Imma suggest this topic be made a Announcement and replace the Beta month announcement since that's over and it would also make the Help desk a lot more available for easy access.

*blinks at animated desk* Riiiiiiiiiiight...
Anyway, I had a minor curiousity. I'm well aware that threads should be interactive, but are solo threads acceptable as well? I haved checked to see if you can double post, but it looks like it.

Good question, Wasaki. Here's how it breaks down.
Online roleplay is done online for a reason. That reason is to roleplay with others. We spin out ideas and bounce off each others suggestions. Roleplaying is as much a game as it is writing a story, and the goal is for everyone involved to have a good time, from the authors to the audience. Not only that, but we award points for each post that a roleplayer puts up. If roleplayers were allowed to roleplay "with themselves", they would not be challenged by other characters and their conflicting desires and motivations.
That said, there will occasionally be times when a player has two characters that have completely legitimate reasons to force a player to roleplay "with themselves". These instances will be rare, and I cannot think of any reason why a character would only be posting with themselves for any substantial length of time. However, if something like this does come up, go ahead and send a Mod specific details on what the roleplay is about, why your character(s) is(are) alone, and what the goal of the roleplay will be, and the staff will be happy to help you iron out the details.
Remember, this is a roleplay site, not a fanfiction site.

Ah, thank you plenty oh wonderful wooden one.
My question arose more for the simple fact that in most settings that I've been in, I have always ended having a more than ravenous posting output. I guess the solo idea was more the simple fact that I'm looking to make SoV my home and I'd hate to simply be bound in a situation where I'm stuck waiting for someone who has either left without a word or is super busy and can't post.
I understand quite well that these are facts of rping, but I daresay I'll never accept it if I have the choice. However, you've answered my question quite finely and I'm thrilled to have found this place--to the Character section!

Just a question. What are your thoughts on meisters free-lancing? As in they take missions but also randomly partnering up participating demon weapons temporarily until the end of the mission...? While having no partner outside of missions...

I think the only way to do something like that would be to join the Exorcists or to be an extremely high ranking Meister. That, and unless they have a flexible soul listed as an ability, they most likely couldn't wield more than a couple weapons. The point of Shibusen is to form a team that grows stronger as a unit. Without a long-standing weapon, the Meister won't get any stronger, so it's better for both to form a solid team. Personally, I'm going to say no to this one.

I wonder....is it really out of the ordinary for a Weapon/Meister to not marry their partner, but someone else instead?

Why on earth would that be out of the ordinary? There's Weapon/Meister teams that are both males, or both females, for example, and there's no romance going on there. In fact, I don't believe I've seen anyone on this site proclaim that all partnerships must end in future marriage.

Okay! I dunno, I just got one of those feelings where I was all, "I should ask...just to be sure..." Thank you!

Just some questions that came up today that were worth putting on here for general reference.
1)"Are Immortals (vampires like Mosquito, werewolves like Free) allowed as part of the Magical Animal race?"
Answer: 'Immortal' generally refers to any of the 'big legendary monsters.' An Immortal is an IMMORTAL. We have magical creatures/animals for a reason, and the race option also extends to monster species, if they're not too hax. Immortal's a totally different tier from that. Comparatively speaking you'd rank an Immortal around Shinigami levels.
2) "Am I allowed to have a gunblade, gunlance, any iteration of 'two weapons mashed into one super weapon?'"
No. Demon Weapons are magical weaponry. Things like reloading and requiring ammo don't exist for them. As such, making a Weapon that's effectively TWO weapons at the same time is hax, especially since Demon Weapons were created through the act of uniting 'item + witch soul' originally. All subsequent Demon Weapons are the result of bloodline lineages passing them down. So long as you're just using it as a lance/blade, save for the 'long range blast attack' Resonance - which you'll need to purchase later on.
3) "Can my demon weapon character be paired up with and wield another demon weapon character, knowing that we won't be able to do resonance techniques?"
Answer: Weapons don't wield Weapons unless there's a substantial amount of good storyline explanation, long-established character interaction and relationship in place, compatible personalities/wavelength, and not being brand new to the board. And even then it's guaranteed to wrinkle noses in doubt. In other words, it's not impossible, it's just rare as.. well, it's so rare I don't even have an analogy for it. It's so rare that it's the analogy for other rare things.
4) "Why does the Exorcist faction IC heavily disapprove of Demon Weapons joining their ranks?"
Answer: Because they're demon weapon. Shibusen was FOUNDED on the principle alone that everyone in the world hates them. They eat souls, run the risk of going rampant with power lust, if they lose control their weapon powers can harm innocent people around them, etc, etc

Is there any plans for the witch factions, specifically Heretic Cabal, to have any kind of Rp or leader?

All of the Factions will eventually have leaders. However, being that right now we have a smaller member base than is needed to make full on faction warfare feasible, this does not appear to be a very high priority. Rather than worry about leaders right now, you should focus on building characters for factions with other people so that there is even a group of characters to lead in the first place.
