Overview
The Death City actors guild is having their open auditions today. The instructions are fairly simple for signing up. Just fill out a simple form (listed below), pick up your number and pin it on your clothes, and have a monologue ready to recite. The flier also says to bring comfortable shoes as you may be asked to act some scenes out. Right now, the morning group is inside the stage doing their auditions, you have some time to finish up your paperwork and talk to some of the other people stuck in the waiting room with you.
Hope you don't have stage fright
Setting:
The waiting room is simply an old backstage prop room. It's quite spacious and there's plenty of props still piled high into towers of clutter after the mad rush to clean it for the auditions. There are a few steel chairs on the walls for people to wait but there are only 3 other people already there constantly moving around. There are only two doors. The one in the back that leads to Death City and the one that leads to stage, currently being guarded by a tired looking young woman sitting on a table besides the door. She has brown hair and honey colored eyes, not that you can see them much since she's half asleep.
Sprawled out in front of her, in as neat as a pile as she can manage to make, are all the numbers for those auditioning and the paperwork that needs to filled out, with a box right under to store all the completed paperwork in. There's a few boxes of pens near the edge too, but you can barely see them under the stack of applications. There's also a refrigerator to the corner to the right of the application table. It's stocked full of water bottles for people to take with a sign saying "Please take a bottle of water" on the front door.

One could of never guessed Lynn to be the theatrical type by looking at her. That might be because she wasn't. With her lacking eloquence in her speech and just over all inexperience in anything acting related, Lynn probably was the least likely to get a part in the play here. In fact, the only reason this meister was here was because she lost a bet. To make a long story short, another student bet her that she couldn't beat him in a race around the park. The loser had to audition for the play at the Hopkins Theater. Obviously Lynn lost or otherwise she wouldn't be here. How the two students came to an agreement on such a bet, Lynn couldn't remember. Either way, she was a girl of her word and showed up to the auditions. Since she honestly wasn't serious about them and didn't even want to be in the play, Lynn didn't plan to take these auditions seriously. Hell, she didn't even know what play she was auditioning for. Yet, instead of being annoyed or brood about loosing the bet and having to waste time at the auditions, Lynn thought it might be fun. Since she wasn't serious about getting a part in the play there was no stress for the girl and she could just go loose and have fun. Maybe even make a fool of herself, but that was part of the fun. When Lynn first walked into the waiting room, she took a form from the counter with the sleeping woman and filled it out with a pen she found on the desk. She then dropped off her form to the sleeping woman at the counter. With Lynn's poor penmanship, it almost looked like the girl filled out the form in some code or other language than English. It was a bit strange since girls most of the time had neat handwriting. She almost felt bad for the poor soul that had to try to decipher her form. After putting her form on the pile with the others, Lynn grabbed a number and pinned the 58 to her striped tank top. Even though she wasn't taking this auditioning thing seriously, Lynn still dressed nice. Well, nice for her. She even wore a black headband to make her usually messy uneven hair look a bit more neater. She decided to grab a water bottle since they were free anyway. Auditions seemed to be running slow, well to her at least. It has gotten to the point it was only her and two other girls. Lynn sat in one of the chairs sideways and would occasionally take a sip of her water from time to time. It was clear the girl was not nervous at all about the auditions ahead of her. "So, what brings you guys here?" Lynn asked, not directed to anyone in particular. Outfit

Lei had always been interested in auditioning for the school theatre production at her old school; with her friends keeping her busy she never seemed to get round to it however. On her first day she had noticed the audition poster on a Shibusen, this idea immediately filled her with excitement, she may not have any acting experience but she’d give it a good shot! Is there any better way to make new friends? She may have not been here long but with no friends she began to feel a little lonely.
The backstage door was located behind a fairly small Death City theatre, located just outside the heart of the city. She forced the door open using the metal bar; stiff from age she hardly managed to stand up as it swung open.
It opened up to an old fashion backstage prop room, cramped and filled with a random assortment of strange theatre backdrops and stage pieces. The wooden floor creaking from the steps of several other pondering Shibusen students; only one girl was sat down on the steel chairs by the wall. Her demeanour was rather casual considering how nicely she had dressed up; she carried on perching sideways on her chair, taking the occasional swig from a bottle of water, overall hardly acknowledging Lei had entered the prop room.
Lei began to take awkward steps towards a half asleep lady behind a counter, every step making a sickening creak. The woman was fast asleep by the time she had reached the table; looking down she noticed a pile of signup sheets. She carefully picked on off the pile, filling it in before pinning the number ‘31’ to herself; trying not to awaken the woman.
She prepared to turn around, focusing on trying to make the ancient floor quiet despite her steps.
"So, what brings you guys here?"
The girl’s voice took Lei completely off guard, leading her to knock over the box of water bottles. In a fleeting panic she bent over, grabbing at the water bottles but most of them managing to roll away with a life of their own.
She bit her lip, trying not to cry from the embarrassment as she carried on grabbing for bottles.

When Lynn left that question in the air, she didn't expect much of a response. Maybe a person or two give one sentence replies or something like that. Everyone here seemed too tense or nervous for any small talk. Lynn probably was the only relaxed person here. Probably because she didn't care about the auditions and was here only due to a bet. Either way the brown haired meister was bored. She never liked sitting still or awkward silences. Well for now it was the sitting still part since she was changing her seating position every five minutes. Crash! The meister fell out of her steel chair at the sound of something falling onto the ground. Lynn rubbed her head in annoyance when she looked up to see a little girl fumbling over some fallen bottles. She figured that the girl must of knocked them all over, that would explain the noise Lynn heard that startled her and made her fall. Lynn took off her falling off headband and put it back on in place. The meister then got up, brushed off her jeans, and headed over to stand behind the smaller girl. Standing at only five feet tall, Lynn rarely ever met anyone that was around her age and shorter than her. Since now that was she was standing over the water bottle dropping girl, Lynn could tell that this girl was smaller than her. Maybe younger as well. Yet this girl seemed close to her age as well. Maybe a fellow student of Shibusen? Lynn did feel like she has seen this girl's face somewhere before. Maybe class or in the halls. "Need any help?" Lynn asked, reaching over the girl's shoulder and picked up a bottle of water from the ground. She then handed the bottle to the girl. She seemed to be a mess dropping and missing bottles. And Lynn thought she had terrible depth perception with her only having one working eye. She figured that this girl probably must be very nervous for the auditions. "Hey, it's ok. Relax and breath. I doubt you will do well on your auditions if you suffocate," the red and green eyed girl joked with a smile, trying to cheer up the nervous girl. She patted the smaller girl on the shoulder for comfort. It was clear that this girl was insanely tense and the run away bottles only made it worse. Outfit

‘Hey, it's ok. Relax and breathe. I doubt you will do well on your auditions if you suffocate,"
Lei cranked her head around to face the girl with a hand placed softly on her shoulder. The girl had a kind face, but a striking appearance; two different colour eyes? Something Lei had only read of in storybooks and not something you see everyday.
This feature began to make Lei wonder whether the girl was some kind of magical being, like a witch…. She was too jumbled to say anything though; her eyes were filling up with tears and her nose red raw from the evil kishin called the common cold.
Lei began to regret auditioning at all, so far it’d just gone badly and now this girl was looking down at her, waiting for a response.
She just simply looked into the girl eyes for a few moments, hypnotized; her aching wrists causing her to drop the one bottle she managed to catch.
She wanted to say something but her heart beating out of her chest overshadowed all the thoughts of what she could possibly say inside her head.

Was this girl ok? Lynn tried her best to keep a straight and not show any shock, disgust, or over concern on her face. Yet Lynn was never the type to hid any emotions so all three jumbled up onto her face. It was kind of like her small mouth hung open in shock and her eyes showed mixed concern and disgust. Well, it turned to more concern once the girl started to cry.
While Lynn didn't mind the girl sniffling and filling with tears, she was all for expressing your emotions and not bottling anything, but she had no idea what to do. Empathy was not Lynn's strong point. Sure she liked people, she just never really knew how to comfort someone. It looks like maternal gene has skipped this female. One thing for sure was on the young meister's mind, were these auditions so bad that they caused someone to the verge of tears?
She knew how stress could affect her, but this girl that was sniffling in front of her looked like she was about to brake apart like a fine china pony after being pushed off the shelf. At this moment, Lynn had half a mind to just grab that girl by the hand, drag her out of the theater, and treat them to some ice cream. Mostly because Lynn likes ice cream, but this girl also needed some happiness. And wasn't ice cream frozen happiness?
Yet, the meister knew she couldn't do that. First of all, this girl might of prepared for weeks, maybe months, for this audition and that wouldn't be fair if some stranger just dragged her away like a creeper kidnapper. And Lynn didn't want to be convicted of kidnapping anytime soon. Plus she had that bet, dare, whatever it was to uphold. So for now, she had to find someway to comfort the dazed girl in front of her.
"Hey, if you are going to cry do it now. It's not healthy to hold back tears," the meister said as she kneeled down to get on a more even level with the smaller girl. She looked at the girl's confused face, it was as if she was seeing Lynn but wasn't at the same time. Lynn waved her hand in front of the girls face repetitively to get her attention. "Hello? Are you listening to me?" She continued to wave her hand until she thought she got at least some of the girl's attention.
"Hey, are you ok?" This time Lynn's voice was softer with a kinder edge to it. She honestly wanted to help calm the girl. "Now forget about those waters for a minute," she said as she picked up the bottle the girl dropped as well. "My name's Lynn. Now just take a deep breath and relax. If you need a hug, a lot of people say I'm quite huggable." Lynn had put her waters down and held her arms up as an invite for a hug. Hell, she didn't mind giving hugs to complete strangers. To her hugs made everything better. That and food.

Lei threw herself forward at the girls open arms, hugging with a suffocating grip; by now she was in a massive crying fit. Her howling was attracting the attention of the entire group who just observed her with awkward stares. She was too busy bawling to realize just how uncomfortable the situation was for the both of them in this moment in time.
“THAAA…….KUUUUU……..MIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSHHHHHH……UHHHHHHHHUUUHUHUUUUUUUU”
Her words came out completely incomprehensible but were still loud enough to make the entire room echo; awakening the once stone asleep attendant. A mix of tears and flem were making her tears sound a little more demented than the average person; but Lynn was more worried about the fact that every possible horrendous body fluid was leaking onto her chest.

Even though Lynn was the one that offered the hug, she was a bit taken by surprise when the smaller girl latch onto her in a death grip. When she said hug, Lynn expected a soft gentle hug friendly hug. Not a be strangled and have to die through hug! Oh well, at least this girl wasn't afraid to cry in public, she will give her that. And Lynn was the one that told her not to hold back tears. Well those tears were now were soaking up on Lynn's shoulder. Well tank tops could always be washed so no big deal. Lynn just patted the girl's head, not really sure what to say. Mostly because she couldn't understand what the girl was saying. She guessed it might of been a thank you of some sorts, but she wasn't sure. Despite having a younger brother, who she loved with all her heart, Lynn was not good with dealing with crying kids. Sure, she was great when it came to playing or entertaining children, but not when it came to comforting them. Well this girl wasn't a kid, she was probably only a year or two younger than Lynn. Either way, she was crying and Lynn had very little she could do. "Um, your welcome?" She said, not really sure what else to say. She has noticed that other people were staring at them. Not that she minded, they could stare all they want. What did bother her was that the desk lady woke up and it looked like she was contemplating on whether to call security or not. Well, they were kind of disturbing the peace a bit. Right now, the last thing Lynn wanted was to be dragged out of a building by security. After a few minutes, the meister broke free of the girl's grip and stood up. She walked over to the desk and grabbed a box of tissues. "Here, You might want to clean yourself up before your audition," Lynn said tossing the tissue box to the girl. When the girl was done she would clean herself up, but for now her focus was helping the girl. It was her that actually wanted to audition, not Lynn. "Now breath, everything is going to be ok," Lynn said with a reassuring smile. Click!

The box of tissues were more like a deadly projectile to Lei, smacking her head on in the face causing her to role over backwards. She didn’t exactly feel any pain but the shock caused her to look up, pale as a sheet, at this girl; all sign of snuffling and tears eliminated.
There was a slight gap where her brain didn’t completely compute what had just happened. The girl carried on watching; to Lei just a watery blob with dots for eyes and a stripy stomach.
Wobbling like a gelatin snack Lei gradually stood up; trying to balance herself using her dusty hands – backrooms never were that clean. When making sure she was standing steady she took a quick glance at the girl, just a quick one mind you before viciously wiping her nose on her jumper arm.

It might of been due to the fact she has vision in only one eye and terrible depth perception, but Lynn never had that good of an aim. So it was no surprise that she missed the girl's hands. What had surprised the young meister that the box smacked the girl in the face and caused her to fall back. Instead of right away showing some concern or try to help the girl up, Lynn broke into laughter. Ok, that might of not been the nicest thing to do, but she couldn't help it. The girl didn't seem in pain anyway, just paper white from shock. At least her crying stopped. "S-Sorry. You ok there?" Lynn asked after her laughter had stopped. When the girl tried to stand up, seeing her shaking like a baby deer, Lynn offered her hand. Maybe the girl didn't see it or didn't want it, but she stood up by herself without Lynn's help. "See, much better," Lynn said, crossing her arms over her chest. Ok, maybe not that much better. Well, at least the girl was up and not crying. Lynn then looked down at the floor, seeing the water bottles still rolling around on the floor, and squatted down to start picking up bottles. Once her arms were full, she would put what she had in the fridge and then go back and pick up some more. She didn't mind cleaning up, someone had to and clearly this girl wasn't in the right state of mind to. "So, do audition really stress you out this much?" Lynn asked. She wasn't trying to act rude or mean or anything. In truth, she was only curious. "Oh, and you still haven't given me your name," she added, realizing that she had no idea who this girl she was helping was. Outfit

“…I’m Lei”
She snuffled between moments where you was wiping the beautiful nose mess onto her sweater. She may not be bawling anymore but the tears had made her inflamed throat even worse! It felt like not even an iceberg could cool this crumbling chimney.
She looked up without a seconds thought, giving a huge toothy smile; unfortunately her face was as physically swollen as her throat, covered in a blotchy mess of sickly skin and enflamed features. It was obvious she wasn’t 100% and coming to the audition was a severely erroneous course of action; yet she didn’t want her practice of Da Deng Dian to go to waste. Lei had yet to realize that Peking opera wasn’t as much an art form in the west compared to her home country… Her father had taught her the many plays from a young age and Lei had become very skilled at traditional Chinese music; with a cold however, that might slightly be more difficult to portray.
Everything hurt, every little piece stung like hell and if it wasn’t baked into her that musical theatre was one of the most important things in the world, then she’d be on her way home.
She tried to bounce over to the other girl, looking as energetic as possible; accidentally slipping on a rabid water bottle…

There, Lynn thought she got all the water bottles. Maybe might of missed one or two, but that didn't matter. Right? Oh well, she got most of them and that's all what mattered. Not that the girl was standing, Lynn got a better look at her. Like Lynn thought, Lei was quite a bit shorter than her. That and the girl looked like a giant tomato! Her face was all swollen and red from sickness and her nose was running like fucking Niagara Falls! And that same snot and tears now stained Lynn's shoulder. While she didn't care too much about her physical appearance, Lynn did care about her health. For that Lei's sake Lynn hoped that she won't get sick from this. "Nice to meet you Lei." It was a bit hard to get mad at this girl with her surprising energy and upbeat attitude even after just crying all over a stranger and clearly suffering from a cold. This audition must mean a lot to her if she came here even at this at this state. Theater people, they had some will power. As the girl started to head towards her, Lynn noticed that she had forgotten a bottle. "Hey, watch ou-" Before Lynn could finished her warning, Lei had already stepped on the bottle and slipped forward. Lynn sprung forward to try to catch the girl. While she was successful in catching Lei, the girl was not well balanced. Thud!Lynn ended up falling backwards onto the hard dusty floor while pulling Lei down on top of her. She was surprised no one came for them yet with all the noise they were making. Or that they weren't kicked out and on the streets right now. "Hey, are you ok?" Lynn asked Lei. Kind of odd since Lynn was the one that broke Lei's fall. Either way, she was worried about this girl. Outfit

Lei lay on the floor, out, completely stone cold on top of Lynn. Tongue sticking out the side of her mouth; dribble sliding down on to the dusty floor.
(now might be a good time for rocton to enter-SITUATION- two students on the floor, one knocked out, everyone else staring in horror)

She chained it to a nearby railing and removed the key as she quickly shuffled for a box mounted on the back of the motorcycle, pulling out a black hat and a pair of sunglasses. She felt weird not having her sword along with her, but what are the odds of running into trouble in Death City of all places? For once, Iris wasn't looking for a fight.
One might wonder what the 19-year-old Exorcist agent was doing at an audition in Death City, and the answer was two-fold, both fairly simple. For one, to kill time. She hasn't been given an official assignment yet and hasn't been approved for any missions she's applied for yet, and it could be a few days before that happens. The other reason being she's done a convincing job of making other Exorcists at the HQ think she was a cold, distant individual. It made her giggle a little bit to herself. She certainly loved to fight, but she also grew up watching movies constantly. Sure, they were action movies, but her secret desire was to act. She gets a lot of practice, acting like she does in public, but that's just one act. She was here to see if she could do more than that.
She opened the door, ready for...!
Two girls younger than her decked on the floor. She grinned like a maniac, trying not to laugh. She couldn't wait to hear this one. She walked over to fill out the paperwork silently, got her number, and turned to the two girls. Bending down a little with her hands behind her back.
"So... how's your day going?" she asked with a grin. She really was trying not to laugh, for all she knows they could actually be hurt and then she would feel like a jerk for laughing.

Lynn looked at Lei with a mix of horror and confusion. Had she just killed the girl? Did her cold get worse? Was faking? Was just messing with her? If she was Lynn would not be a happy camper! The meister poked the girl's head a bit, trying to wake her up. "Hey Lei or whatever your name is? Wake up!" Lynn said as she tried to shove Lei off of her without harming the girl. Not much luck. Lynn did manage to push the girl a bit off her chest enough so she could prop herself up on her elbows. And it as she did so, a voice rang from above. Lynn looked up to see a black haired girl grinning down at them like they were a bunch of circus clowns for her entertainment. Ok, that might not be what the older girl was actually thinking, but that's what Lynn thought she must be thinking. It might be the fact that Lynn hit her head and hurt her back a bit from catching Lei, but she was not in the best of moods at the moment. And here she came looking to have fun and go crazy at an audition she didn't care about. "Oh, just peachy. Can't you see we are having a blast?" Lynn said, plastering on a fake and slightly annoyed smile. Her voice was blatant with sarcasm. What was up with this girl? Just coming over with a grin on her face and asking about her day when she had a passed out student on her lap that might be dead?! And not give a hand to help or anything? A bad first impression this was. Outfit
