With the Factions upgrade and Territory Control module just about completed it's time to open up the floor and ask possibly the most critical question.
Here's a quick run down on what we're looking for and how we're going to do it.
Shibusen is run, ultimately, by Shinigami -- and one day, that will mean Kid. However, with so vast an organization there are always various levels of management; in light of the events at the Greater Nevada Zoo and whispers of new threats cropping up all across the world it's only natural that they'd be looking for someone to help take the reins. The newly created Chief Administrator job at Shibusen is only for the most trustworthy; whoever gets the job will be Shinigami's second in command, overseeing both day-to-day and tactical decision making.
Write up a brief letter to Shinigami from your character explaining why they'd be the ideal candidate for the new job. Only Shibusen Teachers and Deathscythe characters may apply. You may wish to make an entirely new character for this or adapt an existing one.
WITCHES of the MASS
With the sudden and still-unexplained disappearance of Mabaa several months ago, the position of Grand Witch is open for the first time in centuries. A special gathering is being convened to determine who will take the position... and the competition could get fierce! Only the shrewdest, most powerful, and most influential witches have a shot, it seems, but in all reality the question of Mabaa's successor is an open question. It could be anyone!
All players with witch characters who'd like to try for the Faction Leader / Grand Witch position should sign up in this thread. A roleplay thread will be opened up once there are at least three applicants; the new Grand Witch (Faction Leader) will be chosen by an anonymous public vote once all the competing witches have made an appearance and staked their claims. There may be a few surprises waiting as well, so be ready for anything!
The EXORCISTS
General-Major Clarke Godwynn, for all his skill and experience, is a man in his later years. Make no mistake -- he's still sharp mentally and physically and can put a bulls-eye in most targets no later than his second shot... however, he knows that age is beginning to catch up to him. With the Exorcists finally up on their feet as a newly minted (and highly funded) peacekeeping force he's looking for someone young, capable, and with a strong vision for the organization to take the reins, choosing to become more of a figurehead than an administrator.
To that end, he's interviewing a number of candidates. To apply for the Exorcist Faction Leader role, post your in-character answers to the interview questions below:
The HERETIC CABAL
The Heretic Cabal has always been a bit... fragmented. Formed from the remnants of Arachnophobia there was no clear leadership for the first few years. When leaders did begin to emerge they clashed with one another, leading to petty squabbles, infighting, and disunity. It got so bad that there were even some Cabal members found murdered in their bunks... or not found at all. Yet you rose from this chaos to unite the chaotic voices of the Cabal and give them renewed purpose.
Tell us your character's story of how they became the leader of the Heretic Cabal. How did they join the cult? What job(s) did they have in Fey Cten before taking over? Did they become leader by popular support, by intimidation, or by cutting deals with other potential leaders? How does your character view the legacy of Arachne and what are their plans for the Cabal?
[/ul]
You may be asking yourself: do I have to have a character finished and approved before I do any of these applications? The answer is no -- only the Witches of the Mass, since it has an RP component, requires a finalized character. All the other applications can be done without a finished character. However, your application and your Faction Leader character SHOULD match up in the end -- this provision is just to keep people from making characters tailored to the job and not being able to use them.

- Name: (Just write your character's full name)
- "What experience do you have leading a military unit?"
- "You're facing a Kishin Egg of unknown strength and capabilities. For weapons you have a choice between a hand gun, three frag grenades, and a combat knife -- but you can only choose one. Which weapon do you select and why?"
- "In 'The Art of War' Sun Tzu wrote that 'the clever combatant imposes his will on the enemy, but does not let his enemy's will be imposed on him'. What does this mean to you as a leader?"
- "There are those in the international community who say that the Exorcists are fearmongers, a modern-day inquisition born from a moral panic not unlike the Salem witch trials. How would you respond to these detractors?"
- "Before I make you the functional leader of the Exorcists I have to know what your vision is for the organization. Where do you see us five years down the line? How about ten?"
