As you slowly wake up, something nags at your mind. It's somewhere between intuition and sensation, like a gentle pressure working its way into the back of your mind... a soft, yet unsettling feeling that something isn't right, that something has changed... that you're not where you're supposed to be. That last one sticks out oddly in your thoughts as your eyes flutter open and you look around to find yourself standing, somehow in the middle of Death City.
Or at least, it seems like Death City at first glance.
The sense of wrongness is almost palpable in the air. Nothing seems quite natural; mid-day shadows quiver and shake at the edges like pieces of grass caught in a breeze, buildings lean and warp at unsettling angles, the street signs and posters display nothing but odd blotches of inky darkness. Overhead, in an empty sky, the sun and moon sit side by side and stare down at the world, their laughing voices slurred like drunkards. And all around you the city is empty, not another person to be seen...
