It was very, very rare for Nova to get caught red-handed listening to music in class, and when that happened, she normally got detention. Today was one of them. Today also happened to be the day she was off work, so she had no excuse not to turn up and do whatever 'manual' labour she was meant to be having a day off of! Still, it made no difference to the school what she did in her spare time. Unless is consisted of killing humans and devouring their souls. But for the next, most boring, laborious and pointless hour of her life Nova was left to clean up the library. After school was surprisingly busy. It was big enough, there were books by every author, every comic book and how-to manual. Nova would swear there was an adult section, given you looked hard enough. She, however, was yet to find it.
By the desk where you'd sign out books, stood a huge pile of returns, which had to be placed back where they belonged, in alphabetical order genre and then sub genre. Seriously, sometimes the system for placing books in this vast Library was too complicated for the weapons brain. For the better part of 5 minutes, Nova stood in front of the Everest pile, not quite sure where to start. Though picking up a book would be a good place to begin. Her expression was one of hopelessness, she could be doing something productive with her time! Fox needed feeding, dammit! The poor little dog was probably...
...probably chewing on her converse boots.
"Ugh..." Nova's shoulders dropped. Not that she needed another excuse to spend money, she didn't like it but with a puppy Shiba Inu in your apartment you just know your going back home to see something destroyed. So far it had just been chewing on table legs and door frames, though Nova has somehow managed to get Fox to stop tearing anything wooden. All that was left was the sofa, bed sheets, pillows and shoes. God forbid that dog touch the shoes...Nevertheless, she had to do something, or they'd keep her back for even longer, so she might as well get started.
Without using much in the way of common sense, the raven haired Chakram picked up a stack of going on 10 decent sized books at once and started walking towards one of the huge shelves towering up the wall. Nova wasn't a strong girl, that was for sure, especially in her arms, so physics kicked in not too long later and the tiny, already stumbling, demon weapon just crashed to the floor after only a few paces, the noise earning glances and giggles from the other amused students in the Library at the time. "Shit! Son of a bitch..." She rasped under her breath, starting to go a bright red, laying on her stomach, arms outstreched, the books scattered over the floor. "Not cool..." She got up, very slowly, feeling the eyes of many students gazing upon her. Oh how she hated her life sometimes, as she began to pick up the books once again.

Every day she checks something new in Death City is another day Vespera finds something bewildering. She had never set foot in the library before now, and it was massive. At first it looked about the size of a public library, but she didn't realize how tall it was. How in the world is she going to find what she's looking for? Does it even exist...? It has to, so it was time to begin the search.
As she wandered around a mountain of books caught her eye, and saw one particularly frustrated girl contending with them. She doesn't look like she works in here normally, but maybe...?
"Um, hello. You wouldn't happen to know if they keep any archives of mission reports in here, would you...?"

Today wasn’t going very well and that was before she’d even gotten the detention. Though, she couldn’t blame anyone but herself even if she hated to admit she was in the wrong, and that the teacher wasn’t just an ass. I irked her, true, but still, she has no excuse. Though it was more being embarrassed that made this a ‘good’ detention rather than actually being here. Once again, her fault, and it wasn’t even funny now. To her anyway, everyone else found it hysterical, which made her flush a bright red alone. She wouldn’t even any work done at this rate and then they’d keep her back for longer! As much as she knew she had to get something done the motivation wasn’t there, not that it ever had been to start with. Sometimes, she was sure she was as a pitiful a sight as Fox when she found her way into a spare box and couldn’t get out. Great, she was comparing herself to a puppy. Nice.
It wasn’t long after Nova had started piling the books she had dropped back together and had begun cursing to herself under her breath that another girl came along to her side. "Um, hello. You wouldn't happen to know if they keep any archives of mission reports in here, would you...?" For a moment, Nova didn’t even register the new comer, carrying on with her cursing, fumbling about trying to pick up the fallen book sprawled carelessly on the floor. It took a few moments for Nova to answer her back, with probably a rude enough tone to see Ebenezer Scrooge out the door in a flash. ”Meh, I dunno. Maybe try the History section…” Nova didn’t even look up, sounding irritated and slightly pissed. She just scrambled around and contended with the books until she realised she’d sounded like a complete bitch. She sighed, and stood up, a pile of books in her arms. The Demon Weapon turned to look at the girl, with a look of tire in her eyes, it was clear to see she wasn’t in the best of moods but yet didn’t want to be so snappy at people. After all, it never did people any good to annoy those who had yet to annoy you.
”Sorry. Just a little stressed. Do you know what kind of Mission your looking for? Stealth, combat, y’know?” Nova tried to smile, but it didn’t work, so she sighed again, her shoulder sinking lower. This was never a good start even by her records. I mean, although this girl didn’t even want to help her with the books, at least she wasn’t laughing at her either. Probably meaning she had something to do, and she wanted to get it done. Reminded her of someone else she knew. But probably a little less…hopeless.

Vespera didn't even get a glance in her direction when the girl responded, she must be even more frustrated than she looks. Her suspicion that the girl didn't normally work here, however, was confirmed by the answer.
"Meh, I dunno. Maybe try the History section…"
"Oh... I guess it would be that obvious, huh?" she said with a nervous laugh. She started to back away when the girl turned her head towards her.
"Sorry. Just a little stressed. Do you know what kind of Mission your looking for? Stealth, combat, y’know?"
This girl looked more tired than frustrated now that she had made eye contact. Vespera couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for her, but why she did not know. She had a sullen look on her face as she kept eye contact, then snapped back into regular thought. She remembered what she was looking for, but did she really want anyone to know what she was looking for...? She might not even want to find what she's looking for, but she's going to have to come to terms with it sooner or later.
"It's... I guess a hunt... combat, seeking out a Kishin Egg. You've been enough help though, I don't want to get you in trouble or anything. Sorry I bothered you..." she said, slowly starting to walk away.
How in the world does she put this into words for someone? She couldn't even tell her own mother that what she wanted to know was the truth. The truth about her father, Lucio Velázquez. She stopped and started to think deeply about the situation. If she found it, what would it mean? What if someone saw her reading it and found out her own father became a Kishin Egg shortly after she was born? Vespera was practically frozen. Why did she even come here if she were too scared to know?

"Hey! Don't just leave!" Nova felt bad for being an ass, but regardless of how tired she might have been, if someone wanted help, it was only good manners to help no? That and the teachers were probably eyeing her like a hawk during her detention, and she didn't want to stay back even more another day. So will a pile of books in her arms, the Demon Chakram fled after the the fellow student who she had accidentally rained on the parade of.
Nova stood in the way of the girl, the tower of books almost covering her face completely. The pile wobbled and and waved, looking as if they were going to fall again at any moment. "I didn't mean to be an ass, I'm sorry!" Nova smiled, but whether she could see that or not was a different story altogether, Nova just hoped she didn't seem like so much of an idiot. "I'll help you find what your looking for!" The raven-haired girl lifted her knee to the pile of books, allowing her hands to maintain a 'steady' grip, though it took some effort.
"There is one I do know of, but I might be stroking me ego a little." The Weapon tried to joke a little, but she was suddenly very worried about how she was coming off to the student. Nova never liked upsetting people unless they'd upset her. This girl had done nothing wrong, maybe she was just an ass sometimes. Nova upheld her bright (but slightly painful looking) smile as the weight of the books seemed to increase with every fleeting moment.

Vespera was still working her way through how to interact with people here. She didn't really know how to distinguish who was at what level, so she didn't know how to talk to people since they might be ahead of her. She wanted to show an appropriate level of respect, but didn't really know what that was in Shibusen, if it existed at all for that matter. Everyone seemed to get along so well here for the most part, and Vespera was the new girl. Her only friend so far is her Meister, Lynn, and they had only just met.
"I didn't mean to be an ass, I'm sorry! I'll help you find what your looking for!"
Vespera struggled to get words out, she didn't really feel like this girl had made an "ass" of herself; she just seemed indifferent, and Vespera felt like it was her fault for bothering her. She finally started trying to form a sentence.
"It's... OK. I shouldn't have bothered you while you were working." she said, her eyes darting all over the place from nervousness.
This girl seemed nice enough, all things considered. Her indifference was probably just a result of being here unwillingly. She still actually wasn't sure why the black-haired girl was here, but those books looked extremely heavy. She wasn't sure if she was just in a rush to get done or if she really thought she could carry that many at once. Right when Vespera was about to speak up about it, the girl said something else.
"There is one I do know of, but I might be stroking my ego a little."
"Really? I'd like to hear about it, actually. Can I help you with those books? Also... if you don't mind my saying, you... don't seem like you want to be here. Are you in trouble or something?"

"Hehe, yeah...I'm in detention. Not the first time, but that doesn't make spending an hour after school cleaning up the Library any more fun!" November replied, slightly coy, smiling nonetheless. She didn't always take classes because she wanted to, but because she needed to if she wanted to graduate from the Academy when she got all 99 kishin soul and a witches. I mean. that was slightly far fetched true, even EAT class members didn't always make it that far but the little raven-haired girl was determined! Not once had there been a successful Weapon or Meister in her family, some got quite far and then shit hit the fan, but that meant the current generation were more than keen to be the first.
Nova walked back to the pile of books that had yet to be picked up, the current stack in her arms looked less then safe. "Yeah, sure, some help would be nice! I'm a pro at carrying huge stacks of books by now, just take as many as you can, I'll come back to it later." Of course. The way Nova's day had been going, it was clear to one and all the her 'book carrying abilities' far out did everyone else's. Not. Right now, Nova was trying to build back up karma with the blue-haired girl after a truly shitty start. "My name's November, by the way. EAT class Demon Weapon Chakram, at your service! Nova's smiled beamed behind the precarious stack of books.
Her mood had seemed to take a sudden turn for the better, which was always a good thing. A moody November was always bad news for a lot of people.
It didn't take too long to reach the Mission Records. Nova had never, before taking her own mission, ever been down here to read through the archives, but now did it often, especially when she had a mission up and coming. "So, yeah, Mission Records. I suggest this for preparation if your going on a mission, it gives you some idea of what you might be up against." Nova put down the pile of books, stretched a little, and then began to look through the rows of files. "I kinda regret not doing it before my first mission. We passed it, sure, but hell, we didn't half screw up something's!" Her words were followed by a short but genuine laugh. "So, you gotta' partner, girl?" She asked, still skimming the records.

Vespera grinned and grabbed some books herself. She was slightly concerned that this girl was there for detention, but she didn't seem that bad... right...? Oh well, she decided she was going to help and she was going to follow through on that. In the process of this she finally got a name to attach to this black-haired girl.
"Oh, that's a pretty name! Mine's a bit of a mouth full. Vespera Velázquez, EAT class... " She froze for just a second after stating what class she was in and immediately lowered her voice to nearly a whisper. "Demon Bo Staff..." She still had a few insecurities about her weapon form, seeing as how only one person has really accepted her as a useful weapon so far: Her partner. "Most people call me ViVi, though, so feel free to use that."
The books were pretty heavy, but she set them down for a moment when November started going through the records. It was intimidating to see so many files on missions, so much so that she almost missed the question regarding if she had a partner.
"Oh! Yes, I just got mine, actually. Most of the people I saw here at first looking for a partner were either creepy or thought my weapon form was useless, then I found Lynn purely by accident. She's... got a lot of differences from me, but I already trust her with my life. What about you? If you were on a mission then you probably have a partner already, right? What's your partner like?"

The blue-haired girl followed her, books in toe, to the section of the Library in which the mission file were kept neatly logged by level and date. The files went back all the way to the start of the Academy, or that's what it looked like anyway. The bookcase rose high to the tall ceiling. It wouldn't surprise her, however, if these records only went a few years back.
Nova listened to her fellow weapon all the while scanning the shelves for one mission in particular. In the 6 months prier, they had been a lot more mission undertaken. Won or otherwise. Mission reports came in regardless of success of failure. Casualties or not. Mostly used for the updating of the grading scheme and likewise, the reports were the crucial, yet strenuous, part of missions, just below the elimination of the target. She seemed very infatuated with looking until something caught her ears. "Trust me, Vivi, no weapon form is useless. It just takes the right Meister to have the skill to wield you. I know. Many Meisters refused me as a partner because of the skill needed to wield a Chakram to its full potential. I waited three years." Yet, with such words, she smiled over her shoulder.
"What about you? If you were on a mission then you probably have a partner already, right? What's your partner like?"
The Chakram paused for a moment, before she laughed to herself. Light hearted to the core, an air of unwavering happiness anchored in her soul. She pulled a file from the shelf, just looking over it once. " I found him purely by accident. He's got a lot of differences from me, but I trust him with my life." Nova winked at Vivi, copying her words almost exactly before she continued. "He's hard to miss, I'll say that much. Not exactly social, but not shy or awkward at all. Very much to himself. Very snobbish to all but spare a few. Then again, you'd expect nothing less from a European Prince. Trust me, if you have differences, you can learn from each other and form a true partnership. Only bad thing about me and him is sometimes trust is rather...lacking on his end, but still. We met via his rather boisterous cat, as crazy as it sounds, I promise, however, it is the truth." With that, Nova held out the file now in her hand. "This is the first Mission we took together. For a first Mission it wasn't exactly...bottom level."
~ River Fall Legend ~
~ Mission Grading; Level 2 ~
~ Target; One ~ ~ Lizzie Borden/Axe Murderer ~
~ Team ~ ~ Meister; Theron 'Bradford' d'Metreon ~ ~ Weapon; November Black (Chakram) ~
~ Result ~ ~ SUCCESSFUL; One Soul ~ ~ Ranking; A ~
" In there are two personal statements, a written report and one overall summary of performance. Simple stuff." Nova could still remember that night in Fall River. Not the best, but also the best, in the regard. First mission after all, nonetheless it was successful. Rare for a first time team in honestly. The weapon, however, had a gleam in her eye akin to an excited school child and she spoke again. "I could always just tell you what happened, of course. I could always answer any questions you have or...try to anyway." And once again, the Demon Weapon smiled brightly.

Vespera put her hands together with a look of amazement on her face, dropping the books she was carrying. She moved close to Nova with an incredibly huge smile on her face, an almost goofy smile. She froze for a moment with that face and actually didn't say anything until the report got pulled out.
"A European Prince?! Oh. my. GOD! That's AWESOME!" she exclaimed before realizing she was in a library and that she had dropped some very heavy books. Her face turned absolutely red as she started picking up books. The smile turned into more of a grin and the blushing went down but was still very visible. She lowered her head as she started talking again. "... Sorry... Still that almost sounds like fairly tale, meeting and teaming up with a prince, though. ... Plus I bet he has an interesting wardrobe." Her mind was finally settling back to its normal state.
She already felt lost looking over the mission report. She was starting to feel unsettled about the amount of paperwork that seems to come with being an EAT class student. She had a ton of questions for her hopefully-new friend, but she decided to start from the beginning.
"... I really am new here, what does it mean that it's a level 2 mission? What's the ranking like? Still... that A speaks for itself, you two must be an incredible team."

Vespera's out burst was probably the funniest and most unexpected thing to happen all day. Nova had long since gotten used to her partners royalty and seen it as almost nothing. She wasn't required to call him 'sir' or 'nobility' or anything such, so she kept him as she liked him; a normal person, her best friend and partner. Although, she didn't know why it was much of a big deal anyway, Shibusen was famed for it's talented students, true, but also it's wealthy and noble students also. One only need look to the Dane that ran about the Halls, or even Theron himself and you'd know that neither were very inconspicuous.
The raven haired girl smiled brightly and laughed, "At least I'm not the only one dropping things and makin' a prat outta myself today." The two weapons seemed to have their own clumsy streak, something that also wasn't uncommon within the school, worryingly. "... Sorry... Still that almost sounds like fairly tale, meeting and teaming up with a prince, though. ... Plus I bet he has an interesting wardrobe." Nova laughed again. The image of her Meister was an interesting one, true. Outlandish, certainly, but in it's own way right. There were many enough students who dressed as if they'd just fallen into multiple paint-buckets but that was part of the school's charm. Enough colourful characters to make it interesting, and enough character differentials that everyone could find a match. In the middle of the madness, the Students of Shibusen found themselves quite at home. "Yup, that is true. You can take the Prince out of the extravagance, but you can never take the extravagance out of the Prince, if you will."
Though as Vivi looked down on the file she's handed her, the unease was clear. A far enough, a mission was a frightening thing and Nova was sure that want to turn back on the way to the destination was one that would never leave. She didn't know if it was honour or just determination to succeed that kept her in place. Maybe it was the fact she wished to become the first Deathscythe in her family? Maybe she'd never really know herself. "... I really am new here, what does it mean that it's a level 2 mission? What's the ranking like? Still... that A speaks for itself, you two must be an incredible team." Nova fundamental attitude towards her successes and failures were something even her Meister didn't understand, few people understood that mindset where you never did good, and if you did, it was down to someone or something else.
"A level two mission is the lowest ranking mission that enables you to get a single Corrupted Soul, it should be the least challenging. I'd beg to differ but we are a new team, I wouldn't expect it to be easy until we get stronger." She thought to herself on the last part of Vespera's words before replying. "Theron is a good Meister, a fighter and a strategist through and through, and I'm as loyal as you can get, a rough trait, I realise that now, but I don't intend to change. Lizzie was, well, a bitch if ever there was one..." Then Nova's straight expressed transformed into a beaming smile, humour danced in her voice "We destroyed a door and ruined a brand new car. Luckily the woman at the desk survived after her own encounter."
Still, Nova remembered every time that night when she'd gone out into harms way to protect her Meister; die for him. She'd continue to do so, if she didn't then her faith in him wasn't true, her loyalty to him was one that could be forfeit. Her uncles Meister had died to protect him, and her Mother was still alive because her Meister sacrificed himself for her. And they were remembered. If anything in this life, Nova wanted to be remembered.

Vespera wasn't sure what to make of the statements about the mission. It seems to be the lowest level of mission that actually progresses a weapon. She wondered how exactly the rankings go, are they just "normal" and "hard" missions, or is there something above 1? Or is it the other way around? Where does it start or end? She didn't want to ask otherwise she'd feel like an idiot again so she quickly scanned around at other files, and the higher the number the bigger the files seem to be, so it seems to go up in number to indicate difficulty. Now she doesn't feel like an airhead. That A is pretty universal, though and she seemed pretty happy with that. Maybe a little too happy...? She was smiling while she said there was property damage during the course of the mission.
"That sounds... exciting!" she said nervously, a slight twitch in her eye giving it away on her face. "Oh, if you don't mind my asking... what got you detention?" she asked. She decided that now that she knew where the reports were she'd come back to them later. She was in the process of making a new friend, so she didn't want to ruin it by getting caught looking up what she was looking for in there. It might cause a negative opinion, and she didn't even know if it was true or not, so why drag other people down with it? "... Sorry, that's not a very good subject to talk about is it?"

"Oh, if you don't mind my asking... what got you detention?"
Nova laughed, rubbing the back of her neck slightly awkwardly.
"Heh heh, well, see, I'm not always that interested in the lessons I go to. I was caught with my Ipod...a dozen times in the same class. They confiscated it, and gave me a detention. I get the damn thing back when I finish this hour. Bit tight if you ask me, but oh well, thats how things role I guess."
The demon weapon examined her new friend a little more closely. She still seemed a little confused about what all this mission business was, but was being way too polite to ask any more questions. Truth be told, when it came to the school, Nova liked answering questions. She'd been here long enough to learn about it all and answer most questions people had. Even about the Death Room. She'd been there on multiple occasions when the Head Master had gotten worried about her not finding a partner within the first few years. Nova had always opted to stay and search, and this year she'd been lucky to find a Meister at last.
"You still seem a little confused? You sure there aren't any more questions you want to ask? S'what I'm here for, after all." The weapon smiled at Vespera, almost trying to encourage her to ask some more. Nova wasn't too fond of the idea of leaving her a little of of whack still.

Vespera wanted to shout with excitement, but she wasn't going to get out of control again, so she just trembled as her new friend asked a question. She was just waiting to get to the subject she really wanted to talk about, but she felt a need to be specific about this question.
"You still seem a little confused? You sure there aren't any more questions you want to ask? S'what I'm here for, after all."
Vespera waved her hands with a nervous look on her face and quickly responded. She decided she didn't want to be entirely dishonest about this, she didn't want to hide that she was looking for something, but at the same time she didn't want to let on that it was something personal.
"No, no! I'm good. I think I figured it all out now. I'm just a little overwhelmed by how much there is here. ... I'm looking for something very specific, and I'm not gonna make you help me with that. It's just something I want to find for my own curiosity. Still, these other reports will give me a good indication of what to expect on a mission, so thanks for showing me that."
Then she got a grin on her face and moved just a little bit closer to Nova.
"So, anyway... An iPod you say...? A dozen times? Oh please tell me it's because you love music!" She was really excited at this possibility, music was the one thing she could always talk about at any time or place. "What kind of music do you listen to? Favorite bands? Favorite songs?!" Then she realized she was getting out of control again. "Oh I'm getting carried away, but I really love music. I'll listen to just about anything. If it wasn't so dedicated to becoming a soccer star some day I'd take up playing an instrument."
She'd finally gotten use to calling it soccer. It seemed to her like calling it football was getting phased out more and more over the years so she decided she might want to get use to using the names interchangeably. She didn't feel comfortable saying the word soccer, though. She felt like her accent made it sound really funny, though no one's really said anything about it yet.

Clip clop clip clop
Selene's boots clapped in a slow beat, almost as if she could use it as a treble.
Chikka chikka chikka
Her leather and chain hoodie jingled quickly. Her whole body was in a perfect harmony. She hummed a small tune under her breath, dreaming up a new song. Selene rummaged through her black hoodie until finally re-discovering her guitar pick, and gave it a kiss for her luck. She kept walking, and kept singing her tune, when she came to a halt.
"Where am I going?"
Sel sighed, a little miffed as usual. She scanned her eyes around the halls of the school, finding just one room. An entrance to the Library. She shrugged. "Eh, might as well find some good manga or something." She walked in with an indifferent tone on her face. She walked up to two girls talking. "Oi, I'm looking for something good. There any comics or magazines?"
