Zoo Trips and Sudden Twists? [OPEN]

(OOC: This thread's open to everyone, Shibusen students and otherwise. Of course, if you're a witch or a Kishin Egg you'll probably want to keep a low profile. Just sayin'.)

The Greater Nevada Zoo! Davian Boyle sighed with contentment as he led a troupe of students in through the main entrance, taking in the sights and sounds of a place alive with wildlife.

As part of his ongoing class -- and to give the students some downtime between harrowing life-or-death missions and mind-racking assignments -- Davian had arranged for a special trip to the only locale within a hundred miles where the students could observe and enjoy a vast array of (interconnected) life from across the world. Officially, the purpose of the visit was to familiarize the students with dangerous creatures they might encounter on missions into the wilds; unofficially, everyone knew it was really just a have-fun field trip. Of course, he still had to keep up appearances.

"Okay everyone, remember to pay close attention to the creatures you'll see here today; there's always the chance you'll encounter them in the wild and as Shibusen students you should know how to handle yourselves." He paused, showing the gate guard his pass and special license to open-carry a firearm; after getting waved through he continued. "Now, those of you with a talent for Soul Perception should take this chance to familiarize yourselves with the nature of non-human souls. The zoo can be a lot of fun, but we are here to learn, too."

"Any questions?"

James strolled along, just behind the Professor. He was carrying nothing but a pen and pad; the more heavy duty learning equipment had been left back in his condo within Death City. The zoo was filled with swathes of uncivilised animals, both inside the cages, and out. Dozens of children ran amok, apparently undaunted by the sight of a group of comparitively old people. If his fellow students were anything like he was, then the group on the field trip would appear to be one large scowl. He did not like this. Not one bit.

It was hot.
It was sweaty.
It was crap.

The only thing that made this trip bearable was the delectable tones of the Professor in front of him, who was currently giving instruction. James actually looked up to Professor Boyle, such was the majesty of that one lesson he gave...

"Any questions?" Said the Professor, finishing his little introductory preamble to the zoo. James could think of none, for once, and so stayed quiet.

Today was one of those days where Vespera was regretting her fashion sense. In her attempts to look more stylish, she didn't realize that wearing layers in the bloody desert wasn't a good idea. Fortunately, she had some foresight today. She went for something of a mix today. She was wearing a yellow blouse rather than black, and it was open for air flow. Rather than a t-shirt she had a white tank top with wide straps, and rather than jeans she was wearing beige shorts that came down to just above her knees. No socks today, just sandals, and to top it all off, a straw hat to try and give herself some shade.

Her tan was exactly where she wanted it, and she didn't want it to get ruined by the sun beaming down on her. The one thing she's regretting right now, though, is this kind of outfit is far outside of what she would normally wear. She likes to wear long clothing. She was dwelling so much on the idea that people may pay too much attention to her today that everything Professor Boyle was saying was going in one ear and out the other. So much so that when he asked for questions she had no idea what was going on.

A wake up call to pay attention, perhaps? She hadn't even looked to see if her partner, Lynn, was on the trip as well. And her classmate James was in front of her, should she say hello? Vespera was unusually scatterbrained today. Maybe the animals were making her nervous.

He had never been to a proper, exotic zoo, and hand never realized there could be a zoo such as this, and the sounds, the smells, the entirety of the location filled him with a sudden shock. He had rather liked the trip, sitting with his beautiful rabbit, stroking the lazy animal over and over, pressing his nose to hers and cuddling it like a toy. The fluffy rabbit was his pet, and he was known throughout Death City particularly for that rabbit, which he named Locco. She was a French Lop, weighing about ten lb, standard that particular breed. The bunny was named after Ashleys old childhood Flemish Giant called Rocco, which had been put down in secret while he was taking Latin classes.

Usually, a boy with a bunny was typically out of habit, but today was a little more bizarre. He had, out of fear for Locco, placed a rabbit lead on it. It looked like simplistic piece of rock climbing equipment, and Locco obviously disapproved, trying to no avail to chew it. She was livid. Her legs brushed wildly against his arms, her ears flapping about like feral flags in a thunderstorm.

One had to feel sorry for his meister, Rocton, although, for most of the journey he had been sleeping, so perhaps it was an excuse to pardon him from any apologetic thoughts. Although, it could have been the bunny that had woken him up in the first place.
Ashley, however, was delighted. Who wouldve thought that Professor Boyle would take his class on a trip to the zoo? It was out of habit, almost. The professor was a serious person as far as Ashley could tell- and wasnt suited to the zoo. He had been singing The Wheels on the Bus Go Round with a one Niels Sndergard, and they both happened to be sitting near the Professor, but it was not apparent if he had enjoyed their singing or not.

Probably not.

Ashley stood in the entrance, wide-eyes and mouth gaping, clutching his kicking rabbit close to his chest.
People looked at him and smiled, some laughed, some let out a cute aw as the saw him. He didnt realize the people looked at him; it was uncommon to see a rabbit on a leash, even more so with a teenage boy. Then again, he wasnt the most teenage looking of teenage boys, and looked more the part than he understood. In fact, Ashley didnt even know he was an oddity, he thought it more normal to love fluffy bunnies more than play Call of Duty on the weekends.

The heat was intense, and Ashley wore an orange shirt with a topless baseball cap with a shamrock on the guard, with three quarter length brown shorts and strange semi-formal shoes. An odd combination, but Ashley rather liked the cap and the shirt, although many other people didnt.
It was another reason that one could only feel sorry for Rocton. Ashley had bad fashion sense, and was very bold and bright, without knowing what it said about him, and even then, the message wasnt all that clear. Only the most trained of psychiatrists would be able to some sort of meaning from the highly eye-hurting clothes, and even then it may not be relevant to Ashley himself, who is in general a bit o a hit and miss when it comes to predicting.
Unless, of course, bunnies are involved.

Professor Davian Boyle was showing the guard something, but soon the group was moving through the gates and into the zoo itself. The professor looked back at them.
Any questions?
Everyone was silent. Ashley had completely ignored the part about coming here to learn, and that this wasnt just a have-some-fun trip. Ashley was still under the impression this was like a gift for being so good, or being not so good, he couldnt tell.
Ashley bounced up and down frantically; I have a question sir! he said out loud, are there any rabbits?
Typical. Ashley smiled broadly; his eyes glistened with stars in them, like some crazed fan seeing their idol up close in a Very Important Person visit.
He had read the map, and saw at the very end of the zoo was a domestic animals section, and now he wanted to know if it contained any rabbits he could pet. Locco, however, would always be his favorite.
Ashley was probably way more excited than everyone else, and probably stood out when it came to blinding color combinations and fluffy pets. His whole demeanor seemed surreal and abnormal, yet somehow cute and adorable. Like a ET that was surprisingly pleasant and adorable looking. It was known, however, that Ashley Shaw was not an extra terrestrial being from some distant planet or another dimension. He was completely and utterly human, with a rather large capacity and soft spots for all things furry with big ears.
Ashley waited for an answer, standing avidly next to Rocton, who was more than likely trying not to free the French Lop from Ashleys death grip. Actually, there was no death grip. Ashley had let Locco onto the floor; she sniffed around his shoes, and then hopped off in one direction to sniff another patch of path, then trudging over to another patch of path. She tugged on the lead, not strong enough to get any kind of force behind it, but enough to make Ashley sway a little from side to side.

Just another waste of time for Rocton today. A trip to the zoo, surrounded by loud animals all day and the rest of his classmates, most of them loud and boisterous. It hadn't been long before he drowned out the noise of everyone on the bus beneath a sea of thoughts.

How long would he be stuck doing these things? When could he start doing his job instead of being stuck behind a mountain of paperwork and tests about meaningless grammar rules and complicated math equations with no relevance to his purpose?

So bothersome all of it. His new demon weapon partner, though, seemed to enjoy it all. The bunny, as resistant as it was to almost everything Ashley did, didn't seem to mind either and as he feinted sleep in between naps, Rocton could hear the kid singing that childish song that he hadn't heard in years.

There was something comforting about hanging around Ashley and his bunny. Ashley never acted his age, the polar opposite of Rocton who had probably seen one too many gruesome sights already. The kid never really grew serious about anything, unless it involved his bunny. In some ways, a small part of Rocton envied him for being so carefree and full of energy and he couldn't help but take a big brother stance around him to make sure to preserve that.

When the bus settled to a halt, and the noise among the students rose exponentially, Rocton finally stirred awake in a sudden motion , as if he had been awake the whole time. He looked out the window and saw his prison block for the day with not a hint of enthusiasm.

As they lined up in front of the Professor, Rocton put on the black cowboy hat he'd been wearing a lot recently. Given the climate, it wasn't odd and it complimented the brown duster coat covering his black vest and slacks that he had decided to take to the trip. It was funny when he compared himself to the outfits that some of the other students had brought. It seemed like they were just begging for sunburn but he simply guessed that's what came from inexperience under such conditions. He shifted his attention elsewhere rather quickly though, since he wasn't much of a person to care what people wore.

He wasn't paying attention to much of the chatter going on as he simply examined the entrance and surroundings of the zoo in front of him. He knew he wasn't interested in any of the things here and had it set in his mind that he'd simply follow Ashley around and feign interest. Maybe the gift shop had a nice hat he could buy with what was left from the last check his adopted home had sent him.

As he pondered the remains of his bank account, Ashley's voice rang through his ears to snap him back to attention. "I have a question sir. Are there any rabbits?"

A small smile nudged it's way into the meister's face as he put his right hand on Ashley's head and said "Da. Of all kinds kiddo" before the Professor could react to the question.

It was really very often the Students of Shibusen got out, not risking their lives in the process, so when a trip like this was announced for the Students, a lot of people jumped on it at the first chance they got, Nova included. There was some bullshit educational excuse for this trip, but she knew that was a first degree lie. Most people would have complained about the bus trip, also, but Nova seemed to enjoy rowdy bus trips where everyone was talking and seemed like they were having a nice time. Though her co-worker Ashley and some posh looking guy at the front wouldn't stop singing, which killed it a little truth be told. Still, it was part of every bus journey, and at least it had air-con, too.

It was nice to get out of the class rooms that was for sure. Nova wasn't one for sitting down at a desk for too long. Nova always got excited about going to Zoo's, even though she'd been to many when Jack and Co took the whole family aboard once a year. Only thing was this trip might be a little more sane then ANY of those, or so she hoped. The girl had gone oout of her way to dress for the heat, wearing a front cross back top, waist high shorts and her Converse boots, a should bag hanging at her hips, a pair of head phones around her neck and an unwilling Theron at her side. Though she had his best interests in mind, he never really did much apart from study, train, study, so dammit he was coming to the Zoo.

It was a warm day in the desert, a dry breeze rolling across the Mojave made it a little more bearable at the least. By the looks of it, only herself and Ashley were enjoying themselves today, however, and she was determined to put a smile on that partner of hers! Though he would have probably preferred to stay in Death City. Besides, she'd thought she's seen Vespera on the trip down, so maybe she could say hello after the professor and finished answering any questions people might have. Not many by the looks of things. Bar Ashley of course, who'd brought his Bunny with him. Locco, was it? He brought the thing into work as well, and seemed to attract a lot attention from customers, especially the girls, though some saw him as a Health and Safety hazard. Luckily, Ashley didn't know that.

To try and make conversation, Nova nudged Theron lightly. "Just wondering, have you actually ever been to a Zoo?" She tried not to sound too judgemental about it, but she had wondered about it. Though it probably wasn't really his thing, Nova only wanted him to stop being so tense, but she wanted to have fun as well. It would be interesting to see how this day turned out...

A Zoo Trip...

With Professor Dreamy...

On a nice, sunny day...

How could he resist!

Niels had been jumping about in excitement for the last couple of days because of this trip. Or, rather, the prospect of being able to spend more time with his most favourite teacher! Although he was rather nervous as well, nervous enough to sing 'The Wheels on The Bus' all the way to the Zoo, along with some kid and his bunny, almost unaware that the Professors weren't too far away from where he was. Nevertheless, he was probably one of the loudest people on that bus, not that he cared all that much to be frank. He liked to sing, and given, he sang well, just it wasn't the time. Or the place. Still, he was enjoying himself.

He was smiling like a little kid in a candy shop, as he stood, towering over the crowd waiting to be aloud to wander the Zoo freely. He however, would try his best to stay at his Favourite Professors side the whole day. It would be impossible to notice that he was staring at Davian for at least 5 consecutive minutes at a time regularly, before getting distracted by something. Niels may be smart, and a good student too, but in the end, he wasn't quite right, not that it was easy to avoid at all. The boys eyes were sparkling with a dreamy look. A weird expression for a 17 year old boy.

He could have asked a million different questions, each as irrelevant as the last, but against his better judgement decided now was no time for stupid questions. It wouldn't make him look any better, after all. So he just stared like a moron, not realising he looked at least a little creepy. Still, he had to do something while he was here, as much as he would of liked to stay with the Professor and try to talk to him, had had to make a good impression first! "What kind of things do you want us to note about the animals Professor?" He asked, with more then a light dose of enthusiasm. Oh what as good-two-shoes he was. Yep. Such a good boy!

Ah...the zoo. It was a place of wonder, fulfillment, and various animal crap.

And Vingnir loved it. The smile on his face only grew as the group got closer and closer to the zoo, and seemed to span his entire body; it could almost certainly be said that the demon weapon was emitting a happy 'glow'. As soon as Vinny got off of the bus, he ran around manically; burning the energy excitement gave him as quickly as possible. He figured, 'How could he look at the architecture if he was too buzzed?', which gave rise to the reason for his avid staring at the animals. The rocket hammer was trying to configure them as automatons in his head, while also taking in the shape of the enclosures. Giraffes became motorised and stiff; lithe snakes suddenly comprised of a multitude of gears and plastic -- the cages which contained them broken down into parts, all laid out like a blueprint in his head. This was how he thought; it was as if he was put on the Earth for no other purpose than building. Well, that wasn't strictly true. His other motivation for doing anything was to save the world...but he'd consider today a vacation from that. Today, he'd have fun.

Vingnir moved back into the crowd of people that were gathering around the Professor, paying little attention to the barrage of questions aimed in the direction of this trip's chaperone. Instead, his green eyes scanned the crowd for Inverno; his partner. He wasn't too sure if he was coming today, although the answer should have become apparent by now -- his white hair was indeed rather distinctive. But then again, Vinny wasn't too good at noticing things; rather, being noticed was his forte. It would take him a while to affirm his suspiscions.

"Hey, who wants to go check out the monkeys?" He whispered into the crowd, hoping to attract some willing monkey-viewers. Waiting for answers, Vinny pulled out the miniature automatons he had constructed on the bus journey to the zoo. The looked a lot like the simians, save for the green and slightly eerie lights in their eyes. Their arms were curved in a permanent hold, and, although this wouldn't become obvious until much later, were magnetic. They were wind up, and no doubt some would want him to demonstrate what he had made, but the rocket hammer disliked unnecessary wear and tear on his creations. For once, it would seem Vinny had the thinking cap on his head.

To say that Lynn was bursting with excitement would be an understatement. With all of the commotion and animals everywhere, the young meister had almost forgotten that this was an educational field trip and not a leisurely vacation. It was only once the professor started talking that Lynn remembered that this was a school trip. Lynn had never been to a zoo before, her psycho over protective mother never let her go to one, so it was understandable that the brunette wanted to only run off in a random direction and explore instead of having a lesson. Oh well, at least this was better than sitting in a classroom.

Lynn just barely payed attention to what Professor Boyle said. While she was one of those meisters that used soul perception, she was not too well trained in it and can only barely tell where souls are located but not be able distinguish between different types. So she doubted that she would be able to find differences between animal and human souls like the professor wants them to. So instead, Lynn put her concentration on finding a familiar face to walk with, mostly looking for her new blue haired partner Vespera.

Luckily for Lynn, Vespera wasn't hard to find with her bright yellow clothes. It was a bit different that the demon bo staff's normal wardrobe, but it made her easy for Lynn to find. Unlike her partner, Lynn wasn't so stylish or fashion forward. In fact, she just puts on whatever suits the weather and she finds first. Today that happened to be a striped tank top and jeans that were a bit too long for her. Her dark brown hair was down and pulled back with a black headband. The only thing she ever payed attention to in her outfits would be her pendants. Today she chose to wear what looked like a small book hanging on a thin chain around her neck. The book would silently flap open and close with ever step the meister took.

Lynn made her way to Vespera and started to walk beside her. "Hey, there you are. Are you ok? You seem a bit odd today," Lynn said after examining the blue haired girl for a bit. She seemed a bit less attentive than usual. Could it be from the heat? Or maybe her new partner just didn't like zoos. Before Lynn could say anything else, she heard someone say something about monkeys from behind.

"Wait, they have monkeys here?" Lynn said aloud to no one in particular. She had a surprised tone in her voice as if she had no idea that there monkeys in this zoo. "Hey Professor, can we go and see the monkeys next?"

Vespera was relieved to see her partner, so much that she let out a very audible sigh and turned her head towards her as she caught up and started talking.

"Hey, there you are. Are you ok? You seem a bit odd today." she said.

Vespera jumped a little as she slowly turned her head back forward. She had a nervous look on her face as she answered the question.

"I've just never been to a zoo before, seeing all these animals in one place and--" then in the brief moment between words she suddenly let it out. "PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TELL ME THERE AREN'T ANY SNAKES HERE!" she said, almost as if cursing the heavens in advance if she saw a snake.

When she signed up for the trip she didn't even think about it. Most animals she didn't have any problems with and she was curious enough to want to see them up close, but there were two that she just couldn't be anywhere near. Sharks were one, it's why she never swims in the ocean, and snakes were the other. Just hearing the hiss of a snake is enough to make Vespera cringe, but if she saw one it was time to go as far away from it as possible.

She immediately ceased her panic when monkeys came up.

"Hey Professor, can we go and see the monkeys next?" her partner said.

"Now that I wouldn't mind. I second that!" Vespera said, now a little calmer than before since she finally let out what she was so nervous about.

"I have a question sir. Are there any rabbits?"

"Da. Of all kinds kiddo."

"What kind of things do you want us to note about the animals Professor?"

"PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TELL ME THERE AREN'T ANY SNAKES HERE!"

Davian couldn't help but smile, seeing and hearing the enthusiasm (or what he was willing to let pass for enthusiasm, in some cases) of the students, fond memories of trips during his own schooling days bubbling up to the forefront of his mind. Ah, to be so young again! "Well, pay special attention to the large predators and anything that uses poisons -- these are the main concern when operating out in the wilds. If there's any information at the habitats try and familiarize yourself with how they hunt and mark their territory. Other than that... whatever catches your interest, Neils."

"Don't worry Vespera -- the snakes are confined to the reptile house and rock cove area. They're not left out in the open to wander the zoo; that'd be very bad for business.

"Hey Professor, can we go and see the monkeys next?"

The professor made a dismissing wave with his hand, still smiling. "No need to stay in a group; go wander to whatever catches your interest. Everyone be sure to meet back up in front of the gift shop at 5:30 -- that's three hours from now -- for the ride back to Death City. Any other questions?"

"Just wondering, have you actually ever been to a Zoo?"

Nova's words shook him from his own thoughts, none of which were bright and cheery. Even though he was still amongst fellow students, something about going on this trip made him feel... exposed. Vulnerable. Liable to drop his guard. The old fears about assassins had been cropping up in his thoughts again ever since he'd admitted his true history to Nova -- some part of him still grappling with the concept of trust, no doubt. But even that was only a minor annoyance; for Nova's sake he'd still have put on some attempt at enthusiasm, except...

... he'd been having that dream again. Try as he might Theron couldn't get it out of his mind. The vast eye glaring down out of the darkness; falling, always falling, into an endless inferno. He could feel a cold sweat coming on just thinking about it.

"...No, this'll be my first time." Realizing the way she was looking at him, he added. "Sorry, I've been... distracted." He tried to effect a smile and only halfway succeeded. Why were these dreams eating at him like this?

Nova wasn't the only one who'd dressed for the occasion, though Theron's attire was less about countering the heat and more about a low profile. It was one thing to go cavorting around in a cape and panoply in Death City where strange things and stranger people were relatively commonplace, but out here in the "normal" public a lower profile seemed a better idea. Taking this as a chance to experiment with "commoner" outfits he'd donned a white hoodie with a gray fleur-de-lis on the front, light gray slacks, and black shoes (keeping, of course, his family crest, gloves, and under-worn fencing armor). Needless to say, he still didn't quite grasp the concept of casual wear. The sword Sangfroid has likewise been left behind; though it was a decent weapon in its own rights and good to practice with it simply didn't compare to what he and Nova could do, doubly so now that they'd mastered their first Soul Resonance. He looked around at the zoo, taking in the sounds of animals cawing and growling in the mid-day heat and people wandering to and fro.

"I've heard about zoos, but... well, they're not very common back in Romania. I'll just follow your lead, if that's okay."

When Rick had heard about the zoo trip, his initial reaction was a shitfaced grin. It had been four years since he went to a zoo, with the last time practically being on a leash. This time, however, the students were free to roam the zoo for a certain amount of time before having to catch the bus home. This opened up a lot of opportunities for the Demon Chair, most of them involving taunting caged animals for kicks.

Today, the Demon Chair dressed a little differently. As opposed to most of his peers, Rick dressed for desert survival. On his upper body was a loose, long-sleeved white shirt for the purpose of protecting his upper body from sunburn, with the white color being the best for the heat. On his legs were a pair of khaki slacks, for the same purpose as the upper body. On his feet were the pair of hiking boots he normally wore on missions. Paired with his Shades of Horatio and a face full of sunscreen, and he was good to go.

As with any other bus ride, Rick spend the majority of it asleep, with metal pumping through his headphones. For the majority of the trip, however, the MP3 player was powered off due to the album ending. It took one of his classmates to shake him awake upon arrival to actually wake him up. Along with the rest of the students, Rick stepped off the bus, pocketing his MP3 player in the process, while putting on his Shades of Horatio.

The professor commenced with a debriefing, with a brief interruption to present clearance to carry a firearm. Once clearance was verified, the professor entered the zoo, students following. At the end of the debriefing, the professor asked for any questions. Several students had asked questions, about whether there were snakes, snakes, if they could see the monkeys, and what they had to take notice of. Boyle told them that they could split up until 5:30 PM, and to take note of the big and poisonous creatures.

When Boyle asked if they had any other questions, Rick simply grinned. It would be time to mess with fire. . .

Wait...did that kid have a bunny?

A perplexed look claimed the features of the demon weapon. Who brought a bunny to the zoo? James watched, quite interested, as the boy's rabbit hopped around and sniffed things. As far as bunny's go, it wasn't too different from the norm. However, this was a bunny on a leash in a zoo, under the care of a kid that looked, to be quite honest, rather frail. Still, it wasn't as if James didn't find it interesting. In fact he marveled at the notion of it; bringing a pet to a zoo? It was actually pretty cool.

And so, he walked over towards the brown haired boy and his bunny. His blonde hair bounced off of his brow, rather like the rabbit bouncing around on the ground. This thought made James smile, which only served to add to his friendly appearance. Despite his earlier assumptions, this trip might turn out to be something rather worthwhile!

"Hello! I haven't seen you around school before, you must be in the other class. I'm James, nice to meet you." He said with a grin. He looked past the other student to his bunny, before looking up again. Just behind the boy he was talking to, he could see Rick. His friend was decked out with some awesome-looking shades.

"Oh, you gotta meet Rick! He's cool!" Said the demon weapon, rather enthusiastically. Tugging the other student by the hand towards Rick, James announced his presence.

"Oi Rick! What do ya think we should do now..?" James used "we" to include all three of the people in the group. To be honest, he was being really overbearing and pushy; he didn't even know the bunny guy's name! Still, it'd come with time. No doubt names would come to light if Rick's hairbrained antics went south. James started glowing at the thought.

This trip wouldn't be so bad after all...

So this was Vespera's first time at the zoo as well? And even though the professor assured her partner that all the snakes were confined and no where near enough to them to do any harm, Lynn felt like she should say something as well to comfort her partner. "Don't worry ViVi. Of any snake does manage to escape, I'll turn it into a snakeskin belt. Or are those not in style?" Lynn said with a laugh, clearly joking.

Everything the professor said to look out for and pay attention to flew right out of the brunette's head once he said they could roam on their own. Of course they had to meet back up at 5:30, but that seemed ages away. So for now she was going to run loose and have some fun. With this being her first time in a zoo she wanted to see it all! Well she had to start somewhere so why not with the monkeys?

"Anyone else who wants to see the monkeys, follow me!" Lynn called out and raised her hand to draw attention to herself as she walked off. The girl didn't even looked back to see if anyone was following her. Being fairly new, she didn't know anyone all that well except for her partner Vespera. And exploring the zoo wasn't any fun on her own so why not try to attract some sort of group? There were bound to be other people who wanted to view the monkey, especially since they were pretty close to the entrance. Actually, the only way Lynn knew that and which way to go was because there was a sign pointing in the direction the primate exhibit was. And if the sign was right there, then the monkeys couldn't be too far away.
