It was a dark night over Lazio, Italy. The stars were shining, and a train was chugging along the tracks. This train held two of shibusen's students, they were not here for fun however, they were here on a mission. This mission had 2 parts, 1. Take Konrad Curze into custody; and 2. Kill the infamous Night Haunter. The train was on schedule and making good time if you wanted to push it that far. But it was still going to be 2 hours until they arrived in Lazio. The students weren't tired at all, to pumped about their mission. So they have to figure out a way on how to kill some time. ______________________________________________________ Mission Objection: Explore, Talk, ect.

To say that Inverno Costa was nervous about his first mission was an understatement. Even after a year of training, and having recently found a new partner in Vingnir, the Demon Rocket hammer, Inverno didn't know what was going to happen to them. Perhaps the Night Stalker would ambush them, and put them in a position where they couldn't effectively fight back. Perhaps he would get away to claim more victims, and they'd be to blame for the lives lost. Either way, there was a lot of pressure on young Inverno.
The nervousness of going on his first mission pumped through his mind. His eyes were widened. He didn't know what his partner was thinking, but knowing him, he was probably more excited than nervous for this mission.
While sitting on the train, the short meister took out a newspaper. The article he was reading focused on the escape by Curze, and the Night Haunter's attack on the prison. Aside from the details of the crime scene, it also contained interviews from some survivors.
While Inverno was worried about how he would take them out in the blackout, he had to remain strong. Along with his partner, he had to succeed.

So this was Italy...
Was the first thought that popped into Vingnir's head as the calls for "All aboard!" were given. It was near midnight, but that didn't mean he was tired. Rather, the demon weapon's body was still operating on America's time; it felt like the middle of the afternoon. The train grunted and groaned before pulling itself out of the station. As they picked up speed, the array of foreign lights blurred into the background. The midnight air was tinged with the sense of anticipation and adventure; the feel that something amazing was going to happen was almost palpable. And indeed, something amazing was going to happen -- Vingnir Pulometis and Inverno Costa were about to embark on their first mission together. Despite recently coming together as weapon and meister, Vinny felt comfortable with his companion. It was as if it were meant to be. It all was -- the erratic sounds of bird's chirping their discomfort as the locomotive rattled by seemed to the demon rocket hammer to be part of a symphony; one that was comprised of every single sound that played upon his ears.
Unlike his partner, Vingnir wasn't nervous. Enthusiastic grins were plastered on his face the whole time; from the flight from Nevada, right up to the moment the train departed. They were going to save the world in the next few days -- admittedly a small part of it, but a part of it all the same. He noticed that his partner was reading the Italian newspaper. Unlike Inverno, Vingnir couldn't speak nor read Italian, and so the words on the paper seemed to be jibberish to him.
"Skrýtinn tungumál..." He muttered, a little loudly, before turning to face the window again. Vingnir wondered what would happen when they stopped in Lazio. It came as a surprise to some of the teachers when they discovered that he had read the mission briefing. Admittedly, he'd forgotten most of it, but still...
...it was progress.
"So uh, Inverno...what does that Curze guy look like?" Yawned the demon weapon. In the end, it probably wouldn't matter; as a weapon his job was to smash things up and ask questions later, and so recognition would be all down to his partner. Vingnir blew a tuft of his messy black hair out of his face as he waited for a reply.

"So uh, Inverno...what does that Curze guy look like?"
Before Inverno could reply, the lights started to flicker, then they were out. The whole room was pitch black. Then they heard a voice out of nowhere, "Attention all passengers, we are having some technical difficulties. Please return and remain in your....". The voice stopped and was replaced with static, and then silence. Now not only the room was dark, it was dead silent along with it. Something didn't seem right. A sinking feeling was running rampant in the room. Evil was defiantly riding on this train too. Then that awful silence was broken with an even worse sound, a scream so loud that and blood curdling that it struck an instant fear into the two students, freezing them for about 20 to 30 seconds only to be thawed by the train hitting a rough patch in the tracks and jerking the students car. If they were going to find out what happened, they would need to act fast!

"So uh, Inverno...what does that Curze guy look like?", asked Vingnir. Before Inverno could show him the picture in the newspaper, the lights flickered to black. Over the intercom, a voice informed the passengers of technical difficulties, only for the message to prematurely cut out. The silence was quickly interrupted by a chilling shriek, which left the already nervous Inverno frozen in fear. The train hitting a rough patch managed to snap the white-haired lad out of his state.
"Come on, we have to investigate!", stated Inverno as he reached into his bag. The short boy's hand groped around the contents of the bag until he pulled out two flashlights, handing one to Vingnir. "Let's head up to the front car!", he exclaimed as he switched on his flashlight and proceeded towards the door of the car.

Inverno made to show Vingnir the picture in the newspaper, but was hampered by a sudden powercut. The lights died immediately, eliciting looks of confusion from the demon weapon. Silence fell upon the entire train like a cloth, hushing everything that dared to breathe. Then its shortlived reign over the locomotive was ended, by a shriek that tore through the night. It was but a seed of fear, that was quickly harvested by the civilians upon the train. Screams permeated through the air, quickly gaining in volume and intensity; the people were scared, that much was clear from the blind panic suddenly present in Inverno and Vingnir's carriage. Many tried to get up and run, but others were just paralysed in their seats; the weight of fear being too much for them to bear.
"Come on, we have to investigate!" The voice of Vingnir's partner pierced through the chaos, re-enforcing the idea that had formed in the rocket hammer's head the moment the first shriek sounded. Vingnir nodded, although it would be hard to see him in the shadows of the carriage, and caught the flashlight through sheer luck alone. He flicked it on, and as the light shone in the darkness, the people in the carriage were calmed somewhat. The two lights alone weren't enough to illuminate the whole train car, but Vinny was certain they would be missed once they left. Of course they would leave; they had to figure out what was going on! Still...if he could help them in someway...
A lightbox!
Vingnir worked quickly and efficiently. Holding the flashlight in his teeth, the demon weapon shook all of the metal scraps from his pocket and placed them on the table. In the gloom the details of his partial transformation were lost, but in a few seconds the light of a rocket thruster was a beacon in the near-dark. Vingnir placed the torch in the box, and suddenly the carriage became a lot more light. Visible now was a dirty copper box with multiple holes in it. On the inside a few reflective pieces of metal bounced the light from the torch in multiple directions, amplifying the intensity as it shone through the holes. The smile on Vingnir's face only lasted for a moment, though, for they still had to get going.
"Inverno, leave your torch here -- with this box-thingie we won't need it, but they really do." Said the demon weapon as he followed his weapon partner to the door of the train carriage.

The two boys walked down the hall of the car. The scream seemed of to come from the front of the train. As they walked to the end of the car, they heard another scream, this time louder as anything. It had to be from the next car, which happened to be the dinning car. The two crossed over and what they saw they didn't believe. From the Light provided by the demon weapon, they saw a gargantuan creature, muscles pulsing all over this half human, half ogre. Giant leathery wings sprouted from his back, along with what seemed like claws, but instead of nails, it seemed like they were knives, at least as sharp as them. Finally, this creature had glowing yellow eyes that seemed to pierce your soul and sever it from your body. His mouth, filled with razor sharp teeth, was covered in blood. This confirmed that he was responsible for the dead woman he was standing over, half of her neck bitten off, blood still running like the fountain in the center of Death City Park. There was no doubt about it, the Night Haunter found them.
"SHIBUSSSSEN!!!" the evil thing hissed.
"DIIIIEEEEEE!!!!!" it screamed as it lunged towards them, claw held in front ready to skewer them.

As the weapon and meister team entered the dining car, a blood curdling scream filled their ears. Vingnir winced, not too keen on seeing the source of such a noise. Still, they had to press on if they were going to find Konrad Curze in Lazio, or, failing that, get off of the train alive. A little tentatively, the demon weapon opened the door to the dining car, and as he did so, his nose was instantly filled with the smell of death and his eyes watered. The putrid sight of a fresh corpse was not one he had been prepared to see. Even worse, standing above the corpse with warm blood still running down its body, was an abominable beast of a man, who had grotesque muscles in all the wrong places, and a pair of leathery wings that reminded Vingnir of dead crocodiles.
"What is that thing?" Shouted the demon weapon, despite the lack of a need to do so. He and Inverno were the only living people in the room; all the attendants of the dining car had been killed by this monster before him. It should have been obvious; this was the reason they had been sent to Italy in the first place. Standing before the weapon and meister team was the night haunter. And yet, Vingnir carried on, oblivious to that fact, only aware that the thing that took up most of the space in the dining car was the reason for all the screaming, and that he and his meister had to take it down.
Although Vingnir didn't know who or what it was, the thing in front of him seemed to know who they were, for it cried in a voice that sent chills down his spine the name of their school. But that wasn't the worst of it. Not by a long shot. It didn't even know who they were, but from the murderous gleam in its eyes Vingnir could tell that it wanted to kill him. He would have been angry, were it not for the overriding sense of fear. The monster seemed to care little, crying out;
"DIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEE!" That sent Vinny into action. Moving out of fear more than anything else, the demon weapon lunged at Inverno, as if he was going to tackle him. However, mid-flight a red light surrounded his body, soon enveloping him. By the time he reached his meister's hands, Vingnir had transformed into a gleaming red hammer, with golden ends and two wings on his midriff. A tassle hung from the handle, which had a crossed hammer motif on it. Now he was ready to kick some arse. Which was handy, too, seeing as the creature had lunged, with intent to run him through.
Now, while Vingnir may not have been the brightest bulb in the box, he did have a knack for combat. Which was why, when he felt the creature coming at them, he yelled out;
"SMASH HIM IN THE FACE!"

Along with his weapon, Inverno made their way towards the dining car. Nearing the car, the two of them heard the sound of death screams. With a sigh, the two would enter the car, filled with the dead. Inverno knew that wherever Kishin Eggs were, innocents would most likely die. But this 'assassin' slaughtered them all. The sight of bodies and blood sickened Inverno.
Before them as a huge, demonic creature. Its knife-like claws gleamed in the light provided by his partner. "What is that thing?", shouted the Demon Hammer as they both looked at the creature. However, Inverno gave the monster a nervous stare. Their first Kishin Egg, and possibly their last if they weren't careful. "Night Haunter. . .", stated Inverno, blatantly nervous.
"SHIBUSSSSEN!!!", the monster hissed. Inverno got into position to either step to the side, or move in for a blow. "DIIIIEEEEEE!!!!!", the 'assassin' screamed as it lunged towards them. Inverno stepped to the side, out of the way of the beast as it lunged. However, his partner dashed towards him, transforming into a hammer, which Inverno caught.
"SMASH HIM IN THE FACE!", shouted the Hammer as the creature was lunging at the duo. Raising the hammer above his head, Inverno waited until it passed them. Once it was in smashing range, the white-haired Meister would smash the hammer down upon the creature, using all of his might in hopes that he would at least damage the creature.
However, Inverno couldn't shake the feeling that this demon had more in store for them than just lunging at them with his claws. . .

The Night Haunter almost flew towards the two, and Inverno went through with his plan, hoping for it to work. He side stepped to the right and swung the hammer down as the monster past by them. WHHHHAAAAMMMM! The Night Haunter was hit right on his back and got pounded onto the floor. Inverno, in shock that that actually worked, stood there for a second. The Night Haunter decided to use this to his advantage and slashed at the boy's leg with his claw. As Inverno fell to the ground in pain from the deep gash in his leg, the Night Haunter got up and started to limp away. He then took his claws and ripped a hole in the side of the car.
"WE SSSSHALL MEET AGAIN!!!"
The creature then jumped out the hole and flew away into the night.
