also recently opened a small lounge where customers can grab some refreshments and possibly engage in conversation with their fellow media enthusiasts!" -- Amaya just stood there and looked at Jacob with a wide-eyed envy. She had never really seen him try this before, but it looked as though he had done it a million times from how effortlessly he made it through that explanation. She turned back to Ren, curious as Jacob was to hear the reaction. Personally she didn't care much for the name "Dead End" but in a city like this? It makes enough sense for her to live with it.

Ooc: ugh!! I got soooo bored waiting on my computer charger to come in I have decided to try and rp with my phone, please excuse any spelling errors if I make them I will try and fix them if I can!
IC: Ren blinked slowly at the boy as she then realized he was watching her pull up her gloves, she quickly bit her lower lip and started to hope that he didn't figure out what was under them. After a little bit she loosened her bit on her lips and eventually let it slip away from her teeth and fall back into its original position, while Jacob was explaining what his store had inside it. Ren's eyes slowly move and looked at Amaya and she began to wonder why the girl wasn't speaking very much at all, especially with her partner and friend beside her, trying to help her even.
Eventually Ren focused on what the boy was suing an she realized that they sold things that wouldn't be much interest to her, since A) she had no money and B) she don't know what types of entertainment she liked yet. She blinked her eyes slowly at the boy again, now thinking what to say, "It's not like I can just say no and walk away... They are so friendly.. I don't know what to do.. she thought to herself as she stood there dumbfounded for a moment or two.
After a few moments if contemplation Ren realized they were waiting on he response, "Oh.. Uhm.. I suppose I can go.. I don't think my parents would mind... I don't think I could buy anything though.. I also don't really have that many entertainment interests either... she said to them, slowly trailing off with what she was saying and going silent, now mumbling to herself. After a few seconds she shut up and pulled on her gloves once more, before flipping her pony tail to the other side of her head.

Amaya's eyes widened just a slight amount as she heard Ren's response. It's almost as if this girl was a kindred spirit, as Amaya herself only tagged along with her Meister when it came to entertainment. She played the games that he played, watched what he watched, and while she enjoys it there was a sense of detachment. As if she were merely going through the motions instead of truly enjoying herself. In fact... her general demeanor seemed similar as well. Just as the dual-toned hair of Amaya served to cover her scar over her left eye, she sensed that Ren was using her gloves to cover something. She wanted to... speak? Is that what she wanted to do? That must be what this sensation is. Just as she decided she wanted to act on it, Jacob spoke up. "Hey, not a problem. We can introduce you to not just one new world, but several! You can find something that strikes your fancy and then come back later to buy it!" -- He was in salesman mode at this point. He felt a little silly doing these pitches, but it was necessary. He was preparing another advertisement in his mind when he felt a slight tug on the back of his shirt. The laid-back Meister turned to see it was Amaya, looking up at him with a strange look on her face. They had known each other long enough to pick up on their signals and body language, but Jacob had never seen this expression before. "What's up, Amaya?" -- "... I want to talk to her." -- Jacob nearly fell over from shock. She wanted to speak to someone without using him as a middleman?! Was he dreaming? A huge smile popped onto the Meister's face as placed his hand on Amaya's shoulder. "Ha! You don't need my permission! Go ahead!" -- He then walked just a little bit away, close enough to observe, but far enough away to give his partner some space. Amaya watched him as he pulled away, and then turned her attention to Ren. While she was motivated by sincerity, her face was still stuck in its typical neutral expression, and her voice still sounded odd with that slight rasp to it. "So... uh... I... I'd like it if you came with us. We can just... talk. Your arms... are you hiding something...?" -- She was lacking in direction and her question was very blunt, but Jacob was simply amazed at what he just saw. She didn't ask him what to say or how to say it, she chose to initiate this conversation completely on her own. He started to wonder what it could be that brought this on, but he was just hoping that the incredibly blunt question didn't drive the girl off.

Ren watched Jacob as he continued his sales pitch, one ear perked to listen while the other one was hidden behind some of her loose hair, listening to the sounds around her. She began to get a little bit of an interest as the boy said that they would help he find something she would like and enjoy to do. She blinked her eye slowly as she say Amaya out if the corner of her eye, before she had tugged on Jacob's shirt. Ren wondered why she had gotten a sudden change of character for a second, before shaking it out of her mind.
When the two began talking to each other for a moment she took a step over to the wall, as to lean back against and wait for them to converse before talking her response to them. She blinked up at the sky as she heard Jacob step away and Amaya step closer, she quickly turned to face the girl and stop back up straight again. Ren tugged on her gloves once more, before Amaya had asked her question.
The white haired girl stopped in mid pull of her second glove, holding on to it for a moment, "A-Are they... on to me...? she thought to herself as the emotion in her eyes quickly changed to a bit of a scared and worried expression. Ren barely had time to think she wondered what to say, standing there for a moment with her right hand on her left glove, after several antagonizing seconds she formed the words to say in her mind, "Oh...I just.. Uhm... Wear these for show..." she said, half lying to them.
She took a small step back from the pair, finally dropping her hand from her glove, it was obvious she was worried they would did out what was user her gloves and ah had no intention of showing them willingly. Her red eye quivered for a second, as she ran worst case scenarios through her head, she took a Devon step back and didn't date get any closer to the weapon and meister team, while she awaited their response.

OOC: The smartphone auto-correct is strong with this one. I think I was able to work it out though XD IC: That reaction was all the proof the duo needed. Jacob felt the need to scream out "OBJECTION!" due to playing too much of the Attorney games on one of his handhelds, but he held it in. He could tell that something had come over his partner, and he was curious to see what it was. Despite the step back that Ren had taken, Amaya reached out and grabbed her hand. The look on the Demon Revolver's face was a sympathetic one, her visible eye meeting Ren's. "It's OK... I've got something I hide too..." -- She took her free hand and pulled back the hair covering her left eye, revealing the vertical scar along it. Jacob stood there with his mouth hanging open in shock. Amaya did everything in her power to keep that scar from sight, mainly at his suggestion. The idea was the leave the past behind her, and that seemed to work most of the time. However, here he saw that it could have a purpose for her in connecting with similar people. Ren didn't look like the same kind of person Amaya was, but it was clear she felt a connection somewhere. Seeing his partner take the initiative like this warmed the Meister's heart, but this wasn't over yet. How would this girl react to Amaya's little revelation? Amaya was, surprisingly enough to Jacob, seeing her as a potential friend, but Jacob was fully aware that his partner was being too up-front about this. While it was an effective idea to him, he wasn't sure if it would play out that way. He was running over the scenarios in his head as he waited to see what the two Weapons would do.

Ren quickly pulled her hand back from Amaya, after she had shown her the scar on her eye. She blinked at the scare the demon revolver had shown her, she blinked slowly, and a bit nervously as she took another step back from the pair. She gritted her teeth behind her lips a little bit, "What should I do...? This girl showed me a secret of hers.. but I don't want to show what marks me as an outcast forever..." she thought to herself as she slid her left hand up her right hand glove, debating in her mind whether or not to show what she had hidden under them ever since she had ran away from her previous family and gotten to Death City.
After a few what seemed like endless second, Ren bit her a tiny bit of her lower lip and let it slip out from her teeth, settling back in its previous place. "Fine.. I will show you what I have to hide as well..." she said as her left hand once again slipped up to the top of her right glove. She grasped the glove and pulled it down, sliding it down her arm and eventually slipping it off her hand as well, she did the same with her other glove. On her right arm was two red crosses, each of their ends starting at Ren's middle finger, one went over the top of her hand and one on the bottom, when the tattoos escaped the hand at the wrist they began to spiral all the way up her arm, ending slightly above her elbow. On her left arm the same pattern was repeated, but in the color white.
"My family that I had lived with before coming here to Death City... They had branded me with these tattoos, which forever mark me as an outcast... Someone who doesn't belong... I've hated these ever since I acquired them, that is why I cover them up. she said to the pair, holding her two gloves tightly in her left hand, she wanted to pull them back on before anyone else saw, but decided against it. She stood there motionless as she waited for the pair to speak their response.

Jacob grinned at the scene unfolding in front of him. He could tell that this was a huge step for Amaya's lack of social skills. Sure, she still needed a lot of work in the subtlety department, but it looks like she might have made a friend. Ren was clearly nervous about this, and the Meister was prepared to relieve some of that, but Amaya spoke up first. "This scar is a mark of my weakness... my shortsightedness. I hate my mark as well... it's why we hide them... right...?" -- Amaya lowered her head. Explaining what happened in detail would be painful for her. She couldn't really find a way to explain it due to trauma from the incident. She keeps it locked away, trying her best to leave it in the past. Jacob decided to leave a moment for the white-clad girl to collect her thoughts, then approached the two again. He placed his hand on Amaya's shoulder, and she looked up at him with her usual blank expression. That empty look that suppressed her feelings. He gave her a reassuring grin to signify how happy he was then spoke to Ren. "Don't worry about your tattoos. Amaya here is as secretive as a Sphinx, and what she keeps, I keep. I think you should come with us now more than before. You're the first person Amaya's even talked to like this." -- Jacob turned to lead the way, while Amaya looked back at Ren and simply nodded before following her partner. The Demon Revolver hid an expression from Ren by turning her back: she had the slightest of grins on her face. It was so understated that even Jacob didn't notice it, mainly because he was too busy smiling himself. He turned his torso back so he could face Ren again. "Just follow us, all right? If you'd rather not then speak up now, we'll understand." --

Ren listened carefully to what Amaya had to say, she quickly understood that Amaya was hiding her secret more than Ren was hiding hers. She blinked slowly for a second, knowing that her tattoos were more of a mark that set her out from people, where as Amaya was one that was traumatic for her. Ren thought for a second, wondering if the scar might also be the reason Amaya has bad social skills.
After a few seconds of silence, she snapped her head to Jacob, listening now to his words, she blinked at her normal speed now as her eyes watched Jacob's lips moving, more watching what he had to say than listening to it. Once Jacob had finished Ren sighed, her hand unclenched her gloves a little bit, before sliding them back onto her hand and pulling them further and further up her arms until it covered her tattoos.
"I already said I was going to go with you, didn't I?" she said to them, a bit teasingly as she though about what the two had said. She slowly took a step forward, ready to follow them, her usual emotionless expression on her face, but in her mind she was thinking that she might have actually made some friends. Her ponytail was slowly flicked to the other side of her head as she waited for them to move so that she could follow them.

Jacob's pace was slow as he glanced at his partner's face as he started to lead the way. Before, Amaya's smile was simple and barely visible. After hearing that Ren would definately be coming along, the smile became more profound. It still wasn't the radiant "I just made a friend!" smile one would expect, but it was enough for Jacob to pick up on it. He was overwhelmingly happy that his partner had made a friend. Sure, the two have barely talked, but even that small amount was more than he'd ever managed to get her to talk to someone without him initiating the conversation. The laid-back Meister put his hands behind his head in a relaxed fashion. "So, what were you up to before we stumbled across you? You had that look like you were trying to decide what to do." -- Amaya glanced back at Ren, her face has returned to its neutral look before her visible eye locked on to her potential new friend. "He likes to do this, picking up on what people are feeling." -- The Meister did pride himself on his high level of perception when it came to people, but mostly in a combat sense. The years the Meister and Weapon had been partners and never once did she mention to Jacob that his habit had a tendency to spill into everyday life. He moved his right hand to the bottom of his chin after crossing his arms, looking like he was thinking. The look was less of deep thought and more of a look of confusion. "Really? Hm... well... huh. I guess I do like to do that, huh?" -- The Meister let out a light chuckle and let his arms rest at his side, walking normally again. This was going to gnaw away at him the rest of the day, thinking back to how many people he's done that to. He knows he's done that to Amaya since it was the basis for their meeting, but he always saw it as a strength for talking to people, not a potential irritation. Sure, no one had given any indication of that before, but the idea stuck in his head as the first possibility for Amaya's statement. He still had a bewildered look on his face as he continued to lead Ren to their store.

Ren had already been following the two for awhile, before Jacob had asked his question to her. She kept her mouth shut a little bit, wondering exactly what to say before Amaya talked over to her. At Amaya's words Ren chuckled slightly, and then once again as Jacob responded to what Amaya had said. She let a short and hard to see smile hit her lips as she walked with them further to their store that she had heard about from them and by reading the posters on their way to the store, the ones the pair had put up together.
After a few seconds Ren realized that she had been asked a question and hadn't responded yet. She blinked for a second, wanting to 'facepalm' herself for not answering right after the two had quickly conversed for a second. "Oh I was just thinking about Shibusen, wondering if I should join it or not, I already had someone show me around it, but I haven't been able to come to a decision, I'd probably just be put in the NOT class anyways... Especially without a meister." she said to the two, her smile slowly slipping away into a thinking face.
She sighed and pulled her gloves back up again as they passed a few pedestrians, "Anyways.. It isn't that much of importance. After all I'm just a measly weapon, no point in trying right now." she added as she shrugged a bit, keeping in step with the two. She went back to her normal expressionless look after speaking her words, wondering if they would think she was a depressing person now, she instead shrug the though off her mind.
