A silent morning, a refreshing air. The grass rustled as his feet trampled against them to enter that same spot as usual. In the midst of the foliage entered Ishida Sai with a listless manner as his eyes examined the empty area around him. The sunlight was leaking through the array of leaves, peeking out out its influences past the Earth's creations. It mattered not, whether it'd be rain, snow, or even storm making its presence, his "calling" from the very origins beckoned him. Implored him. Ordered him, to continue down the path his family have followed in previous generations stemming from the Civil War in the East.
The thoughts of the fight with Iris replayed itself in his thoughts. The ferocity and the damage he dealt... His eyes glazed as his cranium whirred slowly in the midst of his memories, showing his in-attentive-ness of his surroundings for that one moment. It stopped at the moment of his Soul Purge usage and its effects. Thinking about it, perhaps that fight would've been over. No. It should've been, had it been even more damaging. The pain stemming on Iris's face and the curling of her body to help deal with the damage was dire proof of it.
So what was missing exactly? Form? His every movement for that single Soul Purge was lacking? Wasteful? Or is it the flow? Was he not able to efficiently shoot out the maximum wavelengths into the enemy? Or maybe it was both of them after all? There was only one way to find out. A way that would even be painful for him, yet it was possibly the most efficient than simply throwing out wavelengths at trees until it improved by many years of practice.
Through the stimulation of certain points, it would serve as an indicator to reveal if the flow and the form were efficient. One in that it'd send pain jolting through if neither of these factors were up to par. Yet, if pain failed to appear, it would be an indicator that improvement has been made. A seemingly inefficient method, yet the efficiency can be proved that the time in improvement compared to without was much shorter.
"Time to work on it, I guess..." he silently remarked to himself once fully entering the very middle of the clearing, the dread was evident in his face. A much dour expression grew on.
His callused and weathered fingers reached inside his very pockets to retrieve a number of acupuncture needles. From there, he lifted up the right sleeve of his hoodie before stabbing a couple of the sharp instruments into his skin. Penetrating deep inside his muscles as they painfully stimulated the pressure points within as blood started to leak out.
"Ow..." the teen uttered with a hiss.
The muscles experienced a "constricted" experience under the stimulation. Each clench of his fingers felt unreal. Almost ethereal-like...

The tree, standing tall and firm ever since its infancy from the earth as it swayed against the light breeze. And fate would see to it that it'd fall prey to Sai's rehearsal of a certain damaging technique as a loud impact filled the silence before he screamed in utter pain at the recoil.
"Gwaaaaaaaarggh!"
His left hand squeezed against tightly against his wrist, shaking as the pain was still pulsating and drilling through his very nerves. His back hunched over as he put much attention towards the overload of nerve stimulations. The blood slowly eking out of the jutting needles as it dripped down on the grass. Dotting it with red.
The sweat from the painful exertions dripped down his brow, yet his eyes still flared to continue as he whispered, "One more time..."
And so the forest continued to be filled with loud impacts coupled with screams, until only one impact and no scream... While the birds flew the coop from the "harassment" of his actions.
