Cassie Tandem walked through the city familiarizing herself with her new home. She had finished the registration with the office and heard she started classes in three days. Her parents had sent her with enough money for rent, school, food, and entertainment for the next two years, but she already cut rent by just getting the dorms offered to her leaving her with a few grand extra now. She didn't want to live alone, and being in the dorms offered her the company of the other girls. She called her parents, didn't tell them she was in the dorms, but gave them the number to her room after setting up her phone and computer. She also set up her single bed. The room was small, but she really didn't need more room. It would only be a place for her to sleep and study. She would get a small efficient fridge and microwave later, for now she wanted to look around the city.
Being out of her element Cass found herself being quiet, something unusual for her, and her pace was reflecting her uncertainty. It was exciting to come here, and finally having her ambitions come true. Now, she was feeling the affect of being so far away from her family. It was giving her an empty feeling, as she began make her way back toward her new home. She was completely alone now, and there wasn't a single person she knew, or had any connection with. At least when she was home she could be alone, but would always return home to her family who were very devoted to her.
Her long legs strode her forward, her eyes catching a playground in the distance, she stopped moving for a moment. Readjusting her head phones and thought about going over to it and having some fun, maybe lightened her own mood. A smile came to her lips and her mismatched eyes glimmered a little. Yeah! That was an awesome idea! She began to run, her blue plaid skirt waving in the breeze her arms bending up as she formed 'kitty' paws with her hands. Giggles burst from her as she found a swing. The park was devoid of anyone, but that was fine to her. She sat down on the swing after making sure to dust off the leaf that had been resting upon it, "Sorry little leaf..this is my swing now!" She plopped her little but down and put her head phones on her ears and played with her phone turning it to the live radio. She scanned it till she came to a alternative station that was playing Collective Soul's Shine. It was then she gripped the chain's and began to swing herself back and forth, her eyes shut and a large pleased smile on her face letting her mind be free.

The albino meister decided that today would be a good day to get out and enjoy the outside world for once. Today would be the day where he would play Dungeons and Dragons with a small group of friends at the game shop. However, that event was hours away, and his dorm mates were as annoying as usual. So until he could spend time with his real friends, the albino was confined to enduring the outside heat.
But something about Death City was pleasant compared to the rest of the Nevada desert. He didn't know what caused it, probably the influence of Shinigami's soul. But whatever it was, it wasn't just him. Those in short-sleeved tops, shorts, or even skirts didn't suffer from sunburn as they should in the desert. This was why the albino had been able to get away with wearing plain t-shirts in this weather.
Eventually, after grabbing a root beer from a corner store, the meister decided to go to the park. Within ten minutes, Inverno made it to the park. Thankfully, on days like this, the park itself didn't have too many people around. Not too many children were playing around, parents either staying at home, or just working. This was fine with Inverno Costa, who appreciated the peace and quiet of the park.
The red-eyed boy took a seat on the bench. When he looked up, that was when he saw a girl on the swings. The girl looked to be around his age, wearing a skirt and t-shirt. While he couldn't see her eyes, he easily spotted her golden-blond hair and headphones. He hadn't seen her around before, not even in the hallways. Was she one of the new students here?

She hadn't noticed the boy who came into the park as she continued to swing. Getting lost in the music a good song came on and thinking she was alone began to sing. Low by Cracker. She wasn't successful in mimicking the voice of the male singer, but she didn't do bad. "..be with you, girl....like being low...hey hey hey, like being stoned..". The song ended and soon another song kicked up, Simple Song by The Shins, and she found it to be better than the other song. She didn't know the lyrics all to well so just began to let her body sway back and forth with it, bouncing a little in her seat at the same time. At the beat of the drums and timed it and launched herself off the swing landing somewhat gracefully onto the luscious grass. Her ankle high black boots thumped softly upon contact. Her hands went to her head phones, hips swayed back and forth, the motion making her black tee ride up slightly above her belly button.
She pirouetted around her eyes opening some to see where she was going, and it was then she saw the albino boy. Her leg came down to stop her motion, luckily not knocking her balance off. He was looking right at her and she stopped moving bringing her head phones down from her ears to rest upon her shoulders. She blinked her mismatched eyes for a moment and then let the awkward staring go on for a few seconds before she cracked a smile. It was a little sheepish, she had to admit, but with a soft laugh she ran over to him to close the distance. Bending down a little she offered her hand, "Hi! I'm Cassie Alexis Tandem...but you can call me Cass...or Lexi..your choice!"

Inverno listened to the girl sing. He himself wasn't familiar with what she was singing. Hell, the boy never really kept up with much of today's stuff, instead listening to the very classics. While the girl was on the swings, she seemed to be very energetic. Eventually, the girl had jumped off the swing, landing on her feet. Inverno did his best to ignore the fact that her shirt was riding up.
The girl eventually spotted the boy. It was at that point that Inverno spotted her mismatched eyes. One of them was a turquoise color, while the other was blood red, just like both of his eyes. He wasn't sure if it was inherited from birth, or the result of an accident. The girl stared at him awkwardly, but thankfully it didn't seem too angry. The girl eventually cracked a sheepish smile. The girl then gave a soft laugh before running over to him and extending a hand to the boy.
"Hi! I'm Cassie Alexis Tandem...but you can call me Cass...or Lexi..your choice!", she told him in a friendly manner. The boy gently shook the girls hands, giving her a shy, yet friendly smile. "I-I'm Inverno C-Costa. . .", replied the boy in a soft voice, stuttering nervously. The boy stood up, looking at the golden-blond girl. Unlike the others he had met at the school, the girl was shorter than him, if only by two inches.
"A-are y-y-you new h-here?", asked the boy shyly.

The boy was quite shy, but very attentive to her words. He took her hand in greeting introducing himself as Inverno Costa in very shy stuttered words. It made her smile seeing him so shy. It was cute, honestly. After the introductions she withdrew her hand straightened up as he stood. At this point she noticed her shirt had rode up. Pulling it down, she straightened out any shirt, then fixed her skirt some. The music lightly sounding from her speakers, but the words were almost unnoticeable, when he spoke. His cute stutter finding her ears, her eyes meeting his kindly. "Yeah, just finished registration and all that stuff this morning. I start on Monday.." Her arms went behind her back as she teetered back and forth on her feet.
Her curiosity perked and she wondered if he was a weapon, or meister. Perhaps she should have been able to tell, but she wasn't sure. "..so..you go to the Academy, also?" Her head tilted a little, her headphones sliding but caught on her neck, "...are you a weapon?" She pondered if he wasn't...well, maybe she was jumping the gun on that. I mean, she never really bonded with anyone other than her parents. Was it possible this stuttering albino could be a meister, and if he was..would they be compatible.
Her head turned and she looked at how peaceful everything was around her, for today that is. She was sure things weren't all as peaceful as they seemed. She realized her attention was wavering and she forced herself to refocus. "..well..I'm a demon weapon..and wonder if I was going to be able to find a meister...I'm not the kind of weapon that can do missions on my own..I could..but it would be difficult..." She didn't turn her head back to him, but glanced over out of the corner of her eyes, her turquoise eye the closest to him.

Normally, anyone that had to endure Inverno's stuttering either ignored it, or was outwardly irritated by it. However, the girl smiled at the boy. He didn't really know why she'd smile like that. But then, at least it was better than being yelled at over something he could hardly help.
After they introduced themselves, Inverno observed the girl straightening out her clothes. He could hear the faint sounds of music emitting from the headphones dangling from her neck. After asking her if she was new, the girl made eye contact with the boy kindly. "Yeah, just finished registration and all that stuff this morning. I start on Monday..", she told him while she held her arms behind her back, and idly teetered back and fourth.
"..so..you go to the Academy, also?", she asked him, her head tilted to the side. "Yes. . .", he told her with the kind smile. "...are you a weapon?", she asked the boy. "M-meister actually.", he stuttered again. He wouldn't get on her for assuming if he was a weapon, as it was an easy mistake to make anyway.
The girl turned her head away, looking the other direction. He wondered if he had done something wrong, if he had screwed up. After a moment of somewhat awkward, the girl spoke up again. "..well..I'm a demon weapon..and wonder if I was going to be able to find a meister...I'm not the kind of weapon that can do missions on my own..I could..but it would be difficult...", she told him.
"W-what k-kind of weapon?", he asked her. So far, from what he could tell, the two of them seemed to be at least somewhat compatible. While Inverno was extremely shy and introverted, the girl was extroverted and seemed confident enough. And even if he wasn't familiar with the weapon type, the two of them working together, along with some training, would help them.

It was good to meet someone else that was going to the Academy, maybe for once she could make a friend...that would be nice, actually. Her head still remained turned and he answered her. He was a meister! Her smile grew but she didn't jump up and down and grab onto him like she normally would. If she was going to try him, she didn't want to scare him off. That would be no way to gain a meister, and Alexis needed to really needed to complete missions and get souls if she hoped to become, well..let's take one step at a time.
The boy inquired more about her and she turned her head to him, "...well, I'm a gun...a, ummm..Desert Eagle, actually..." She had to think for a moment. She knew she was a gun, but for a moment she forgot she was a Desert Eagle. No one ever handled her much. A friend once tried, but her hands burned from her wavelength being too high for her to handle...or something like that. "..what kind of weapon were you hoping I was?" Her head tilted a little again. It was shortly after her question did she realize she felt a harsh rumble in her stomach. She was hungry. When was the last time she ate, anyhow? Maybe she get something later, for now she had a possible meister in front of her.

After asking her what she was, the girl turned back to him. She told him that she was a Desert Eagle. While Inverno had attempted to unite with melee weapons in this last two attempts, a gun seemed to be fine. And while Desert Eagles were usually associated with powerful recoil, Inverno was sure his extra strength would allow him to effectively deal with it.
"..what kind of weapon were you hoping I was?", she asked him, tilting her head again. Before he could answer, he heard her stomach growl. This in turn caused Inverno to realize that he hadn't gotten anything to eat recently himself. That was when the boy had an idea. The girl seemed to be compatible with him judging from her immediate behavior. That, and the Desert Eagle seemed to be a good weapon to partner up with in general.
"Actually, a D-Desert Eagle would be f-f-fine. . .", he stuttered, yet smiled nervously. "Wanna t-try p-partnering up?", he asked her. He extended his hand out in order to let her transform into it. If he was right, then maybe he'd have a good shot at a new partner. Hell, the boy could handle himself in close ranged encounters, so covering long-ranged encounters with a gun seemed to be plenty logical to him.

She watched wondering if he would be interested in her, and he mentioned that she would be just fine. Was she second to what he really wanted? He gave her a little smile which made her think he really was interested in her. He asked if she wanted to try partnering with him. She stopped teetering back and forth and looked at his extended hand for a moment. Would this be it? Would she have a friend and possible partner for...well who knew how long. First they had to see if they would actually fit. Words were words, after all. For a moment she looked nervous herself, but then a large grin came to her and she let out a slight laugh, "Yeah!" She took his hand and transformed, the sound of her energy whooshed from where she stood to his hand.
Her grip rested now in his hand while her barrel now pointed away from him. She was a combination of gold and black. Her barrel polished gold, the slide of her was flat black with intricate gold designs behind the chamber on the slide. The safety, sight, trigger and hammer polished gold. Along the length of the slide in gold lettering described what she was CT (her initials) Psychotic special .50. The grip also flat black with her initials on the side in italic lettering. Slide and magazine release also polished gold.
Cass giggled a little as she now felt like she was already beginning to connect with him. Too bad we don't have something to shoot..it would be fun to really test this out. Her hunger forgotten for now as she wondered now just how she felt to him. Everything was fine on her end, so far. Now it was up to him.

At this point, Inverno was more than nervous. He didn't really know this girl that well. Unlike Vingnir, who he had read a detailed file on, or Selene, who he had talked to for a little while, he had just met Cass. While the girl seemed to be the opposite of him in several ways, she also could've been hiding something. But even then, it was important to see how it all went down.
Within a moment, the girl transformed into a black and gold Desert Eagle. While most of the gun was black, the .50 caliber barrel was a shimmering gold. The slide, magazine release, safety, sight, trigger, and hammer also in a golden color. The boy examined the pistol for a moment in fascination and amazement. He had never held a gun before. But then, a hammer and polearm weren't exactly the same kind of weapons.
So far, the boy was having none of the troubles associated with wielding a weapon. His hand wasn't burning, the gun wasn't too heavy. As a matter of fact, the weight of the gun felt just right. While he could feel energy brimming through the weapon coursing through his body, it felt extremely good. As if he felt complete just by wielding her.
Inverno could hear the girl giggle, despite the fact that she was in her weapon form. He too wanted to test her out at the Shibusen shooting range. But even then, it seemed to be a good start for her, having a partner right after finishing up registration.
"So, wanna get something to e-eat?", he asked her happily.

He held her and she could feel their energy touching, or was it her imagination. It didn't feel bad, it was almost exciting. She waited to see if he'd test out the sights or just play with her weight. After a few moments of him examining her, he seemed to be quiet. She focused on him trying to read him. He spoke, and her mind clicked with what he said. FOOD! She quickly transformed back into her human form and squealed with excitement. "Food!Yeah! What are the choices!?" She got so excited she didn't think mentioning she was a vegetarian important. I mean, she had never needed to tell anyone, she had no friends, and the only people who knew were her family, and she never had to mention it. They just knew.
Jumping forward she grabbed a hold of Inverno, giving him a hug. "Oh, I can't wait!" She was talking about food of course. "...I wonder though, are you really going to be able to handle me...I mean, I haven't found anyone that can.." She turned slightly serious, unwrapping her arms from him and meeting her mismatched eyes to his crimson ones. She felt like she could flutter away at the smallest amount of breeze. Was this really happening? What if she ruined it suddenly? So many thoughts and questions raced through her mind. Her attention straining to focus on one thing.

The moment Inverno mentioned lunch, the girl transformed back into her human form. The girl seemed excited at the mention of food. She had asked him what the choices were in terms of places to go. "W-well. . . there's a b-burger place, a g-good Italian restaurant, a-and a nice M-Mexican place. . .", he told her. Those were at least the three nearby places he could think of. "Or I c-could c-cook for you. . .", he told her as a fourth option.
The girl suddenly jumped up and pulled him into a hug. Inverno blushed as he hugged the girl back. The boy had rarely been hugged by anyone. While it wasn't something he was used to, he could easily get used to it. The girl stated that she couldn't wait to get food, something Inverno had in mind as well.
However, she turned serious within a moment, unwrapping her arms from him. The albino meister did the same. The girl asked if she could handle him, stating that she hadn't met anyone who could so far. The boy smiled reassuringly. "I-I'm sure I c-can. . .", he told her. To be honest, Inverno was an extremely patient individual, and could put up with almost anything. The girl didn't seem too bad at all, and the benefits of a firearm partner might outweigh the costs, especially since the two seemed to be so compatible.

He rattled off the options...well stuttered them, but Cass overlooked his stuttering. Somehow she only picked out the answers from him. The burger place sounded good, but she knew how sometimes they didn't have options for her. She loved Italian food and Mexican. She was so hungry she couldn't decide. Finally, he said something that made her look at him in a way that said 'really!?'. The option sounded very appealing to her. He must of had a place of his own, her place didn't have a stove, or a kitchen. Well there was, but Cass didn't like to share a refrigerator and when the girls found out she didn't eat meat (it was a comment she said when she saw one of the making Chicken Parmesan, and was offered a bite) they all gawked and made her feel a little out of place. She said something a little too openly and they all screamed at her for ruining their dinner. That's the last time she planned on going into the kitchen with them. Cass never tried to convert people, but they offered to share, and when she was being pressured to eat it...well, it was their fault.
Cass looked him again in the eyes as he said he would be able to handle her. She beamed with joy, "Really!?" Again she hugged him, this time with quite a bit of strength in her grip. "Oh, this is going to be exciting! I have a meister and I haven't even had my first class!" She wiggled back and forth as she held her arms around him. She was so happy, she wanted to say she loved him. But she didn't, at least not like love love. Hell, she liked him, but saying 'I like you so much!' just didn't sound as nice as 'I love you'. It would be bad if she said it, he might take it the wrong way.
Food was a priority, and having a home cooked meal sounded much more satisfying than having restaurant food. Her arms still around her, now, meister, her head tilted up. "What did you have in mind for cooking?" She would ask instead of offering her thoughts. Maybe he would choose something she could eat, if not surely they could stop at the grocery store and she could pick out a few items. Somehow stir frying sounded very exciting, maybe he would like what she made. Suddenly, she realized what she was thinking. No, he was offering to cook, not you...he's the one that is going to make food, not you. Perhaps it would be best to tell him, right away, so he didn't start to make food, or think of meat and want that. "..um...I'm a vegetarian.." She looked down and away letting her grip falter. It wouldn't be the first time someone began to gawk or scold her for not eating animals, so she braced for words that would surely make her feel bad for not liking to eat meat.

As soon as he told her that he himself could cook, the golden-blond gave him the 'are you serious?' look. Of course, Inverno was serious about wanting to cook for her. As someone who was most likely going to be his weapon, cooking for her seemed like a good start. But the main problem was where they would eat. He lived in the boy's dorm, along with an obnoxious meister and weapon team. But even then, they could head to an outside table, while he brought out the food for the two of them from his dorm.
After telling her that he could handle her, Cass got excited. She would then end up hugging the Italian meister tightly. Of course, this didn't bother the meister, as he could take this, even deliver it. She would then comment on how exciting it was to have a meister before her first class. The girl tilted back and fourth, still hugging him.
The weapon's head tilted up. Cass would ask him what he had in mind for cooking. At this point, Inverno was thinking about making her a Parmesan dish, something he learned how to make at the orphanage. However, before he could share this, Cass told him she was a vegetarian. Her grip faltered on that note, something familiar to Inverno, nervousness. The boy wrapped his arms around her reassuringly.
"I could m-make something for you. Do you l-like Eggplant Parmesan?", he asked her. Instead of being angry at her, his tone was thankful, but still shy. He was glad she'd admit this to him right here and now. Such discussions made cooking much easier, prevented him from violating someone's choice in diet, like he could've with her. It would avert the disaster of having to deal with someone's food allergy.
"If n-not, name something I c-could make for y-you. . .", he continued.

It was a relief to witness how patient he was being with her. Almost like he enjoyed her personality and Cass wasn't going to take it for granted. When she began to feel unsure, Inverno wrapped his arms around her reassuringly and Cass perked back up, looking into his blood red eyes. He gave a suggestion, and she smiled. Cass had never had Eggplant Parmesan, of course she'd had eggplant, but never Parmesan. She gave a large grin, "Never had it, but I would love to try it" She hopped a little, arms around his neck loosely, as she had relaxed. Cass, even though she'd just met him, was already comfortable with hugging and holding onto him. He was her meister and if he was going to stick by her it would probably be good for him to see just how touchy-feely she was.
Cass released her arms and moved one hand down the length of his left arm then grasped his hand, "Come! Let's get food!" Her stomach grumbled shortly after her excited exclamation. Pulling and tugging at his arm she moved in the direction of the dormitories nearly chomping at the bit to move faster.
